Your P.O.V.

Finally, you are here. You have been preparing for this all your life.

You were born in United States, in New York. Your father and mother are Americans, but when you were just one year old your family moved to London so you could attend Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You could have attended Ilvermorny, but your parents wanted you to study here, in Britain. It is great here and you were thankful that you were raised in England. Somehow you were talking with British accent while your parents had American. You were glad about it, because British accent is just beautiful to you.

You and your family were so happy when you received a letter from Hogwarts, that on the exactly same day you went to Diagon Alley to get everything you needed for school.

Both of your parents are wizards. Your mother is a doctor, an osteopath. A pretty famous one actually. She helps both wizards and muggles. And your father works with papers at the Ministry. Both of them attended Ilvermorny when they were younger.

And so, finally, here you were. Watching as kids and their parents walked through a brick wall that leads to the platform 9 3/4. Your father helped you with your kart and holding your mother's hand, making sure that no muggles are watching, you entered the platform. That was when you saw a beautiful train. It was so long that you couldn't see the end of it, probably because you were too short. Looking around you saw only a few families. You were early. And you were glad about it. It meant that you could choose yourself a cabin and hopefully no one will sit with you.

There was only one problem. You were very unsocial. You didn't have any friends, stuttered all the time while talking with other people except your parents, were very awkward, always raised your head just enough to peek at the world from under your hair, had trouble with keeping eye contact and annoyed people in general. But that didn't change the fact that you wanted to go to Hogwarts. You were looking forward especially for one particular subject. Care for Magical Creatures. It made you sad when you found out that it stared only in the third year.

You were fascinated by Magical Creatures. You wanted to know everything about them. Of course you knew some of them, like Nifflers and Bowtruckles. But it was just a tiny part of an entire world you were so desperate to know about. Your parents supported you, and that is way for your birthday they gave you a book about animals. Those that are known in the muggle world, saying that you needed to learn about animals and they behaviour before studying magical creatures. They were right. Animals are not as complicated as creatures. Of course they are fascinating as well.

Your father crouched down to meet your eye level.

"So, today is the day." He said faintly smiling.

His American accent ringing in your ears.

"Yes!" You said with your soft British one.

"We will write to you every week to keep you updated." Your mother said and hugged you tightly.

"Of course!"

"Remember to study."

"I will."

"Good." Your father said.

With the corner of your eye you noticed more families coming to the platform. You needed to hurry.

"Mum, dad, I love you! I need to get going!" You said hurriedly.

"Wait!" Your mother said and grabbed your shoulders hugging you.

"Don't forget this." Your father said handing you your bag that you'll take into the train.

He hugged you too.

"Our girl is all grown up now!" He said and kissed your forehead, soon followed by your mother.

"Bye!" You quickly said and turned around walking toward the train.

You slowly stepped in and started looking for an empty cabin. You found one and walked inside, slowly closing the door behind you. Maybe that will scare off other students. You sat down on one of the couches and opened your leather bag. Inside your parents prepared some food for you, a bottle of your favourite juice, your sketch book, pensilcase and your new book about animals if you get bored. Usually, it didn't happen at the rides because you will just look out of the window and enjoy the view. English landscape is one of the most beautiful things on earth. You could just watch it forever. And the train had huge windows too!

You heard students on the other side of the glass door but refused to look there, afraid to meet someones gaze. You took out your book and hugged it to your chest. Maybe you will read it, or just stare out of the window the whole way.

Suddenly you heard the train honk and sat closer to the window, looking for your parents. When your eyes met you imidiatly started waving. You welt the train slowly take off. Your parents were getting further and further until you couldn't see them anymore. The King's Cross Station was out of sight when you were looking at the streets of London. You are not going to see them for a while.

With a sigh, you leaned into your seat not believing your luck. Nobody is in the cabin with you. You decided to read for a bit, so you opened the book and started reading. A few moments later you heard a knock which made you freeze. A knock? On your door? That is no good. Slowly you raised your head just enough for you to see who it was.

It was a boy. He slowly and carefully opened the door not really looking at you.

"Do... do you mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full." He asked you politely.

His soft accent was very smooth.

"N...no, I don't mind." You said trying not to stutter but failing.

It would be rude not to let him sit here. He seems like a kind person.

"Thank you." He thanked you closing the door behind.

You shut your book and looked out of the window while the boy sat across from you. After a few moments of awkward silence he cleared his throat slightly.

"I'm Newton Scamander."

"Y/n Y/l/n."

It was clear that he was trying to start a conversation with you. From what you have noticed in that split moment that you looked at Newton, he had brown-reddish hair covering his eyes and a lot of freckles. He looked kind of cute. But you didn't notice which colour were his eyes. Maybe you'll get a chance later.

"If you don't mind me asking, wh... What are you reading, Y/n?"

You slightly released the book out of your tight grip to show him.

"It's a book about animals, Newton."

Newt's P.O.V.

I tried to start a conversation with the girl named Y/n. She was an interesting character. She reminded me of... well me. I glanced at her from under my hair. She had a very kind looking face. And beautiful y/h/l y/h/c hair. Usually I wasn't thinking about people surrounding me but there was something about her. I wanted to get to know her better. Maybe we can be friends? No Newt, a girl like her will never be friends with you. You'll just annoy her and she will get as far from you as possible.

I sighed. Then I noticed a book in Y/n's hands. It looked interesting. Maybe I'll ask her about the book and then I'll get to know her. Well, it is worth a try.

"If you don't mind me asking, wh... What are you reading, Y/n?"

I tried my hardest not to stutter but failed to do so. I hope it was alright that I used her name, right?

"It's a book about animals, Newton." She said showing me the cover of the book.

"Please, call me Newt." I said quickly.

I don't really like when people are using my whole name. Well this one is not full yet.

"Are you interested in animals?" I asked trying to find more about Y/n.

"Well yes, I'm more interested in magical creatures. They are fascinating! I want to know everything about them but to learn about magical creatures I first need to understand animals and their behaviour."

At first, I couldn't believe my ears. There are other people that are fascinating by beasts and creatures.

"Really? Me too!" I said excitedly.

I finally met someone who understands me. And I couldn't be happier about talking with other person.

Your P.O.V

My face imidiatly lit up when I heard that he was interested in magical creatures as well. I usually wasn't a person who show their emotions but a smile sure did apear on my face. I have never wanted to talk to a person as much in my life as I did now.

"Do you have favourite creature, Newt?"

"Yes, well, I really like Bowtruckles." He said mailing shyly.

"They are very clever, and very cute. I have even seen one once." I said recalling the memory of one of the best days of your life.

"I did too!...What about you, Y/n? Do you have a favourite creature?"Newt asked you looking very excited about your conversation.

"I'm really fascinated by Nifflers... by their pouch that can fit anything in it."

"They really like shiny things."

"Yes. Shame that I have never seen it in real life... Did you see any other creatures?"

"Well, my mother is a Hippogriff breader so I see them every day."

"Really?! You are so lucky, Newt."

This boy is very, very lucky.

"Yeah, probably I'm not going to see them for a while." He almost whispered.

"What do your parents do, Y/n?" Newt asked you shaking away the slight wave of sadness.

"My father works at the Ministry and my mother is an osteopath."

"Who?" He asked a bit confused.

"A doctor."

Newt nodded in uderstandment.

Next few hours you spent talking about your families and Hogwarts and Magical Creatures. It was very nice to talk to someone who understands you and doesn't get annoyed.
