~Liz's p.o.v.~

"I thought I told you to NEVER be late..." a threading voice from behind the chair said. Slowly the chair turned around to reveal a furious and angry father sitting in front of me.

"F-Father I can explain...!" I said scared. He started to slowly get out of his seat walking towards me. "You know the rules Liz...." Meliodas said walking closer to me with an angered face.

No one's POV

Liz started to walk backwards to get away from her terrifying father, but tripped and fell landing on the hard tile floors. Meliodas walked closer to his daughter and pulled out his sword as it gleamed off the setting sun. Liz started to scoot back away from her father but couldn't escape. Meliodas' eyes seemed as if he were happy. Happy that she was late, was it so he could make her his punching bag.

"FATHER PLEASE!" Liz screamed as she shielded her face with her pale shaking hands from the beast in front of her. Small innocent tears were flowing down the girl's face as the sharp threatening sword and her came in contact leaving a trail of blood resting on her thigh above her small shirt.

Liz let out a loud yelp as the blade left her leg. "Don't cry! I raised you better than this! NOT to be late! And NEVER back down! That's what you're doing RIGHT NOW!" Every word out of the demons mouth made Liz only think of one word...

run!

Liz's head was telling her to escape but her body couldn't move. Even if she wanted to her body was in complete shock that she couldn't even feel the pain in her leg yet. She cupped her hands over her ears as if her father's words hurt more than the deep bloody cut in her thigh.

Meliodas dropped his sword that was now caked in his own daughters blood. He clinched his hands in a fist and with all his might covered Liz in bruises until her smooth pale skin was painted in black and blue marks.

"You disappoint me..." The abusive father rolled his eyes in hatred and disgust. He picked up his daughter's plate of food and threw it at her covering her in wet mushy mash potatoes and mushrooms on her ripped lace shirt and cut legs.

The blonde haired monster walked away from the crying child leaving her alone.... bruised... and cut with the dinner that was on the sliver plate now on her cold shaking skin and clothes attracting a disgusting smell.

The room echoed in whines and whimpers as the girl tried to slowly soak in what had just happened.

After weeping, Liz slowly and carefully arose from the hard cold tile ground. She rested all her body weight on the back side of a nearby chair. Nothing but pain circled through her veins as her feet dragged her body outside the room leaning on every wall she was closest to nocking down some of the smaller painting displayed on the wall.

"A-almost... there..." Liz painfully reaches out her hand to the doorknob leading to her room, a place where her father never enters.

As the sliver haired girl pushed open the door a light lime green room with large golden royal windows that had the sunset peaking out through the curtains appears on the other side. On each wall there was a bookshelf with all different colored books lying on top. There was a bed near the door with bright purple flowers sow-on the sheets that layered the white wooden bed.

Liz fell on her bed feeling huge wave of relief that it was all over. Unfortunately Liz had no one to treat her injuries so each time her wicked father would beat her she would have to heal her cuts, bruises, and scars all on her own.

She learned how to tend wounds at the age of five years old. Liz was almost an expert nurse at this point. The weak girl carefully got up from the soft bed and opened a drawer to find bandaging tape and a wash cloth.

Liz took the wash cloth and soaked it in her bathroom that was attached to her room but divided by a door. She drowned it in hot water and placed it on her bloody cut. A strong stinging pain ran through her leg as the cloth and the cut made contact.

Liz let out a painful whimper, that she was trying to hold in. Her leg had a red cut but the blood spilling out had stopped and was soaked up by the warm cloth. She then applied the bandaging tape around her leg tightly.

She tried to walk around the room without falling or leaning on anything for support. She had an obvious limp when she would walk so she choose to lay down on her bed to heal.

It was now dark. The sun had set and the lights were off the only light that was tearing through the curtains was the bright white moon and tiny stars in the ink black sky. On her night stand beside her was a cream colored candle that was lit and had wax dripping down the side and on the the silver pan below it.

Liz laid on her bed staring at the ceiling. She wanted to leave this place. She knew that if she ran away then she'd probably find somewhere better than this place.

But this place is my home...
I can't just leave...

Would father even care?

Would he even look for me?

Even then....

Where would I go?

A layer of tears reflected off Liz's bright green eyes as the warm tears flowed down her cheeks. Liz layer there weeping all night and continually would call out "M-mother..... I miss you...."

Even though she never knew her mother she had a picture of her that she would keep under her pillow.

~Flash Back~
Liz: 6 years old

"F-father?" A small young Liz called out softly. In front of her was her evil father with pictures of his wife that he had killed six years ago. He held them in his hands in disgust and hate. Beside him was a brick fireplace that had a large roaring fire inside.

One by one the demon threw in a picture of Elizabeth burning it to ashes. "What, Liz?" His deep sonorous voice echoed throughout the room. "What are you doing?" The innocent small child asked.

Soon the man struck the child in the face leaving a bright red mark on her cheek. She feel the ground on all fours. She noticed that her father dropped a picture of the woman that he claimed he hated.

Liz quickly grabbed the picture and hid it behind her back. "You remind me too much of her." Meliodas threw all the remaining pictures in his hand into the fire causing it to roar with excitement. As the fire grew so did Meliodas' smile.

~Flash Back Over~

She looked at the old photo and saw her mother being lifted up by a man, both of them smiling being happy. The man looked kinda like her father but she knew that her father always had a hatful look in his eyes, so it couldn't be him.... right? What had happened to him Liz sometimes would wonder to herself. Liz had laid herself on her bed and blew out the flaming candle on her nightstand. She slowly closed her eyes and found herself caught in a dream.

-in the dream-

Liz was wearing a bright long laced purple dress running down a valley full of wild flowers full of different beautiful colors. She leaped and twirled in the air as if nothing could stop her. She ran down to the bottom of a grassy green hill to see a little tavern sitting alone by itself. She walked into the tavern that had a Boar Hat sign hanging on the side of the door. The green door opened to let the child in. A blonde haired figure stood behind the counter with bright beautiful green eyes. They seemed to be washing cups and plates.

"Back so soon?" The figure said in a high pitch voice said. Liz gasped in shock of the familiar sounding voice. The small man turned around to face Liz as she gasped in shock. It was her father smiling at his daughter as his blonde bands blew as a slight breeze came through the door. "Liz are you alright...?" Her father asked her cocking his head sideways.

"Y-Yes father. I was scared that I might be late for dinner..." Liz said shamefully bowing her head. "Why is that? You can stay outside as long as you want." Meliodas said with a joyful grin on his face. The last time she saw him that happy was when he was using her as a personal punching bag. "Sir Meliodas is Sir Ban ready with dinner?" A voice from the stairs called to Meliodas.

"Who's Ban, and who was that calling my father?" Liz wondered to herself. She saw a woman with a white silk dress and blue silver hair walk down the stairs with a gentle smile on her face. She walked over to Meliodas and smiled down on him. "I told you their was no more need to call me Sir Meliodas, just call me Meliodas, love. Ok?" Meliodas said smiling up at brushing hair out of her eye to reveal the woman's other eye.

The woman looked familiar.... Liz knee that she has seen her before.

The picture!

The woman giggled as Meliodas smirked up at her. "Oh...,"

"Hello Liz!" The woman said turning to Liz smiling.

"Mother?" Liz managed to escape out of her mouth as her eyes widened.

-dream end-

Liz stat up in shock for her startling dream. Liz couldn't get the image of her mother out of her head. Why was she laughing with her father? How could her father be so nice and joyful? Liz looked back at the photo that was underneath her pillow reliving the same woman.

"Mother......" Liz whispered.
