I wasn't stupid. I knew something was wrong. FP didn't say anything about the progress of divorce. We argued more and more often, and our relationship ... Well, how could I call our relationship?

"What about the divorce?" I asked when FP visited me one day at home.

He visited me often, mainly to spend time with Charles. He couldn't take him to his trailer, because southside was quite a specific and dangerous place for newborns. That's why we decided that he would be able to visit me when he would like to and spend time with his son.

"Divorce is getting closer," he answered evasively, and took Charles in his hands. He began to play with him.

"Forsythe, tell me the truth," I said harshly, and he rolled his eyes. I felt that he was hiding something.

"I'm waiting for the court's decision," he finally said.

"So long?"

"Yes, Alice!" he shouted, causing Charles to cry. I looked scowling at FP.

"Calm down," I hissed and looked at my son. My heart was hurt.

"I'm sorry," FP whispered and started kissing Charles on the face and rubbing his back. Our son, however, didn't calm down.

"Look, what you did!," I said reproachfully and went to FP. I took Charles and hugged him tightly.

"You are oversensitive! You take the child away from me right away!" he growled and came to me.

"Because I see how our son is afraid of you," I hissed and hugged Charles to the chest.

"Don't make me a monster," he growled and clenched his fist.

"I'm not a witch to make you a monster," I said and took a deep breath. "Do not even try to raise your hand on me!" I added and pointed to his clenched fist.

"I'm not like my father, I would never hit you"

I looked at him and sighed. When Charles calmed down, I handed him back to FP, and then I went to the kitchen. I took a deep breath and leaned against the kitchen counter.

"You didn't file a petition for divorce, did you?" I asked after a moment and looked straight ahead at the wall.

"Of course I did it" FP appeared next to me and touched my arm.

"if I find out you're lying... It will be over, Forsythe," I said, and tears appeared in my eyes. I wasn't going to be cheated.

"Honey" FP hugged me tightly. "It's not a lie, I wouldn't lie to you," he added and kissed my forehead. I felt his words were insincere.

When FP went home, I decided to go shopping. I asked Betty to take care of Charles for an hour. I was happy that my daughter spent time with her brother so eagerly.

I parked in the parking lot and got out of the car. I adjusted my coat and went to the store. At fruit ailse, I noticed Sierra McCoy ... now Sierra Keller. I decided to talk to her and inquire about the progress of divorce Gladys and FP.

"Sierra, hi!" I said and went to her. She greeted me with a smile.

"Hi, Alice, you look wonderful." We hugged each other in greeting.

"Thank you" I smiled. "You're probably busy right now ... I heard that many people have filed for divorce in Riverdale."

A little lie wasn't bad. I decided to use my journalistic sense and come up with something. I had to find out the truth about this damn divorce.

"Really?" she asked surprised. I frowned at her reaction. "I didn't know!"

How is this possible?

"Yes ..." I said with a smile. "I looked at the statistics," I lied.

"Well, yeah. In the end you're a journalist," Sierra laughed and started picking mandarins.

I started this conversation badly, and now I stood in the center of aisle like a statue. I took a pair of avocados.

"Guacamole?" Sierra pulled me out of my reverie. In fact, I didn't know why I took five avocados ... I was completely distracted.

"What? Oh, yes. I promised Betty, "I smiled. "Sierra, tell me, do you know anything about...em... Gladys and FP divorce?" I asked.

I had to ask her this question. She looked at me surprised and I knew something was wrong.

"What divorce? I've never heard of it." she replied, and I opened my eyes wide. My heart ached.

FP lied to me.

"Are you sure? FP said he was talking to you about his divorce, "I said in a weak voice. Tears appeared unexpectedly in my eyes. I wanted to escape from the store.

"Yes, I'm sure, Alice," Sierra nodded, and I took a step back. I shook my head and ran out of the store, not paying attention to Sierra's call. I didn't even pay attention to the fact that I left the cart in the middle of the aisle. I was in shock.

I got in the car and drove straight towards southside. I won't give him this time. I was deceiving him for a long time, but it was mainly because I loved him. God, how stupid I was! How naive I was. I believed in all his promises again.

People say that you shouldn't act on the spur of the moment, because later you can regret your actions. I knew that I wouldn't regret what I was going to do.

I parked in front of Whyte Wyrm and stormed inside. Hog Eye shouted something to me, but I didn't pay any attention to him. I was angry. I was furious! I went upstairs straight to the FP's office and stepped in with impetus.

I noticed him. He sat at a desk over some papers. He must sell drugs with his wife again.

"Alice!" he got up from the desk when he saw me. He came to me, but I moved away from him. Tears flowed in my eyes.

"You didn't change at all" I hissed through my teeth, clenching my fists. "You are the same stupid boy who treats women like your gains!"

"Why are you saying that, what happened?" he asked and saw how he swallowed nervously. He grabbed my shoulders, but I tried to break away from him. As a result, we began to struggle.

"Sierra doesn't know anything about your divorce. You lie to me!" I growled.

"Are you spy on me?" he asked and pushed me away. I slammed my back against the door and sighed heavily.

"I didn't have to. I met with Sierra in the shop and asked about your divorce."

"I don't know what to tell you now." FP ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know what you want to hear from me," he whispered and came to me. He grabbed my hand and looked into my eyes.

"Tell me the truth"

"I can't divorce Gladys now. We have unfinished business in Toledo, and when they find out about our divorce, we will be in danger..."

I didn't know if he was lying or telling the truth. It was all screwed up.

"Who are they?" I asked, trying to push him away from me.

"Hiram's people"

"I don't want to participate in this" I said and shook my head. "You've lost my trust, Forsythe. You promised me that you would end up with selling drugs. You promised me... Why did you lie?!" I screamed and my heart beat faster.

"To protect you! After everything I'll divorce with Gladys and we will be finally together, Alice!" hearing these words, I took the swing and hit FP hard on the cheek.

"You liar. I don't believe you," I growled loudly. "I can protect myself, I don't need you," I hissed and left the office. FP ran after me and grabbed my arm when I was on the stairs. I staggered and looked at him.

"It can't end like this!" he said, desperately squeezing my hand.

"It's over now," I said and cried. "I want to hate you as much as I love you. You hurted me so much, Forsythe, and I always found an explanation for you. The awareness that I could lose you was so painful that I ignored the fact that you still live with Gladys, but now I don't want you in my life. "I broke away from him. "I have never been disappointed in you," I said and ran out with Whyte Wyrm. When I got to the car I cried and got into the car.

Just why?
