"Always tryna send me off to rehab
Drugs started feelin' like it's decaf." I hum to myself as I walk down the corridor. It's barely ten in the morning, and most of the people here are fast asleep. I absolutely adore quiet mornings, when all that can be heard are bird sounds and wind blows.

I was told by a very tired Luke to bring Carter his car keys, so Carter's apartment is where I'm headed. Apparently Carter is leaving to town for a few days and he'll need his car for that, obviously. I already texted Carter and he told me the doors are unlocked so I can just enter on my own. I suppose he's in bed and he's too sleepy to get up.

Once I'm in front of the apartment I push the door open but as soon as I see the living room, I also see something I really don't need right now. Wes is only in his boxers, and I've seen him without his shirt, but this is too much for my eyes. Not because it's my enemy I'm seeing, but because my mind starts whirling with thoughts I shouldn't be thinking. He really looks good, damn.

"Shit." The curse escapes my lips as he starts turning around.

Well, great, now it's even worse. Holy shit.

Wes looks at me, not even looking suprised that I showed up at their apartment.

"What's up, kitty?" He nods at me.

"Oh my God, please don't say that." I cover my mouth, but not my eyes. The view I have right now is not something I get to see often. He smirks, seeing my reaction, and then casually starts walking towards me.

"Can you put some pants on?" I stare directly at his eyes, trying so hard not to drop them.

"Why?" He shrugs, still not stopping.

"Dude, stop." I place my hand on his chest once he is close to me. He is too close right now and it's so hard to stay calm. He was moving so slow that for a moment I wonder how he got to me this fast.

"Stop calling me dude." He almost laughs. "It doesn't fit the moment."

"The moment?" My voice is a whisper once his eyes meet mine. They don't linger long and they move to the side after a second. I suck in a breath when I feel his hand grabs my waits, so gently and if I dare say, teasingly. I don't know what the hell is going on, but I do know how mesmerized I am by his looks and I can't even beileve I am thinking that.

"Mhm." He mutters as he lowers his head, meeting my neck halfway. My eyes widen for a second, experiencing panic, but once his lips graze my skin, I close my eyes and suddenly forget how to breathe.

My skin heats up as he leaves small kisses up my neck, each making me breathe even harder. He gradually moves towards my neck, slowly pushing me against the wall. My mind is blank, the only thing concerning me is how hot it's beginning to be in this wide room. I can hear his deep breaths, as his hand moves to the centre of my back, into the hollows.

But then it all stops, when the sound of doors closing makes us both panic evidently. Wes's head shoots up as his eyes pierce into mine. I look behind him only to see a foot stepping out of the corner that seperates the living room and the bedrooms. I waste no time to push Wes further from me, and take a quick breath to recollect myself.

"Mornin'." Carter says, his voice raspy. He rumbles through his hair as he raises a hand at me.

"Hey." I greet him back.

"You got my keys, sugar?" He sits down on the couch, looking like he could fall asleep at any moment. He doesn't have his sunglasses on, which makes me see the tiredness in his eyes.

"Yup." I reply and move to hand him the keys. I place them in his hand and he pushes them in the pocket of his sweatpants.

"Come down by the pool today. I feel like playing volleyball." He tells me, looking out through the balcony door.

"You look like the ball would hit you straight in the face, C." Wes comments, walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah, well. I just need two strong ass coffees." Carter gets up. "Want one, Kat?"

"No, thanks." I take his place on the couch, crossing my legs. "Aren't you leaving today?"

"I am." He replies to my question, already fumbling with the dishes in the kitchen. He grabs a cup from the counter and starts filling it with water. "But there's no rush."

"Why are you going, anyway?"

Carter and Wes share a look and I laugh out loud, raising my hands in surrender.

"Alright, alright. I don't need to know." I say.

"Ever been high, sugar?" Carter asks me.

"Yes." I reply and I can see the slight shock on his face, but it disappears quickly and is replaced by a smirk.

"Bullshit. When?" Wes raises his eyebrow. He still hasn't put any clothes on and it's bothering me.

"One summer. With Alex."

"Oh, yeah." He scoffs, turning to Carter. "That girl is fucking mad."

"Shut up, would you?" I roll my eyes at him.

"That's why they're best friends." He chuckles. I literally don't understand this guy, or this situation, or anything right now. I just know I'm confused as hell.

"Shut up, dude, come on." Carter flings a spoon at is friend and Wes just smirks, lowering his head but still keeping eye contact with me. But the way he's looking at me, God, why is he doing this? Why did he do that?

"Well, I'm leaving. I'll see you later." I wave and hurry to exit this apartment. I exhale and inhale, composing myself.

Whatever this is must be a bad trip.

Just as I exit the boys' apartment, my phone starts to ring in the pocket of my hoodie. I fetch it out to see my best friend's name on the screen and with a smile on my face I answer.

"Hey, you." I giggle. I haven't heard from Alex in a couple days and we don't text, because we think it's stupid. We prefer real talks, it's just so much better.

"You know, you don't even bother to send a picture or something. I'm out here dying and you're surrounded with hotties." She grumbles through the speaker and I can also make out the muching, so she must be eating.

"I asked you to come and you said no. Don't whine now." I tell her and make my way outside the building.

"Don't whine now." She mocks me. "Anyway, let's ignore your kindness. Hailey called me the other day and told me you, young lady, got wasted. So I wanna know, what the hell happened?"

"Oh, God." I pull my hand through my hair, letting it fall on my shoulders. "We went to a club and well, I had too much to drink. I really couldn't stop myself. No, actually, I didn't even notice I was drinking that much. And it was kinda fun. Until I passed out. Everything else is in a blur. I only know I woke up in Wes's bed where -"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Oh, shit, I didn't tell you." I place a hand over my mouth and stop walking.

"Kat, what the -"

"Don't, no, relax." I say before she yells at me. "But Wes is here as well. I had no idea until I came and Hailey couldn't have known because I never mentioned his name."

"Katherine, are you f -"

I instantly move the phone away from my ear and I'm still able to hear her loud voice, probably cursing at me. A girl jogging passes me and gives me a weird look, so I put the phone back on my ear, just in time to hear the finish of Alex's rant.

"- because you could've had a good summer and now it's ruined!"

"Alex." I sigh, wanting to calm her down even though I don't know everything she has said. "My summer is not ruined. I have Hailey and Jessica and their friends to make it fun. Besides, I'm not even paying attention to Wes."

I don't mention him being in the same group as me, because I know how much that would aggravate Alex. She would start feeling guilty for not being here with me.

"I swear, if he does anything, I am ready to pack my bags, including my boxing gloves." My best friend threatens. I open my mouth to tell her about his actions in the last couple days, but quickly decide against it.

I realise how bad I immediately feel, hiding this from her, but it would make her angry and confused. And I don't doubt the fact that she's ready to come all the way here. I also don't say anything because I know his behavior will die down as soon as he gets bored of it.

"So, tell me about the latest gossip in the Big Apple." I smile and hear her squeal, undoubtedly ready to spill the tea.
