"I never wanna lose you
And if I had to I would choose you
So stay, please always stay
You're the one that I hold onto
'Cause my heart would stop without, you"

-Miley Cyrus

My eyes stung as I opened them, the sun from my windows shining through, blinding me. I yawned loudly, stretching my arms up in the air before pushing my covers off me and stomping my way into my bathroom, not allowing myself to look in the mirror before stripping of my pyjamas then stepping in the shower.

I twisted the tap, luke-warm water spraying out of the shower head and onto my bare body, soaking my knotted hair.

I spent half an hour standing in the shower doing absolutely nothing before stepping out, turning the tap off and wrapped a towel around my small frame.

I hummed to some song as I exited my bathroom, the heat that had developed in my bathroom gushing out as I had opened the door.

I feel exhausted today, Grayson and I were out late last night, it was random but like all of our spontaneous adventures, it was amazing. It consisted of a lot of kissing and teasing, mainly me blushing and him saying his stupid innuendos.

Though, today's bittersweet as it's the day Caleb finally returns to school.

The reason for it being bittersweet is Grayson and I have to be more cautious, something we haven't been so discrete with lately, we've been walking through the halls side by side, occasionally intertwining our hands but immediately letting go when someone sees, or the constant flirting he's been doing that everyone has been noticing and the blushing it's caused me.

Not to mention the fact, I don't think Caleb is going to appreciate me sitting at his table very much.

You know, the whole "being with my sister is embarrassing" thing.

I pushed all thoughts aside, throwing on a baggy shirt and some denim jeans with a black belt, tucking the shirt in at the front before throwing my wet hair up into a ponytail and sliding on my converse.

I opened my door, walking over to Caleb's door to make sure he's ready in case he forgot. I raised my hand before lightly knocking on the door.

I heard some rustling beyond his door before it swung open, he was standing there buckling his belt before pulling his black shirt over it.

"You ready?" I asked him, leaning against his door.

He nodded, he looked extremely flustered.

"Yeah," he nodded, picking up his smashed phone off his bed.

I moved out of the way of his door as he exited his room, slamming the door behind him.

"Is Taylor getting you?" he asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, think so." I muttered, following him down the stairs.

He walked into the kitchen as I was still following behind him, he swung open the fridge grabbing an apple before taking a large bite, the apple crunching between his teeth.

I cringed, plopping myself down on one of the stools, swinging my legs back and forth.

"So," I drawled, "Are you feeling okay about going back to school."

He nodded, quite confidently, actually.

"Yeah, it'll be fine, not long left."

I nodded in agreement, "I know, it's kind of scary." I pouted.

I still don't have my license which I honestly don't think I'll ever get around to getting, I have no idea what I want to do when I finish school or what I want to be, the only mature decision I've made this year is getting a job, also Grayson, he probably wasn't the most mature decision but he definitely was a good one.

"You'll be fine, Grace, you're smart." He said softly, giving me a lopsided grin.

My shoulders slumped at the thought of becoming an adult, it doesn't sound fun.

"So are you," I replied.

He laughed loudly, whilst his mouth was still full, a chunk of apple flying to the back of his throat making his laugh cease as an extremely unpleasant sound came from his lips.

My face turned the same shade of red as his as I laughed hysterically, he ran over to the sink before spitting a chunk of barely chewed apple in the sink before turning to me with the harshest glare I've ever received.

"I was choking!" he screeched, "And you did nothing but watch and laugh!"

I held my hand over my mouth trying to cover my laugh though it didn't necessarily work.

"I'm sorry," I cried, "But you looked so scared."

He sighed, giving me a deadly fake smile, "Probably because I had a chunk of apple stuck in my throat."

I laughed louder, "I promise next time I'll shove my hand down your throat and pull it out."

He cringed, "I think I'd rather you laugh."

"But what if you die?"

"It's a win win situation."

I nodded, shrugging, "That's the most relatable thing you've ever said."

Our conversation was bought to a stop when a loud beep sounded from outside, Taylor.

"Welp, I gotta go, see you at school."

He nodded, waving at me as he finished off his apple without choking this time.

I exited the kitchen, walking through the living room before walking outside seeing Taylor's familiar car, I don't know how she handles driving that thing, I think she's the only one who could pull off driving that rusty blue thing.

"Hey," she greeted as I hopped in the passenger's seat.

"Hey,"

She began driving, the drive consisting of talk chatter and singing to the songs playing on the radio before we arrived at school, pulling in the parking lot before we hopped out.

I expected to see Grayson waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me, something he's made a routine for us, but he wasn't there.

"Where's your boo?" Taylor giggled.

I rolled my eyes, "He's not my boo,"

"Uh-huh," she hummed.

We walked up the stairs before the bell sounded and I made my way to my first period class.

I starred at myself in the mirror of the bathroom at the diner, feeling bloated and gross as I flattened my skirt out and finished buttoning up my shirt, trying to tame my frizzy hair though it wasn't working out for me.

Grayson didn't show up to school today, which is fine, maybe he had something going on which is completely none of my business it's just odd for him, his attendance is surprisingly just as good as mine if not better.

I was worried, I guess but I tried not to be because I don't really have a right to be worried, he's not officially mine yet, he's not my boyfriend.

It didn't help that it was Caleb's first day back and I assumed that Grayson would've been there for it, maybe I'm just overthinking as always.

"Grace, you alright in there?" Cam's soft voice sounded from the opposite side of the door.

I nodded before realising she can't see me, "Yeah, I'm fine, thank you."

I opened the door, walking out in the uniform, holding my pile of clothing I wore at school in my arms before shoving it in my side bag and shoving it in one of the cubby-holes.

"I feel fat," I murmured, patting my stomach.

Cam rolled her eyes, "Shut up," she glared, "You look as slim as always now get serving."

I rolled my eyes but nodded before exiting the break room and grabbing my note pad and pen, walking out into the seating area before walking over to a guy in a leather jacket and ripped jeans, he kind of looked like Grayson but less attractive obviously.

"Afternoon, I'm Grace, your waitress for today. Is there anything I can get you?" I asked politely.

He removed his eyes from the menu before directing his eyes to me, a smirk appearing on his lips.

"You," he licked his lips.

I blushed, "I'm sorry but that's not on the—"

"—menu, I know." He chuckled, "Just shooting my shot, sorry."

I smiled awkwardly, usually girls in this situation would say "I have a boyfriend," though I wasn't sure what to say, my stomach felt like it was about to explode, and my patience was relatively low, I just want to take his order and avoid every form of contact.

"Uhm I'll have the grilled cheese and a chocolate milkshake,"

I smiled, nodding as I jotted it down on my notepad.

"Is that all?"

He nodded, not removing his eyes off me.

"I'll be right back with your order," I smiled tightly before walking back into the kitchen and clipping his order up.

A few minutes passed, and his order was ready, I grabbed a tray and carefully placed his milkshake and grilled cheese on the plate with a few neatly folded napkins on the side.

I walked over to his table placing it in front of him.

"Here's your order,"

He licked his lips as he stared at the meal in front of him, "Thank you,"

I smiled before my eyes scanned the diner for any other customers that needed to be served when I heard the bell ring, signalling someone entering the diner.

I turned my head, my eyes widening as I saw Grayson entering the diner with a frown on his face and messy yet attractive hair.

He was wearing an all black outfit with converse, yet I think it's the most attractive thing I've ever seen him wear, so simple yet it looked like a million dollars on his body.

His eyes instantly met mine, his frown forming into a large grin.

He walked over to me, placing his hands on my waist instantly.

"Gracie, baby." He whispered.

I grinned widely, the biggest smile ever was on my lips.

"I missed you," Grayson said sincerely.

I blushed, "I missed you too," I said nervously, "But, I've got to work." I slapped his hands off my waist.

He pouted, "Finish early and come home with me?"

I sighed but shook my head, "Tempting, but I can't."

If I hadn't spent all last night with him, I'd consider saying yes but I can't just leave work early and go somewhere with Grayson as much as I want to.

"Grayson?" the guy I had just served said.

"Ryder?" Grayson replied, diverting his attention to this guy.

What?

I stood there quietly, watching as this Ryder guy stood up, giving each other a quick hug and pat on the back.

"It's been a while," Ryder said.

Grayson nodded, his hair falling over his eyes, "I know,"

I cleared my throat, both Ryder and Grayson's eyes snapping towards me.

"Shit, sorry, this is my cousin, Ryder," he said, "Ryder, this is my girlfriend, Grace."

My eyes widened.

Girlfriend? And, cousin?

"Girlfriend?" Ryder and I both said at the exact same time.

Grayson nodded, slinging his arm over my shoulders.

Ryder's eyes widened, "Damn,"

I shrugged Grayson's arm off my shoulders, instantly feeling overwhelmed with butterflies.

"Ryder you have a girl,"

"Flo?" Ryder asked with raised eyebrows, "Nah."

The conversation dulled down, and I was finally able to speak.

"Gray?" I asked, his nodded, "Is there anything I can get you?"

"Just the usual, baby." He said.

I nodded, walking away extremely fast you'd think a bear was chasing me or something.

This is my girlfriend, Grace.

What the actual fudge, since when? Is this just one of those possessive guy things or does he assume we're dating or am I just majorly missing something?

I pulled myself together before writing down Grayson's usual order: a cheeseburger and coke.

He's been here enough times I know exactly what he wants, it's always the same thing.

I ripped the piece of paper off the notepad, hanging it up before grabbing another tray and placing the napkins on the side, waiting for a minute before his order was ready, I placed the burger on the plate and the glass of coke with ice next to it before slowly exiting the kitchen to see Grayson seated across from Ryder.

I placed it down in front of him, "Here's your order."

He smiled up at me, "Thanks, Gracie."

I smiled back before turning on my heel, about to walk away when he placed his hand on my wrist stopping me.

"When do you finish?" he asked.

"Eight."

"I'm taking you somewhere afterwards." He stated.

I nodded, feeling all giddy inside before walking off.

Today has been so weird, first he wasn't at school then Grayson's cousin, Ryder flirted with me then I got claimed as his girlfriend and now he's taking me somewhere.

What the hell?
