imagine telling jackson you're pregnant.
you roamed the halls of seattle grace hospital looking for arizona. you needed to ask a favour. recently, you'd been feeling really sick, your appetite was changing and you can't remember when your last period was.
when you finally found her, you asked if she had any free time to do a scan, and being the amazingly sweet person she is, she agreed.
"what does it say?" your hands where shaking, arizona looked at you, and you already knew. "y/n, you're pregnant. 3 weeks." tears rolled down your cheeks. you didn't know whether they were happy tears or sad tears.
"do you know who the father is? is he around?" you put your hand in your hands and sighed. you and jackson had only been dating 3 months and no one really knew. you thought about what he would say. would he be happy? would he be upset? would he leave?
"yeah, he's-yh-hes around." you stared at the floor, while the paediatrician stared at you, a slight sadness in her eyes. "it's jackson. jackson's the dad." you started to cry. part of you was happy, you were having a child with the man you loved. but you were also sad, because it wasn't the right time. "you're going to be okay. he'll understand, you just need to talk to him."
you thanked the blonde and hurried through the halls looking for jackson. after 20 mins of searching, you found him in the locker room, getting something from his bag. he looked at you and smiled, it disappearing after seeing how upset you looked.
"hey, what's up? you okay?" he softly asked, his hands on your shoulders, sitting you down on the wooden bench. "we...we need to talk." he sighed, taking his hands away from your shoulders and placing them on his head. "okay..about what?"
you stared at your shaking hands, scared of what his reaction was going to be. "jackson, i'm pregnant. and..it's yours. i-i'm s-sorry." you stared to cry, while the soon to be father stared in shock.
"pregnant?" you nodded, apologising, though you didn't know what you were apologising for. "hey. hey, y/n, baby look at me." you turned and faced him, his hands holding your cheeks, wiping away the salty tears from your puffy face. you stared into his green, watery eyes, trying to read what he was feeling.
"hey. listen to me, okay? it's going to be okay. i know you're scared, and i am too. terrified, actually. but we'll make it work, i want to make it work. you know why?"
"....n-no."
"because i love you, y/n. and i want to be with you, and i want to have this baby with you, if that's what you want, of course." he smiled, waiting for an answer. you let out a small laugh, nodding.
"that's what i want. i-i want this b-baby with you. i'm just..just scared."
"so am i, baby. it's going to be okay, though. we're strong. it's maybe not the best time, but we'll get through this. i love you, y/n y/l/n."
"i love you too, jackson avery."
