I wake up on a hard and cold floor, Masie is laying next to me, I softly turn her over and let out a sigh of relief to see her chest rise and fall. We're in an unfamiliar room, it's empty other than two buckets in the corner and a small window but bars block it from both sides, I try ripping them off but let a huff of frustration out, I give up and slide down the wall, trying to stay calm
"Mommy?" Masie whimpers sitting up
"Over here sweetie" I reassure her, opening my arms and she crawls over to me so I can set her in my lap, rubbing her back
"My face hurts" she says, I look at her and see the big purple bruise on her cheek, I softly rub it
"I know. It won't hurt forever, it'll heal" I tell her, kissing her forehead
"I want daddy" she says, starting to cry, I hold her tightly
"I do too. Don't worry, we'll get out of here" I reassure her, and we will, that I'm sure of.

Peeta
I look at the bodies, men, women, children, babies. My eyes don't leave my best friend and little sisters dead bodies, I've grown a new hate for Gale, he has no idea who he's messing with. I tear my eyes away and go into the pack house, slamming the front door shut, breaking it off it's hinges but that's the last thing I care about. I punch a wall and scream out, cursing the goddess who cursed me with Gale in my path
"Peeta?" I turn and see Johanna, a saddened look on her face
"Get. Out. I want to be alone" I growl
"Look I understand wha—" she starts but I don't want her sympathy
"No, you don't! Gale has tormented me and this pack for years! He murdered my family! Tormented me for years! He took the last that makes me happy! Katniss and Masie are everything to me! So no! You don't understand! No just do me a favour and leave me the fuck alone" I yell, storming into the den, slamming the doors but not too much to break the hinges.
I pace around the room trying to think, I know Gale isn't dumb enough to go back to where him and his pack live. Katniss Masie are relying on me to come for them and I will, I'm going to figure it out. I sit in the chair, looking at the photo of Masie and Katniss in my wallet, I take it out and put my wallet back in my pocket, I smile sadly down at my picture
"I'm going to find the both of you. I promise" I hear someone enter and by the scent I know who it is, I stand up and turn to see a broken Annie, I open my arms and she runs into them crying
"I... he..." she cries hysterically in my arms
"Shhhh, it's okay. It's going to be okay" I reassure her, I hold her till she stops crying, she pulls away and wipes her wet face
"He took them, didn't he?" She asks, I nod, she grabs me by the shoulders
"I believe in you. You'll find them and when you do. You bring Gale here, his pack members, I want them all to die, slow. They murdered Finnick in front of his son, Flynn isn't speaking to anyone, not even me. He ruined this pack and we're going to ruin him. I want you to promise me something" she says
"Of course, whatever you need" I reply
"I want to be the one who kills him" she growls, I'm shocked because Annie was always against violence and always thought talking it out and negotiating is better
"Are you sure? I mean—"
"I'm sure. He's ruined my life and my sons life in the worst way possible. I want to do it" she confirms
"Then he's all yours, I promise. I promise I'll find him, he's going to regret every decision he's ever made" I promise her and bring her in for a hug to reassure her that I'll stick to my promise to her.
Katniss
"Hey! Let us out of here!" I bang on the steel door but nothing happens, one last bang I turn around, I frown as Masie holds her belly
"My tummy hurts" she whimpers, I rush over to her and pick her up, hugging her close to me
"I know, sweetie. Just hold on, we'll be okay, I promise" I reply, sitting down with her, we're both hungry after being here for a day but we haven't been given food and it's killing me that Masie is going hungry. We're here for two days and already extremely hungry and dehydrated, then a slot from the bottom of the door opens and a cup with paper attached slides under it and the slot closes, I crawl over to it and pick up the note
I'm here to help you and your girl.
This water is fresh, I promise. My next shift is next week
I'll bring food then, I'll try sneaking you guys water
when I can, I'm here to help, you can
trust me.
Tap three times when you're done, I'll get the cup
hide the note.

I look at the cup in doubt, I take a sip first just so I can be sure and my eyes grow wide when the freshness of the water fills my mouth. I crawl back over to Masie and wake her up from her sleep
"Drink this, baby" I coo her, I help her drink from the cup until there's a little bit left and I drink the rest, I put the note in my pocket and place the cup where the slot is and I tap it three times, as it opens I take the chance to ask a question
"Why are you helping me?" I whisper before they could shut the slot
"You deserve better than this" a girls voice whispers before shutting the slot again, I crawl back to Masie and she lays her head on my lap. We refused to go to the toilet in the buckets, they at least had somewhat of a heart to let us use a toilet when we needed to go
"I miss daddy" Masie whispers
"I know... so do I. We'll make it through this, Masie. You're the daughter of an alpha, you can get through this with me" I reassure her, she lets out a sigh and nods, I lean back with a sigh and my eyes eventually brings me to my dream land
"Long time no see" I look down and see a white wolf, Alex...
"Hey, sorry I haven't taken you out for a run in a while" I sigh, patting behind her ear, I look around and notice I'm in some kind of meadow, before I can ask questions I see a figure walking up to us, my eyes tear up when I see who it is
"Peeta!" I run towards him but his holding his hands in front of him, yelling something and I notice that he's telling me to stop, I realise it's because there's a barrier stopping me from getting to him and I start banging on it, Alex whimpering and scratching trying to get to Peetas wolf who sits by Peeta whimpering helplessly
"Katniss, it's okay. We're too far away from each other to touch" he calms me, placing his hand on the barrier, I place mine where his is
"I miss you..." I whisper
"I miss you too, I'm coming for you and Masie, I promise" he says
"How's she doing? How are you both doing?" He asks
"We're fine, someone on Gales side is helping us. She gave us water, fresh water. It won't last, someone or Gale will notice that Masie and I aren't dying, we're on borrowed time. I'm going to try and sneak Masie out. I'll tell her how to get to you" tears fall down my cheek because I know I can't go with her
"What? No! Don't... don't do that. Just give me a few days and I'll figure it out. Please... I can't lose you Katniss, Masie can't lose her mother" he replies
"I love you... so much. We both know that you don't have the time you think. I wish I could kiss you one last time... hug you at least. I need to protect our daughter, look after her, teach her how to fight, how to use her senses. Don't let her forget me" I whimper
"Katniss! I'm not saying goodbye! Just let us come for you! I love you too much to let you leave us" now Peetas the one banging on the barrier, I look down at Alex who looks up at me and she tells me if she's on board or not
"Let's save our pup"
