A tear slips down my cheek, leaving a wet trail on my skin. I shut my eyes, trying to think everything through. Every moment runs through my mind. Every mistake. Every feeling. Every emotion. Every heartache. Silently, another tear trails down the side of my face as someone knocks on the door.
"Ambi?" a cautious male voice asks. "It's me." A sob escapes my mouth as I realize who it is. Untangling myself from the sheets, I run to the door. My tangled hair whips behind me as I swing the door open and leap into the arms of the curly brunette I missed so much.
"Lucas," I choke out.
"Hey, I heard what happened," he whispers, kissing the top of my head. "It's gonna be alright."
"It won't," I say as a sob heaves my body. "I can't think. I can't figure this out."
"Hey hey hey," he whispers, pulling my face so I can look at him. "You are the smartest big sister I know. Boy problems? Pssht, give me a real challenge."
"It is a real challenge!"
"Just do what makes you happy," he says with a small smile.
"Are you telling me to do him?" I ask, grateful for a reason to smile.
Gasping, "Heavens to Betsy, no!" he says, winking. "Pursue what your heart desires. Selena Gomez said it best, 'The Heart Wants What It Wants.'"
"Why can't we just get over ourselves?" I sigh as I shut the door, finally waking up from my nightmarish stupor.
I'm so sorry for not updating in so long. But hey, NEW TWIST! I just haven't had the inspiration to right much. But currently, at 12:30 at night, here's my short inspiration. I know it doesn't make up for the month of missed updates but here you go.
