Chapter 11:
The week went past peacefully and fast, the girls at school were starting to hate me less which made me more at ease. Everyday so far this week Xavier had picked me up from school, carried my books for me, dropped me off at class and picked me up again. I enjoyed every minute with him and craved to be close to him. I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. It had finally come to the weekend, Cayley, Travis and Xavier were hanging by my pool in the backyard. I had brought my stereo out and pumped the tunes. The boys were being boys and having a very competitive swimming race, while Cayley and I sunbaked. I had been waiting all week for a sunny day and I had finally gotten one.
"Ay, Babe" hollered Travis.
Cayley raised her sunglasses above her head looking at Travis with a raised eyebrow. He grinned like an idiot before splashing water at her. She squealed as she sat up and glared at him. I couldn't help myself but laugh. I was laughing so hard that I didn't notice when Xavier hoped out of the pool and came up behind me. He held me in his arms, he was soaking wet and I squealed as he chuckled. With my quick thinking I grabbed some sunscreen and squirted it all over his chest. He held me firmly against him with one hand while he wiped some sunscreen off his chest and wiped it all over me. I laughed a wriggled out of his reach.
"Xavier. No. No. No" I laughed as I backed up and Xavier came towards me with his arms wide, soaking in water and sunscreen. I was standing by the edge of the pool when he grabbed me and plunged both of us in the water.\'a0I clung to him until we reached the surface and I started laughing. Xavier laughed with me and then started trailing kisses along my neck and jaw. He pulled back and stared deeply into my eyes, I smiled and gave his a small peck on the lips.
"Let me take you to dinner." he said softly.
I nodded, not being able to speak. He chuckled seeming to understand that he left me speechless. "I'll take that as a yes."
I smiled meekly and then crushed my lips against his. He kissed me back holding me close to his body. My heart tugged when he pulled away, and let me go. I decided to then take a swim seeing as I was already in the water. I dolphin kicked to the other end of the pool and got out quickly grabbing my towel and sitting back down on my banana lounge. Cayley and finally gotten over being splashed and was sun baking again. I grabbed my sunglasses from under my banana lounge and started to relax. I giggled when Crissy came passed and licked my face. Today was pure heaven and I was utterly and totally happy.
A few hours later Cayley and Travis left saying they were going on a date and I showered and got ready. I let Xavier get ready in the spare bathroom. I decided on wearing a black cocktail dress with noodle straps and just ended mid thigh and to go with that I picked out 5 inch, nude high heels. I went on with curling and pinning my hair to the side and then I applied some make-up. About half hour later I was finished and ready to go. I quickly gathered my purse putting in my phone lip gloss and keys. When I got down stairs I heard my mum in the kitchen talking. I walked in and found her making a quick meal and Xavier sitting at the kitchen island, he looked so rugged in formal casual, his burgundy skinny jeans and loose top and a black blazer he was wearing a pair of Nike high-tops. He wasn't wearing that when he came over early today but when I noticed his backpack on the floor beside him I knew he had planned this. When Xavier saw me he froze, his eyes showed admiration and a smirk tugged at his lips, I blushed crimson, and started playing with my hair. My mum gasped.
"Honey you look absolutely stunning!" she said as she rushed over to me and grabbed my hands.
I smiled at her and then turned back to Xavier. He stood up and walked over to me. Mum backed away and covered her mouth with her hand her eyes watering as Xavier wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my temple.
"Mum please don't cry!" I told her softly.
She shook her head and moved her head revealing a smile. "I won't cry, I'm just happy for you sweet heart."
I pulled away from Xavier and hugged my mum squeezing her tight. I pulled back to look at her, her smile wider than ever. "Go have fun" she said.
I kissed her cheek and walked back over to Xavier. Mum handed Xavier his back pack and gave him a quick hug.
"Take care of my baby." she said to him softly.
Xavier gave her a soft smile. "Always, I promise Hannah"
"OK you kids go and have fun," she said as she went back to her cooking.
Xavier looked down and me and intertwined his hand with mine. "You ready to go?"
I nodded, and Xavier walked us to the front door. As we stepped out side I felt a bit of a chill from the wind, Xavier pulled my close my body instantly warmed.
I smiled up at him. "So were are you taking me?"
"Well my parents are back from their trip to Romania and they've been dying to meet you. I tried to tell them it was to soon but they insisted that I bring you to dinner" he said sternly.
Automatically nerves spiked throughout my body. I didn't mind meeting Xavier parents, I was actually very excited to me the people who had raised such a wonderful son. What made me nervous was having to see Xavier's brother, Luca, he scared me and I didn't know why but I had a feeling he wanted me gone.
"Will your brother be there?" I croaked not being able to speak properly my mouth was so dry.
Xavier nodded slowly, holding me closer to him. "I don't want you to worry Selena, I promise he won't lay a finger on you. I won't let him."
I knew Xavier was telling the truth and that comforted me. I knew I was safe with him. Xavier opened the car door for me and I quickly hopped in buckling up. Xavier got in the car and turned it on, the engine purred to life and he fixed the heater so that I wasn't cold. He pulled out the drive way and we headed for his house.
"My sister Cira, will be there as well" he said suddenly.
I looked up at him. "I didn't know you had a sister."
He chuckled. "It never came up, but don't worry I know she'll love you. She's very easy to get along with." I smiled being calmed by that.
Our conversation was light during the car ride and I got to learn more about Xavier's family. I learned that Xavier's sister Cira had a boyfriend but wouldn't be at the dinner because of work and that Xavier's parents, Claus and Maria, had been with each other for many years, they used to be best friends and then developed feelings for each other and ended up falling in love. Xavier's parents seemed so welcoming and loving especially with how involved they were in Xavier's life, they alway went to his soccer games as a kid, encouraged him in school and only wanted the best for him.
We finally arrived at Xavier's house, this time I waited until Xavier came around to my side and opened the door for me. I didn't want another recap of his guard dogs. Not soon after when I got out of the car did I heard their barking. They rounded the corner of the house and I stayed close to Xavier. The dogs ended up skidding to a holt and when they came near me they wagged their tails and barked, these barks sounded like happy barks not ones I should be fearful of, Xavier chuckled.
"They now know you're not an intruder" he explained.
The guard dogs looked up at me their tongues hanging out of their mouth and there tails now wagging like crazy. I cautiously reached out my hand palm up letting them sniff my hand. After the stopped sniffing they licked my hand and one of them came closer leaning into me begging to get a belly rub. I obliged and bent down scratching his massive belly, When I scratched the right spot his leg went wild. I giggled. "What's his name?"
"That's Costin and she is Alina" he said. I reached my hand out to Alina and she licked it then nuzzled her snout into my hand. In that moment I wasn't scared of them any more, I was in love with them.
After I finished scratching Costin we decided to go inside. Costin wasn't happy that I had to go and kept whimpering begging for another belly rub. When he tried to follow us into the house Xavier, him a curt command in Romanian and Costin bowed his head low and walked away with Alina following him. Xavier held my hand and led me into the house, again I was amazed by the inside. It was even more beautiful than I remembered it to be. Xavier quietly shut the door behind us and started leading me to the living room, when I heard a door from upstairs slam shut and high heels sounding down the hall.
"Great, I was hoping I would be able to have you to myself for a bit before you had to met the family, looks like I was wrong" muttered Xavier.
"That's rude brother" sighed a melodic voice. I turned around to see a stunning young girl with soft blonde curls and mesmerizing blue eyes. She was tall in her black high heels and her blood red dress hugged her curves and showed off how slim she was. She gave me a smile and held out her hand. "I'm Cira" she said.
