"Today is the day, Layla. You're finally getting out of hell!" Liza said excitedly, a Spanish accent laced in her voice which always seemed to sound really intriguing to everybody—even including Layla.

Layla smiled softly, nodding as her fingertips stroked her belly, feeling as if a knife had cut her heart deeply, confusion filled her up as she did not know if she should feel happiness or rage.

Liza had always helped her to become better at fighting and shooting, she felt like Liza was her older sister as time passed, she had grown to like Liza and she even had a special spot in Layla's heart, which is really difficult to earn from her. "This time, nothing is going to stop me from getting my freedom Liza. And soon, you'll be joining me." Layla said in a happy voice, something she had never done in her life.

Liza smiled brightly, showing her appreciation and love in one smile, then her expression changed fast, "What are you going to do with the baby?" She asked.

It hit her heart.

Very deeply.

"I—I don't know. I feel miserable for thinking about an abortion, I can't kill something so innocent Liza." Layla said, her voice barely above as a whisper, she felt her heart break all over again as she felt disgusted by herself for thinking like that. "I haven't gone through the same thing to give you some decent advice, but I'd suggest you to listen to your heart. Only your heart knows what's best for the both of you."

Liza was right. This was a thing only for Layla's heart could decide, but the constant frustration and fear was eating her up alive slowly. She pushed these thoughts away, thinking about her escape plan as she recited a prayer, hoping that it would work.

Just as Layla was going to stand up to leave, Alejandro entered the room, surprising the two women, he leaned against the door he had closed behind him, "Well, hello there ladies." He said with a devilish handsome smirk playing on his lips, which made Layla wonder how a person could have such devilishly handsome looks as him. "I've some good new for you, Layla." He said, which made her eyebrows furrow in wonder and confusion, "I am coming with you! I can arrange a place where you can stay and so on, I could help you to build a new and amazing life."

Layla was taken aback with the news she had just heard, a smile of joy lasted for a second on her lips as she responded, "You really don't have to come with me Alejandro, I can help myself and I don't want to put you guys in danger than you guys already are." She responded, she did not want to pull other people that she cared about into this matter, it would only worsen the situation and these would be added to her regret-list, which she was thinking about since she could really think.

"Oh shush! I  know what is going on in that pretty little head of yours, you guys get out of here and I will join you guys when my job is done here, understood?" Liza said with a commanding tone, which made Alejandro and Layla say 'Yes ma'am!' in the same time, making Liza laugh. "Good. Now go back to your positions, we'll need every single energy in our bones tonight."

After a tiring day of fighting and taking more lives to add to her shelf of sins, Layla got ready for bed while she smiled viciously in her mind, she watched Dimitri slowly drifting to sleep, "Come here." He demanded in a hoarse tone, she stood up and did as she was told and lay next to him as he wrapped his disgusting arms around her waist. She squeezed her eyes tightly shut for a second, managing to control her boiling anger, she started to relax as the thought about escaping tonight comforted her.

She smirked as she saw him drifting into sleep here more. She made sure that he'd sleep early and wouldn't wake up until she got out of there, she had spiked his drink without anyone noticing it. Alejandro was going to meet her at the gates of the mansion and Liza was going to stay here and keep them updated until they came back with more power than ever, so Layla could get her sweet revenge once and for all.

Dimitri was now sound asleep, shifting away from his form, she got out of the bed quietly as she walked to his side of the bed, she took the handcuffs and cuffed his hands to the bed, making sure that he wouldn't get out of the bed fast. She changed into a black pullover and black denim jeans as she slipped into her black boots, she loved to wear the color black and this color would hide her perfectly in the darkness of the night. Taking her bag with her, she put on her jacket as she armed herself with Dimitri's gun and slowly opened the door, checking if no one was there, she walked towards the exit carefully.

Liza had disabled all of the cameras around the mansion, making it easier for Alejandro and Layla. Layla's heartbeats quickened as she unlocked the door, finally feeling free after a whole year of prison in hell, she walked to the gates quickly as Alejandro was waiting for her there as promised. Layla exhaled a deep breath as she stood in front of him now, he wrapped his arms around her which surprised her as she was in his warm embrace. "I'm glad you trusted me." He said softly, making her feel his sincerity and gratitude with just his warm and protective embrace. "Thank you for helping me get out of here."

Alejandro smiled as they let go of each other, Layla returned his smile, which left him adoring her smile, which she never had done until now. "You should really smile more often, princesa." He smirked, "Mhm, alright let's go lover boy." She smirked as he chuckled lowly, they both got into his car.

Alejandro drove off fast, Layla looked around and her gaze landed to the night sky through the window, she felt as if the stars were shining too bright tonight, showing her the happiness of her well deserved freedom she had craved since she could think. All of this felt like a dream she would wake out of eventually, it felt so unreal to believe this, she could not believe that she finally escaped the devil's tight grasp.

Did she even want to believe this?

No, she did not want to, because all of the things she had believed in always betrayed her. She thought she'd fall in love, get married and then lose her virginity to the man she loved, but now, she was sure that these would never happen after everything Dimitri had done to her. He tainted her in his own devilish ways, slowly tearing her apart as he let her soul slip into the deep-end more, resulting in numbness to be born inside her, a paralyzing feeling overtaking her entire soul.

She was interrupted in her thoughts as the car came to a halt in front of a house, it rather looked like a mansion than a house, which made Layla wonder if every single human being in the mafia owned a mansion. "Welcome to the mansion of Alejandro Gonzalez!" Alejandro announced proudly as he opened the car-door for her, she chuckled and exited the car with her bag in her hands, "You must be loaded too, huh?" She asked in a mocking voice, which made Alejandro chuckle as he started to walk, making Layla follow him closely. "Well, I've been pretty successful in my business for a few years." He told her, leading her to a room as she looked around everywhere, memorizing every luxurious spot so she wouldn't get lost in this big mansion which screamed pure luxury in a very modern and pretty way.

"You won't be found here, nobody knows where I am living, so it is safe here." He said as he opened a door, which led to a luxuriously pretty bedroom which was only decorated in dark colors like black and a really dark red, it seemed like royalty, the room alone had an aura of power.

Wait, did he know that these colors were Layla's favorite?

"I've let my maids decorate this room like you told Liza about." He said. Of course Liza would tell him, she thought. She had only talked about her favorite colors when Liza and her were getting to know each other, but she didn't know Liza would tell her straightaway.

"I'm only going to stay here for a short amount of time, Alejandro. So why waste your money and time for decorating a room for me?" She rather stated than asked, "Ugh, zip it Layla. You're like my little sis, and you deserve every single good thing, so please don't complain and enjoy your stay here. I'll leave you alone now, we'll discuss everything after breakfast tomorrow, good night." Alejandro stated as he turned away, already leaving before Layla could say something back.

She closed the door behind her and jumped on the king sized bed, inhaling deeply as she enjoyed the air of freedom. She felt so happy and free, but it felt so unreal at the same time, it felt like this was a little scenario which would be replaced by darkness soon.
