We had driven back from hotel and Jonas had dropped me off at school Monday morning. He got out of the car and shoved his hands in his pockets looking at me with pain in his eyes. Neither of us say anything to each other. Instead I walk up to him and wrap my arms around him.
"Just promise you'll come back, that you won't stay away" I mumble into his chest.
"I promise lulu, I'll be back soon." He whispers pulling me closer to him.
I sniffle and fight the tears. I didn't want him to leave but I knew he needed to.
"I love you" I tell him
He kisses the top of my head.
"I love you too baby, more than anything. I'll text you and call you everyday, I promise"
I didn't know why but I felt like I was losing him.
"Be safe okay" I tell him as we pull away.
He nods his head and kisses my forehead.
"Tell your parents I said hi"
He places his hands on the side of my face.
"You're making it impossible to walk away from you right now" he says with a raspy voice
I smirk before standing on my tiptoes and kissing him, deeply. This was going to be the last time I kissed him for a whole week, I wanted to have something to remember.
A groan forms in the back of his throat and his arms tighten around my body as he deepens the kiss.
"I'm really gonna miss your body heat" I say which causes a laugh to escape his lips.
He leans down and kisses me one more time before he pulls away and holds my hands in his.
"It's not forever, just a few days. Text me when you get done with school okay?"
I nod my head.
"I'm sorry, I know why you're doing it I just-" I pause
"You just what lulu?"
"Things were finally starting to look up again, we got back together and we are happy, I don't think I can handle being away from you anymore Jonas."
"I know, but this isn't going to change anything I promise you that. And if we can wait three years I'm sure we can handle a week more" he says with a grin.
"I hate when you're right" I grumble
He chuckles and kisses me one final time.
"Now you better get to class lulu, I don't want you being late"
I pull away from him and turn on my heel heading into the school. When I look over my shoulder, I see Jonas standing there watching me with a smile on his face. I wave at him and he waves back before I turn back around and walk into the school. I can handle a week.

"Lacey what's wrong? You've been sulking all day." Drew asks as I sit at the lunch table.
"My boyfriend is leaving for a week" I mumble
Wes appears followed by Benji, Bryce and Sid.
"Lacey's upset because her lover boy is leaving for a week" Drew whispers at them, loud enough for me to hear.
I glare at him and he puts his hands up in surrender.
"Drew leave her alone" Nova says sitting down in between Wes and I
She wraps an arm around my body and gives me a side hug.
"Don't worry Lace, he'll be back, it's not forever"
I groan.
"That's what he kept saying, but it's only been a few hours and I already miss him."
"Well that's what happens when your madly in love babe" Wes pipes up.
I drop my head on the table with a thunk.
Nova rubs my back and then my phone pings.
I quickly sit up and pull my phone out of my pocket.
J❤️- Hey lulu, I miss you already.
Me- I miss you too, ☹️ can't this week go by faster?
J❤️- it will babygirl, just get yourself busy, hang out with Nova and Spencer. And next thing you know I'll be back.
Me- I'd rather be cuddling with you.
J❤️- damn lulu, don't say that stuff.
Me- what stuff? 🤔
J❤️- you know what lulu, don't be evil.
Me- 👿😝😝😍
J❤️- you're a goof, my goof.
Me- I love you.❤️
J❤️- love you too lulu❤️
I put my phone back in my pocket and try to hide the grin that appears on my face.
"Was that lover boy?" Drew asks
"Shut up idiot" Bryce says smacking him in the back of the head
"Ow! What the hell!" Drew says
I just chuckle.
"Well little Miss Freak, you haven't learned your lesson yet?" A high pitched voice says behind me.
I turn around and come face to face with Joanna and her goons.
"What do you want Joanna?" Wes asks
"I came over here to talk to the freak." She retorts not taking her eyes off of me.
I narrow my eyes at her.
"Awww little freak is getting mad, what are you gonna do? Run me over?" She asks cackling.
"Back off Joanna" Wes says standing up.
Benji puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Please I think the little freak can handle herself. Unless she's to much of a coward to admit it."
"Knock it off Joanna!" Benji snaps at her
"Shut up!" She screams at him
"You're no better Benjamin!" She adds
I grab his hand to hold him back from ripping her eyes out.
"Benji don't, she's not worth it" I tell him
Joanna scoffs.
"I'm not worth it? Please. Bitch I'm not the freak that ruins people's lives!" She screams at me.
Tears start stinging my eyes. I wasn't going to let her cry.
"Joanna back off before you get hurt" Nova says
Joanna narrows her eyes at me and takes at step closer to me. She picks up the fruit punch Gatorade that I was drinking and pours it over my head, staining my white shirt.
"That's it!" Nova screams standing up and charging after her, before she can make it Wes grabs her by the waist and stops her.
"Not here babe" he says to her.
Nova shrinks back, but never stops glaring at Joanna.
"I hope you rot in hell you bitch" She screams at me before stomping away.
Every face in the cafeteria was on us, on me. I was completely embarrassed, she got what she wanted. To humiliate me.
"Lace" Nova says putting a hand on my shoulder.
I brush it off and stand before running out of the cafeteria. I keep running until I make it into the girls bathroom where I collapse on the floor and sob. I pull my knees to my chest and bury my face into them, letting my tears soak my pants.
Shortly after the bathroom door opens and a pair of uggs are standing in front of me. I look up at the person. It was someone I didn't know, but was really familiar.
"Lacey?" She asks in a sweet voice.
"I'm fine" I respond
She sits in front of me on the floor and I can finally see her fully. She had brown eyes and auburn hair, a few freckles scattered on her face and her complexion was perfect.
"That wasn't right of her, you didn't deserve that, no matter what she says. The accident wasn't your fault."
"Yeah but the person whose to blame doesn't go here anymore"
"Then you'd think she'd blame Benji and treat him like garbage."
I stay silent and rest my chin on my knees.
"I'm Maya"
I smile at her and she smiles back.
She sits with me on the bathroom floor and doesn't leave, even after the bell rings for our next class. I didn't know who she was, but I'm glad she was here with me.
