Any other time Kat would've been happy to be in England.
It was her one of her favorite places in the world- right next to Singapore.
But now being here with the risk of bumping into Tom (even if it was a one in a million chance) she wanted to get out as soon as possible.
It definitely didn't help that the paparazzi were already waiting for her when she got to Heathrow airport.
"Are you here to see Tom?"
"Are you two official yet?"
"What about Zendaya?"
Kat managed to push through them and ignore all questions, making it to the waiting car in no time, letting out a frustrated sigh as she settled in.
"If only they knew," Alex scoffed, putting her seatbelt on.
"Hello to you too," Carter huffed as he drove off.
Joey turned around excitedly from the passenger seat, "Girls!"
"Hey babies!"
"Thanks for picking us up."
"Of course," she smiled, "Did you two really party last night?"
"I unfortunately underestimated how many small tight dresses I have to make the girls force me into going out," Kat huffed.
"I may have gotten you a few of those dresses and snuck them in while you were in the shower."
"I knew it! I knew I couldn't have had that many dresses!"
"So wait. You've been going out every night?" Carter asked, "For what? To show Tom you can do the same thing he's doing or to drown out your sadness?"
"I wish it was to get revenge on Tom," Alex scoffed, "She refused to sleep with any guy we tried to set her up with."
"They tried to set me up with 4 guys every night."
"They were just options," Alex defended, "You were supposed to ditch three then take my guy home."
"Well excuse me I'd rather not sleep around with total strangers."
"Even though Tom's been doing that?"
Joey simply smacked the back of Carter's head who groaned in pain, quick to say his apologies but the damage had already been done.
Tom would not leave Kat's mind.
"You think I'll bump into him while I'm here?"
"What? No! Why would you?"
"Did you tell him you were here?"
"No," Kat frowned, "We haven't spoken in a couple of days."
"Then you will not bump into him in the week that we're here."
"I don't know, a week seems like enough time," Carter mumbled.
"What is wrong with you?" Joey asked her boyfriend wide-eyed who mouthed an apology.
"He's just telling the truth," Kat sighed deeply, laying back, "With my luck, I'll bump into Tom today."
"Oh please. You're telling me after years of wishing you could bump into him and not getting that but now that you wish you won't- you'll get it?"
Kat only nodded, making Alex roll her eyes.
"Well, calm down. It's not going to happen."
Alex wished she didn't say anything.
She didn't think anything of Tom when she decided to pick a popular yet small place to eat in London.
But what she didn't know when she came up with a list of where to eat while they were in London was that Tom often frequented these places on his days off.
Maybe they could've left before Tom arrived if Alex didn't insist on getting dessert but she just had to have that chocolate filled cake, which gave Tom and Harrison the perfect time to come into the small restaurant, Tom quick to spot Kat.
He would be able to spot her anywhere now, even though Harrison didn't necessarily believe him as they approached the table.
"Kat?"
They were so close to leaving so Kat was standing as she waited impatiently for her best friend to finish, stiffening up when she heard his voice.
"Fuck," Alex whispered, finishing her last bite of the cake while Kat slowly turned around.
"T-Tom."
He laughed, quick to bring her into a tight hug.
Kat remained stiff, barely getting a chance to hug back when he pulled away to get a good look at her.
"What are you doing here?"
"I uh- work."
Tom chuckled as he turned back momentarily, "See? I told you it was her, Haz!"
Kat noticed for the first time Harrison standing there, only smiling at the pair.
"So you said you were here for work," Tom said slowly, "Why didn't you call to tell me?"
"I um... didn't want to be a bother."
"You a bother? As if that could ever happen," Tom smiled before turning to her friends, "I'm going to steal her for a bit."
Before either of them could protest, Kat let Tom take her outside where he looked around briefly before bringing her in for a kiss.
She felt herself melt right then and there, all her worries out the window once she felt his familiar lips on her own.
She almost didn't want to pull away, but she knew it was inevitable.
"I'm so happy you're here," Tom whispered, continuing to hold her close.
"Me too," she whispered, biting her lip as she leaned her forehead against his.
"When can we hang out? Just us?"
"U-Um... tomorrow? Maybe after I finish my interviews?"
"Perfect," Tom smiled, kissing her once again, "Tomorrow I'll take you on a date then, show you around my city."
"That sounds perfect," Kat smiled brightly, bringing him in for yet another kiss.
By the time they returned to their friends, Alex was annoyed seeing Tom's stained lips and Kat's smudged lipstick.
She hated that Tom managed to whisk her best friend in under his trance yet again.
As much as she hated to be the bad guy, she knew she had to when Kat told them about their date tomorrow.
"Tom, are you sure you're able to go? Harrison was just telling us you and the boys were going out clubbing tomorrow night."
Harrison was confused because he said no such thing but that one sentence was enough to snap Kat out of it and remind her of the other girls.
"Um... no. I think they'll be fine without me Haz. Right?"
"Right," he said slowly, still wondering where Alex got that from.
When Kat left with her friends, Alex was quick to go straight to it.
"So you're canceling on Tom tomorrow, right?"
Kat gave her a look, "You know how bad I feel canceling on people."
"But Tom is Tom!"
Kat only narrowed her eyes at her while Carter shook his head, "I should've kicked his ass."
"Baby, as strong as you are, I'm pretty sure with all his Spider-man training, he wouldn't let you."
Carter only shook his head in disappointment as Joey now looked at Kat, "Are you sure you'll be able to handle going out with him tomorrow?"
"Yeah," Kat answered slowly, "Besides, it's best I get closure, right?"
"So you're going to end things with him?" Alex asked hopefully.
"Yeah... I mean I don't see how I can continue things with him knowing what I know."
"Then why'd you make out with him today?"
"It was a moment of weakness!" Kat quickly defended herself against Carter, "I'm sure if I'm reminded beforehand, I will not be kissing him again. Thinking of all the women he's probably kissed and the germs..."
"I'll take that challenge," Alex smirked, "I'll be sure to remind you every second tomorrow of Tom sharing saliva with probably every girl in England."
Carter grimaced, "Okay, he has game but not that much-"
"Deal," Kat cut him off, shaking Alex's hand, "Do not let me get under his trance again."
"Oh, I won't."
