The story of Kuchisake Onna is from the Japanese descents. Long ago during the Japanese Heian Period, a samurai had a beautiful wife. She would be seen walking around without her husband asking random men to rate her beauty. One day, she hooked up with someone secretly, making sure her husband didn't know...well. He didnt know until the day he found out(wow...way to go captain obvious🙄). Since her beauty was something she cared about alot, he decided that since he cared about her and she only cared about her beauty, he decided to take it away from her. So, now we know where her name comes from, but, he decided go slit the sides of her mouth so that she was permanently smiling and couldnt be called beautiful any longer. Now she has veen spotted around the streets of Japan, wearing a mask, approaching men, and asking them if she is beautiful. If the man she has chosen says "yes" she will pull off the mask and ask them again. If they say yes again, their mouth will be slit all the way up their cheeks. If they say "no" she will continually start stabbing them with scissors until she is satisfied with what she has done. She will also occasionally do this to girls to but she uses men because they are easier to lure in. Some say that you can answer with a different answer to keep her thinking so that you would have time to run away. That answer is "so-so" or "average" and while she is thinking...you'll have enough time to run to safety. So just remember. If your in Japan at all...Dont wander the streets alone...its way too dangerous...
