It was a Tuesday in mid-June. Kara and Lena were underneath a big oak tree in the park, relaxing in the shade. Kara was strumming a few chords on her guitar, and Lena sketching in her sketchbook.
"This probably has to be one of our relaxing dates yet," Kara comments before sipping her iced chai latte.
"Definitely. Play something for me?"
Kara grins before she starts playing and singing.

Lena takes her face and kisses her once she finishes singing, feeling Kara's lips smile against her own, making her smile as well. "You're so talented and I love it."
"So are you with your drawing." Kara tries to peek at her sketchbook, but Lena snatches it and brings it close to her body, covering it before she could see.
"I'm not done." Kara groans in response. "Relax, baby. Give me a few minutes and then-" Both Lena's and Kara's phone went off at the same moment, which only meant it was one of the group chats they were both in. Lena takes out her phone and eyes it.
"On second thought, I might need a little more time," she says before eyeing Kara.
"What's wrong, babe?"
Lena shows her phone, which was open to the group chat that was labeled NERDY, BADASS, DORKY FRIENDS. Kara looks down at the message.
Alex: Pack ur bags everyone. We're all going on VACATION!!
Kara looks back up at Lena with a confused look on her face, Lena with the same expression. "What's going on?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing."
"Alex hasn't told me anything. Neither has Eliza." The two look back at Lena's screen, which has populated with new texts.
Winn: We ARE on vacation
Alex: Shut up Winn
Maggie: Shut up Winn
Winn: Well, then where are we going?
Sam♡♡: Yea where we goin, Al
Maggie: Surprise, surprise, surprise
Alex: Just come over on Friday with enough clothes for five days
Maggie: Swimsuits and towels too
Sam♡♡: Bet, I'm game. So no little hint?
Alex: The swimsuits should be a hint enough
James: Ur going somewhere with water
Maggie: Ding ding ding! We have a winnerrrrr!
Winn: Wait, why'd u say ur, James? Aren't u coming?
James: Can't. My mom sent me to camp. Ur gonna have to deal with all the gay and estrogen urself :P
Winn: Hey, I'm fine with it. That means everyone is gonna be surrounded by the gay!
Alex: 4 1/2 gays
Kara💕💕: Hey!
Lena laughs and sees Kara on her phone next to her. They both look back down at the texts.
Winn: 4 gays, actually. I'm bi
Maggie: Gimme ur money, Danvers and Arias
Kara💕💕: Give me mine and my potstickers, Alex
Sam♡♡: Dammit
Alex: Damn u both
Maggie: I'd prefer if you'd fuck me😏
Winn: STFU MAGGIE
Alex: Tell my girlfriend to stfu like that ever again and I'll make sure to stick your ass up on the flagpole
Maggie: Tell me to stfu again and I'll kick ur ass into the next decade
Winn: ...yes, ma'ams
Kara and Lena laugh out loud at the series of texts. After collecting themselves, Kara goes into a separate group chat with the other three girls, that one labeled BADASS GIRL SQUAD.
Kara💕💕: Alex, why didn't u tell me abt this?
Alex: Bc I wanted it to be a surprise for u girls. Mom got us a beach house and surprisingly, she's letting us go alone, which means she's trusting 5 teenagers to leave it in good condition when we leave
Maggie: Eliza's the best
Lena: Can't wait
Sam♡♡: Same here
Kara looks up at Lena. "Up for an adventure, Miss Luthor?"
Lena grins back with a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Anything with you by my side, Miss Danvers."
On Thursday, Kara came over to Lena's place to make sure she had everything. She went into the house and heard Lena upstairs, singing softly to herself. She quietly went up the stairs and into her room. She saw her on the ground, kneeling over her suitcase. She kneels behind her and wrapped her arms behind her, feeling her jump.
"Babe! Why must you do this every time I don't notice you?" Lena laughs out as she almost melts in Kara's arms.
"Because I think it's cute when you jump like that. And when I scare you accidentally." Kara gives her neck soft, lingering kisses, making Lena hum in pleasure as she laces her fingers with hers.
"I love you."
Kara presses her body against Lena more and kisses her cheek multiple times, making the Luthor giggle and smile. "Love you too, baby."
"Did you finish your packing?"
"Right before I came over here. You almost done?"
Lena puts the rest of her toiletries in and zips it shut. "Now I am." They both get off the floor and stand face to face.
"Great. Looks like we have time to kill," Kara says with a grin.
Lena smirks in return. "Well then, I will use that to my advantage." She takes her by the collar of her shirt and kisses her rough, pushing them back on the bed.
The next day at the Danvers house, Kara and Lena were woken up by both of their phones ringing. They groaned as they rolled over to either side to get their phones. Kara's was labeled Alex and Lena's with Maggie. They looked at each other with deadpan looks, Lena with a single eyebrow raised.
"Why must they do this?" Kara groans.
"Cause they're your sister and her girlfriend, who is family. They annoy us to death, but we love 'em." Lena answers her phone and puts it on speaker, Kara doing the same. "What do you want, Mags?" she groans.
"Morning to you too, Lil' Luthor."
"Good morning, sleeping beauties," Alex says on from Kara's phone, which Lena could hear her through her own phone.
"Get your asses off each other, get dressed and come downstairs. We have a change of plans," Maggie says.
Kara sits up. "What happened?"
"Sam needs us to pick her up and the same with Winn," Alex explains. "After we do that, we can go get breakfast before we head out."
"You mentioned food. That's the one way to get Kara Danvers motivated," Lena says.
"That and you, Little Luthor."
Lena rolls her eyes and grins as Alex and Maggie snicker over the phone and Kara blush. "Shut up."
"We'll be down soon." Kara hangs up on her sister and Lena the same with Maggie. She looks over at Lena. "Come on." Kara flips the sheets off and gets her sweats, the same for Lena. She throws them over at her.
"What time is it, anyway?" Lena asks, rubbing her eyes.
"It's f-" Kara stops in confusion and mild anger. "4:50 in the morning???"
Lena groaned. "Who knows, it could take hours to wherever we're going." She gets off the bed and grabs her clothes. "Be right back." She goes off into the bathroom and before she goes in, she sees Alex and Maggie making out at the bottom of the stairs. She rolled her eyes and scoffed loud enough for them to hear, "Get a room," at them, making them jump up as they separate from each other. Lena laughs at the sight and closes the door behind her.
After putting their bags in the trunk, the three gather in the car while Alex gets her keys and extra envelope of money from Eliza.
"Thanks, Mom! Bye. Love you."
"Be safe!"
Alex gives her a salute as she walks back to the car. Once she gets in, she asks, "Everyone got everything?"
Kara looked over at Lena. "Got everything I need."
Lena smiles warmly. "Me, too." She looks up at the two. "Let's go get 'em."
Alex grins and starts the car. "Sam first."
A couple minutes later, they arrived outside of the house. Lena texted her and a minute later she came out with her bag. She puts it in the trunk with the others and sits next to Lena.
Sam groans as she gets in. She crawls into the back to sit next to Lena and puts her head on her shoulder.
Lena raises an eyebrow at her friend and looks up at Alex through the rearview mirror. "Did you give her a wake-up call, too?"
"Hey, she needed to be motivated."
"I did not need to be hollered at, at four in the fucking morning!" Sam groans, putting her face into Lena's shoulder.
Lena pats her head. "Let's just hope you didn't scare Winn to death."
Maggie chuckles. "We do that anyways."
Lena turns to Sam. "Don't fall asleep on me, darling. We still need to get our nerd and breakfast."
"We're both going to do that at some point. And speaking of which, what's our breakfast plan, Alex?" Kara asks.
"Einstein Bros, Dunkin, and Starbucks."
Everyone yes's as the bagel place was their favorite bagel place to go, as well as the famous coffee and donut place.
Another five minutes later, they got to Winn's house and saw him sitting on the steps, bag next to him. He automatically gets up at the sight of the car and runs towards it. He shoves his bag in and jumps into the midsection of the car by himself with his computer bag and other entertainment in it.
"Did you guys just leave this for me, myself and I?"
"Yes, because you snore." Maggie and Alex snicker.
"Do not!" Winn protests.
"Winn, you do," Kara says to her best friend. "Alexxxx-"
Alex rolls her eyes. "Be there in two, Kar."
Just as promised, they arrived at the joint bagel and coffee place with the donuts across the street. Maggie and Winn got the drinks, Lena and Alex left to go get the donuts, leaving Kara and Sam with the bagels.
Once back in the car, everyone handed out the food. "Iced coffee for Danvers, hot coffee with soy milk for me, ultimate caramel Frappe for Nerd Boy-"
"Hey!"
"That's what it says on the cup, Nerd Boy." Maggie hands him his drink and he inspects it, automatically rolling his eyes as he sees.
"Well, then what did yours say?"
Maggie grins. "Awesomely Badass Sawyer."
"Why did I let you do the naming?"
"Because you're too shy." Maggie hands him the tray as she names off drinks. "Black iced coffee for LL, summer sunset for Arias, and iced chai for Lil' Danvers." Winn hands it back to them.
"Thanks, guys." Kara goes into the bagel bag and hands out the individual boxes. "Nova loxes with scallion cream cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce, toasted for all of us, buttered and toasted for Maggie and Winn. All on everything bagels, minus Mags' gluten-free plain bagel."
"You're going to eat vegetables, Kara?" Sam asks in a sarcastic tone, getting a playful shove to the shoulder from behind Lena's back.
Alex starts the car again and turns on the radio, playing soft and low pop music from 97.1 WASH-FM. "Vacation, here we come."

It took them almost six hours to get to wherever they were going. Just like she said, Kara and Sam fell asleep on Lena's shoulders with Kara's arm around her waist and Sam's hand holding hers. Winn was working on something, his headphones on and over his ears, eyes not breaking from his tablet screen. At some point, Lena fell asleep too, on one of their heads, and awoke to the car stopping.
She blinked the sleep away from her eyes. "Where are we, guys?"
After paying the toll, Alex continued driving down the highway, reaching a sign.
Maggie turns around in her seat gave, raising her sunglasses to give her a smile. "Welcome to San Diego, Lil' Luthor."
Lena grinned and turned to Alex. "You got us a beach house in San Diego?"
"Technically, Mom did. All I did was ask for a vacation with my friends at the beach, and she did it."
"You're amazing."
Maggie scoffs with a smile. "Tell us something we don't know."
Even though no one could tell, Alex rolled her eyes under her sunglasses with a smile on her face. "We'll be at the house in another half hour or so. I suggest waking Kara up now. She's cranky when she's forced to wake up."
Lena grins. "I bet she won't be the slightest bit cranky when I wake her up."
Alex raises an eyebrow and turns around at Lena when they reach traffic and pull to a stop. "Is that a challenge, Luthor?"
"You bet your sweet ass it is."
Maggie smirks as she says, "And trust me, I can tell you- it's a pretty sweet ass." Alex gives her a slap on the arm with the back of her hand as she snickers and Lena shakes her head.
Alex turns back around to continue forward. "You have to get us all snowballs if Kara wakes up cranky."
"Snowballs?" Lena questions.
"Best shaved ice dessert ever." Alex grins as she explains. "Shaved ice with one or two syrup flavors and vanilla custard in the middle and on top."
Lena smiles at her imagination. "Sounds extravagant."
Alex nods. "Got that right."
"So, you buy us snowballs if Kara doesn't wake up cranky."
Alex gives her an affirmative nod as she says, "We have a deal."
"Wha about me bein' cranky?" Kara asks sleepily, putting her face deeper into the crook of Lena's neck.
"Oh, nothing, darling," Lena coos. "Have a nice nap?"
Kara inhales, smelling lavender off of Lena. "You and your lavender-self make it very nice and very easy to sleep on."
Lena chuckles. "I'm glad, sweetheart. Don't go back to sleep, though. We're almost there, and you don't want to fall back asleep."
Kara picks her head up and leans it against the side of the interior, blinking sleep away. "So I don't get cranky?"
"Exactly."
"How can I get cranky if I'm around you?"
Lena smirks and looks up at Alex. "You owe us, Danvers."
Alex sneers a bit but changes it to a smile at the sight of her sister and Lena. "Shut up, Luthor. We'll get 'em after dinner."
"Which is what, exactly?" Sam asks as she yawns, picking her head up off of Lena's shoulder.
"We can go down to the boardwalk and see what's there," Winn suggests, taking off his headphones. "I looked to see what was around, so we can go down there."
"Sounds perfect, Nerd Boy," Maggie says. "Just a little while to get to the house."
"Are you gonna keep calling me that?" Winn whines.
"Yes, because it fits perfectly."
Winn scoffs. "Whatever."
Alex turns on the radio and Something Big by Shawn Mendes comes on. Everyone grins as Alex starts everyone off while hitting her hand on the steering wheel along to the beat as Maggie turning up the volume loud.

Everyone claps and cheers at their successful group number. Once they died down, Alex pulls up in a driveway.
"We're here!"
VACATION DAY 1
Everyone piles out and looks out at the sight. It was a two-story (possibly three) beach house. It had a porch out front to face the beach and a balcony at one of the windows. The sounds of the ocean reached their ears as they all walk up to the house.
"Alex, this is amazing," Kara compliments.
Her sister shrugs. "Tell that to Mom. She got this for us."
Lena grins up. "All I know is that Kara and I call dibs on the room with the balcony."
"No fair, I wanted that one," Winn whines.
"Well, let's get in the house so we can all decide who gets what room," Maggie says, leading them to the front door. Maggie takes the envelope that was stuck in the door handle and takes out the keys. She unlocks the door and pushes her way through, letting everyone look around the open spaced house.
"This place is bitchin'," Sam says with a grin.
"What would be more bitchin' is who gets that damn balcony," Maggie says, sprinting up the stairs, Lena hot on her tail.
"Hey, Kara and I called dibs on that room first!"
"You snooze, you lose, Luthor!" Maggie yells over her shoulder. Lena reaches out and grabs her wrist, pulling her back as she goes ahead to the room. Maggie tackles her to the floor, both of them squealing and laughing when they hit the ground.
"Mags, let me go!"
"Yeah, let her go, Mags!" A voice says from behind them.
Lena recognizes her voice. "Kara, get the room!"
"Oh, right." Kara runs to the room.
Lena smiles under Maggie. "That's my girl!"
Alex comes running up. "Kara Danvers, you better not get that room!"
"Too late!" Kara yells back.
"Dammit," Maggie and Alex say under their breaths, making Lena smile.
"Maggie, I don't think either of our girlfriends wants us on each other any longer." Lena pokes her head up a bit, seeing the eyebrow raise and crossed arms from Alex.
"Yeah, what the hell did you do to Luthor, Mags?"
Maggie got off her and shrugged as she offered a hand to Lena. "I tackled her to the ground so she didn't get that damn room."
Lena accepts and lets Maggie pull her off the ground, a light grunt coming out of both of them. "You'll be an expert when it comes to chasing criminals down."
Maggie grins at her. "Same to you with your nerd stuff."
"Does anyone besides us two actually want to go to the beach?" Sam yells from the bottom of the stairs with Winn at her side.
Lena rolls her eyes. "Everyone get changed before they have a fit." She walked into her and Kara's room for the week and saw a tv sitting on a dresser across from the king sized bed with cream colored sheets, nightstands on either sides, and the whole room beinf painted a light ocean blue color.
"This is a relaxing room," Lena comments.
"Yeah, tell me about it," Kara says as she walks out from the balcony. "The view's nice, too."
"I'll look later." Lena bends down to her case and opens it up to retrieve her suit. "Be right back."
Once changed, Lena walked out of one of the bathrooms. She selected a dark green bikini with black bottoms, leaving her hair down, hair tie on her wrist for later. She walked back to her's and Kara's room for the week.
She knocked on the door. "Babe, you done?"
"It's safe to enter the monster's cave!" Kara calls back, making Lena chuckle.
Lena opens the door and throws her clothes into her suitcase. "Darling, you are no mons-" She stops when she sees the sight of Kara, her jaw going slack as she whispers, "Holy fuck."
She sees Kara in a swirled blue and green bikini top and black swim shorts that stop at her mid-thigh the bottom while her hair's falling down at the side of her face that she was red at, hand nipping at the back of her neck, the other hand fidgeting with her glasses in the single hand.
Lena closes the door as Kara speaks. "D-Does it.. look okay?" she asks sheepishly, her voice barely above a whisper as she looks down at her bare feet. "I wasn't r-really comfortable with the bottom that w-went with this, so I-I put these on instead."
Lena walks up to her and takes the glasses away from her, putting them on the nightstand. She puts a finger under her chin, pushing it up with the side of it so she could look into her eyes that were full of self-consciousness and very worrisome and gives her a soft smile full of love and compassion. "Baby, you do whatever you feel comfortable with. There's not a thing I would change, cause you're amazing just the way you are. You look amazing, Kar. Full bikini or not."
Kara gives her a small, soft smile back. "I could say the same, Lee."
Lena smirks and puts her arms around her torso, feeling her skin against hers as she brings her close. "Well, why don't you?"
Kara puts her hands on Lena's waist and grins. "You look amazing as always. Hot as hell."
She grins back. "Stop turning me on."
"Never." Kara gives her a sweet kiss but it immediately turns into a rough and heated make-out session as Lena puts her hands in her hair, one of them moaning and the other groaning.
The door opens and the two pull away at the voice. "Stop sucking each other's lips off and let's go!"
Lena turns her head to face the head poking out the door and rolls her at her. "Shut up, Sam."
"Not gonna happen," Sam says with a grin. "You guys look cute."
"Tell us something we don't know."
Sam waves her hand in a 'come on' motion. "Leggo!"
"We'll be out in a minute." Sam leaves, not even bothering to close the door back behind her. Lena rolls her eyes again. "I don't understand how I'm best friends with her."
"I HEARD THAT, LUTHOR!!" Sam yells.
"YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO!" Lena yells back, making Kara chuckle at the two. Lena diverts her attention back to Kara and gives her a peck on her lips. "You heard her. She said you looked cute."
"Don't I always?" Kara asks with a little smile, making Lena smile with a playful eye roll, too.
"Yes, babe. You have nothing to worry about," Lena reassures her with a soft tone and another smile and quick peck. "Now, you heard the woman." Lena pulls away and claps her hand into Kara's, pulling at her to follow. "Leggo."
They grab their towels and go down the stairs and into the hallway to see everyone waiting for them at the door. Sam with a one-piece white and black suit, Winn with red swim trunks, Maggie with black shorts and a white tankini top, and Alex with similar black shorts and a gray bikini top.
"Finally. They arrive," Maggie jokes.
"Haha, very funny, Mags. Like you weren't pining over Alex when you first saw your Danvers in a swimsuit," Lena retorts as they all step out on the porch.
"Oh, trust me. She was," Alex says with a smirk, making Maggie blush and scowl.
"Shut up, Danvers."
"More like Damnvers for mine," Lena says with a smirk, looking over at Kara, who also blushed furiously.
Winn looked over at Sam. "We have to deal with this for a week."
"Did you not know that was already in the deal when they all started dating? Dude, we have to live with this for life."
"Who's ready for the beach?" Maggie interrupts.
"Last two in the water buy dinner!" Sam and Winn get a head start on all of them. Kara and Lena look over and nod before Lena jumps on Kara's back. The two start running after them, laughing along the way.
Maggie jumps on Alex, getting an 'Oof' from her. "Mags!"
She shrugs as Alex holds her. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. But I'd like to beat them. Go!"
Alex follows her orders and gains speed, getting behind Lena and Kara. Lena looks over her shoulder and sees the dynamic duo.
"They're gaining!"
Kara speeds up a bit, making her way to the water. To her left, she sees her sister smirking.
"On your left," Maggie says from on top of her.
"On your left my ass!" Lena yells back. She looks ahead and sees Sam and Winn already at the water, it's waves only a few yards away.
Kara knows she shouldn't use her powers, so she didn't. She and Alex kept at a steady pace, but when they were only two yards away, Kara sped ahead, making Sanvers the losers.
"Hah!" Kara turns around to look at them. "You're buying dinner."
"That was probably going to happen, anyways," Alex mutters as she and Maggie tread deeper into the water to follow Kara and Lena.
Kara felt a little something brush up against her leg, and then got knocked of her feet, getting an "Oh, shit!" from both her and Lena before they fall into the ocean. Once they come back up and wipe the water from their faces, they see everyone laughing hard, especially Sam.
"Got you good, Kar," Sam laughs out. "Bonus for the Luthor on top."
Lena splashes water in her face. "You truly are the best friend," she says with sarcasm.
"I really am."
Everyone spent the next hour or so in the water, splashing, swimming, and floating around. After almost two hours, Alex, Maggie, Winn, and Sam retreated back to shore to tan.
"You two coming?" Sam asks over her shoulder.
Kara feels Lena up against her back as she wraps her hands around her bare torso and smiles. "Later, Sam."
She gives her a thumbs up in response as she walks back to the others.
Meanwhile, Kara felt hands going up her torso and lips kissing her collarbone, making her shudder in the deep water. She turned around and saw Lena with an innocent look on her face. "What?" she asked in an innocent voice as well.
Kara shook her head as she chuckled. "You're very troublesome, oh Luthor of mine."
Lena wrapped her legs around Kara's waist and put her arms around her neck. "Say that last part again."
Kara put her hands around her back. "You're my Luthor."
Lena gave her a sweet kiss that was wet and salty from the water. "And your my Danvers."
"That you love," Kara says grinning, putting her forehead on Lena's.
"That I love so much." Lena gives her multiple sweet and long kisses to express her love for her.
"Lee."
"Mm," Lena hummed in her mouth as she kissed her again.
Kara pulled away and rested her forehead on Lena's, giving her a sheepish smile as she said, "I'm kinda hungry."
Lena smirked and raised an eyebrow at her. "What for?"
Kara flushed into a shade of red. Lena, being amused at the sight, began to snicker. Kara tilted her head. "What?"
"I just love making you blush furiously."
"You're amused."
"Very."
"AY, YO LOVEBIRDS!!" Sam and Maggie yelled together, making Kara's head turn.
"IT'S ALMOST DINNERTIME!" Sam yells.
"SO GET YOUR LIPS OFF EACH OTHER SO WE CAN GO SHOWER AND THEN OUT TO EAT!" Maggie yells, making everyone laugh.
Kara turns back to her. "You heard the short lady. Come on."
"She's not that short," Lena says, getting off of her and following her to shore.
"Shorter than everyone else in this group of friends. So yes, she's short."
"Are you calling me short, Lil' Danvers?"
"Are you calling my girlfriend short, Kara?" Alex asks, crossing her arms.
"That's exactly what I'm doing."
Lena backs up and over to Sam. "Sorry, Mags. I tried to defend your honor."
Maggie shrugs. "It's fine," she says before she and Alex tackle her to the ground, tickling her, making Kara erupt with laughter.
"Guys! St-stop!"
"Only if you admit it, LD."
"Never!"
"Fine, then we'll keep tickling you," Alex says.
After another moment of torturing and laughing, Kara gives in. "Fine! Fine! Ma-Mags isn't short."
Maggie smirked and she and Alex stopped. "That's right, Lil' Danvers." She gets off of her and Alex follows suit while Kara pouts from the ground, looking at the rest of her friends.
"Why didn't you help me?"
Everyone else shrugged. "We like to see you suffer sometimes," Sam says with a grin.
"Obviously," Kara mutters, getting off the sand. "Come on. I need food soon."
"Of course you do, baby," Lena says, brushing the sand off of her before taking her hand and walking back to the house.
After everyone showered and got the beach off of them, they all piled downstairs.
Kara dresses in a white, flowing top with little holes at the bottom for decoration and short white shorts at the bottom while Lena in a similar outfit, but in blue and black.
"What's our plan, Al?" Kara asks as she and Lena come downstairs.
She shrugs and looks at everyone. "Walk around till we agree on a place to eat?"
Everyone nods. "Sounds good," Sam says.
Lena takes Kara's hand and intertwines her arm through Sam's as they all walk down the boardwalk with Alex having an arm over Maggie's shoulder and Winn on their other side.
After a few minutes of walking, Alex looks up at a sign. "How 'bout a dive-in?"
Everyone murmurs and nods in agreement. The gang walked in and got a booth, observing their menus, ready to eat.
After a filling dinner, they all followed Alex down into town to find the snowball stand.
"Where the hell is this thing, Al?" Maggie asks as they turn a corner.
Alex grins. "Right here." In front of them is a little hut with a sign marked SNOWBALLS.
"Did Mom take you here before? Cause it seems like you know your way 'round," Kara comments as they walk up the steps to observe the menu of flavors.
Alex nods. "Before we adopted you. I was about twelve, maybe thirteen. We spent a few days here at almost the exact beach house. It was great." Alex steps up to order and everyone shortly follows afterward.
"What'd you get, babe?" Maggie asks once everyone gets their snowballs and start walking slowly back to the beach house.
"Grape. You?"
"Piña colada." She turns to Kara. "Lil' Danvers?"
"Cherry! Lee?"
"Blue raspberry. Here." Lena spoons some into Kara's mouth while saying, "Sam?"
"Mango. Winn?"
"Blueberry and strawberry. Dude, this is really good," Winn says through a mouthful of his shaved ice.
"Mmhm," Sam says nodding her head. "Thanks, Al."
Lena smirks her way. "Yeah, thanks, Al."
Alex rolls her eyes with a small smile. "Of course, guys. This is gonna be a great week."

Lena sat outside on the balcony, the sunset giving her just what she needed for her sketch. Her teeth biting down on her tongue as she focused with her glasses and messy bun on the top of her head. Kara laid on the bed inside, reading a book while each of them did their own thing.
After another half hour when the sun was almost set, Lena shut her book close and walked back inside. "You wanna go for a walk on the beach?"
Kara looked up with a grin. "Sure." She marked where she was in her book and put it down. She took off her glasses and left them there as she held her hand out to Lena. "Come on."
The two left their shoes as they didn't need them. They let their feet plunge into the warm sand as they walked across the shore, water trickling at their feet when the water came rolling up to shore.
Lena wrapped herself on Kara's left arm as they walked, both of them in a comfortable silence with only the flowing ocean, breeze in their faces and hair, and the calls of gulls making noise. The moment was peaceful and a beautiful sight for the both of them; most of all, relaxing. They both stopped and sat down on the sand. Lena intertwined her fingers with Kara's and still held onto her arm, as though it was her lifeline. She rested her head on her shoulder as they watch the sun disappear beyond the sea.
"I love you," Lena whispered.
Kara turned her head and pressed a firm kiss to her forehead. "I love you too, babe."
The two sat out there in the sand for another fifteen minutes or so. Alex sent Sam to go find the two, since they've been gone for a while, didn't bring their phones with them, and didn't tell anyone where they were or where they were going. She came walking down the shore and was just about to call their names before she saw them sitting next to each other in peace. She smiled as she quietly walked over to them and sat next to Lena, resting her head on her shoulder, holding her hand, letting her know she was there. The three stayed out there for almost another hour like that, just gazing upon the sea and hearing the waves crash.

Later in the night back at the house, Kara fell asleep on Lena's arm while Lena was still awake, lightly running her fingers through her golden hair. She carefully got up, making sure not to wake her, grabbed her sketchbook and headed back out to the balcony, bringing out a light with her. She turned it on and added some final touches on her sketch before she could finalize it. She kept at it for another half hour to forty-five minutes before she heard a little moan. She immediately shot her head up and walked back inside.
"Kar?"
She saw Kara twisting and turning in the bed, mumbling things that Lena couldn't make words out of.
She got on the bed and lightly shook her. "Kar? Kara, baby, wake up."
Kara shot up, gasping for breath in a cold sweat, tears almost spilling out. She curled up into Lena, burying her face into her shirt as she cries in it.
"Ssh, ssh ssh. It's okay, Kar. I'm here. I've got you. I love you. Always," Lena coos as she strokes her hair, lightly scratching her scalp, trying to get her to calm down. She thinks of the song she was phrasing earlier softly starts to sing it to her.

Lena brings her head to her chest so that she could listen to her calm heartbeat. She kisses the top of her head and strokes her hair as she continues.

Sure enough, Kara fell asleep in her arms. Lena softly smiled and kissed her forehead before saying in her native language, "Tha mi duilich airson rud sam bith a bhios a 'tachairt san àm ri teachd. Nì mi rud sam bith as urrainn dhomh airson dìon agus mo ghràdh. An-còmhnaidh. Deagh oidhche, mo ghaol." Lena laid her down and spooned her and soon fell asleep right next to her.

VACATION DAY 2
"Alex, what's our game plan today?" Sam asks as she, Lena and Kara come downstairs to the living room with the others.
Alex grins. "I am so glad you asked. Drumroll if you please."
Everyone but Alex slaps on their thighs, creating a makeshift drumroll, and keep going until Alex raises her thumb, as well as index and middle fingers, waving them in a circle to stop.
"Stop with the Jedi mind tricks," Winn whines.
"Shut it, whiney," Maggie scolds. "Danvers, where we goin'?"
"Laser tag."
"Yes!" Everyone says, Sam pumping her fist.
"I'm ready to kick all your asses," Maggie says with a grin.
"Don't get cocky, Mags," Lena warns with a finger. "That's not a good look on you."
"The girl looks great in everything," Alex compliments and kisses Maggie's smiling cheek. "Before we kick your asses, we need food. Let's go."
After getting a quick breakfast from Starbucks, Alex drives them all to the laser tag stadium.
"Alright, I got us six rounds," Alex says once they step in the building. "The first and last rounds are every man for himself."
After checking in and getting their vests on, everyone gets their guns. Before going to different entryways, Alex pulls Kara over and whispers in her ear, "No powers."
"It wouldn't be fair that way, now would it?" Kara asks her in a quiet tone, sending her a little smile and wink her way.
Alex scowled and went to her own entrance. "You all are going down."
"In your dreams, Danvers!" Maggie and Sam yell at the same time.
The buzzer buzzes and the doors open. Everyone runs in their own door, getting surrounded by ultraviolet, fog, and shadows.
Kara runs up a ramp, taking hold of a wall and jumping over it, landing softly. She ran around a corner and pressed against the wall, holding her gun up, finger ready on the trigger. She looked around the corner and saw a white and blue checkered shirt running by. She smiled as she ran after it, finding Winn looking at a wall.
"Fancy meeting you here, Winn." He jumped at the voice and tried to turn around and shoot, but Kara was faster and shot him on one of his side orbs, making his lights go out on his gun.
"Come on, Kar," he whines as he slumps his way towards the exit.
"Ya snooze, ya lose, Winn," Kara said to him as she ran off up a ramp. She saw someone crouching down at a tower, eyes focused. They ran off before Kara could get up there, brown hair blowing as she ran.
"Maggie," Kara whispered. She followed her carefully, but saw her in the distance and pressed herself against a wall. She was about to shoot her herself, but Maggie got shot by someone else, her lights going out.
Maggie looked up. "Come on, Luthor!"
"Step your game up, Sawyer!" Lena called back as she ran off, Maggie going to the exit and seeing Winn and Alex there already.
"Who got you two?"
"Kara," Winn says.
Alex smirked a bit at him. "That's my sister- getting the wimp first. Sam for me." They all looked up at the footage from inside the arena, seeing Sam run by one of the cameras, and Kara by another.
Kara pressed up against another wall after running underneath a ramp. She saw Sam running by. She was about to sneak up on her but Sam got taken out before she could take her chance.
"Lena!"
"Bye-bye, Arias." Lena smirked as she disappeared back behind the tower. "Come on out, babe! Let's call a truce."
Kara comes out of her hiding place, gun in hand, looking around. "Why would we do that?"
"So that I can kiss my loving girlfriend with no one around," Lena says, following her voice.
Kara stays silent for a moment, considering her options. "Truce. You know they can see us, right?"
Lena grabbed the back of her shirt and pulled her back into a tower, away from all the other cameras. She turns her and grabs the front of her shirt so that she was face to face with her, feeling her warm breath on her skin.
"Well, not anymore they can't. Truce?" Lena asks as she nears her lips.
Kara went in for it but shot her in the chest, Lena's lights diminishing. She pulls back, saying, "Anything but a truce."
Lena's face went dumbfounded as she let go of her shirt. "Babe!"
Kara cackled. "Wow, you actually fell for that. And I thought Luthors were supposed to keep their guards up."
Lena walked to the exit, Kara on her tail. "When it comes to you, my guard's a bit down," she grumbled.
Kara only smirked as they came out of the arena, everyone waiting."I'm guessing by Little Danvers' smirk, she won," Maggie speculated.
Kara grins. "Got that right."
"Come on. I've got another five rounds to win," Lena says, ushering them all to the entrances again.
"Someone's competitive," Sam comments before the buzzer buzzes again.
VACATION DAY 3
After breakfast, Alex leads them all back towards the beach house, but in a different direction.
"Where you takin' us, Danvers?" Maggie asks.
Alex only grins. "You'll see."
After another few twists and turns, Alex leads them to a-
"Carnival!" Kara and Winn say together.
Everyone else chuckles and shakes their heads at them. "Come on," Alex says, pulling Maggie. "It'll be fun."
"Clowns and shit? Hard pass," Maggie says.
"There are no clowns in carnivals," Sam says.
"Those are circuses," Lena adds.
"Exactly," Alex says as hands Lena some money. "You're the most responsible out of everyone else here-"
"Hey!" Kara, Winn, and Sam say together.
Alex rolls her eyes at them. "That's for games and tickets and all. We're gonna be here for a while, so enjoy yourself, Luthor," Alex says as she playfully punches her shoulder. She wraps her arm around her shorter girlfriend's shoulders and walks away. "We'll meet up back here at eight. Knock yourselves out!" she calls over her shoulder, Maggie throwing a peace sign over her head.
Lena looks over at the other three. "What do you guys want to do first?" she asks with a grin.

Later in the day, Lena and Kara split up from Sam and Winn and were walking around the carnival. Kara looked up and saw a ferris wheel.
She looked back at Lena with a grin. "Ferris wheel?"
"Babe, you know I'm terrified of heights," Lena whined.
"You can hold onto my arm. It's not that high, baby."
Lena groans. "Fine."
Kara smiles and kisses her cheek before pulling her over. "Atta girl. Come on."
Kara let her step up to the carriage and stepped up to the man controlling it. "Stop at the top," she told him and handed him fifteen dollars. He grinned and nodded, letting Kara go sit next to Lena.
Kara pulled Lena over by her waist and held her tight as they start ascending. "I'm not gonna let you go."
Lena wraps her arms around Kara as she closes her eyes and buries her face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent, slightly worrying her less. She feels them stopping, but doesn't look up. "Open your eyes," Kara whispers to her.
Lena pops one eye open and immediately opens the other at the sight. Her mouth goes slightly agape as she sees the sunset over the ocean and the lights from the carnival and city below them. "Holy crap."
"Not so scared anymore, are you?" Kara asks with a smirk.
"Shut up." Lena kisses her lips, feeling her smile.
Kara takes her phone out. "Hey, come here."
"I can't possibly come closer to you, Kara. I'm attached to you like a leech."
Kara chuckles and opens the camera. The sunlight falling perfectly on their faces. Kara rested her forehead on her temple, making Lena close her eyes and smile. Just as she thought she couldn't smile any harder, Kara kissed her cheek, making her eyes squeeze tight shut and smile even more for the second picture. For the third one, Lena turned her head and kissed her lips sweetly, causing Kara to smile slightly in the kiss as she snapped a picture.
Kara put her phone away and wrapped her arms back around Lena, both of them looking out onto the ocean.
"Love you, Lee."
"I love you, too."
VACATION DAY 4
Everyone spent the morning and afternoon at the beach. Alex, Maggie, and Winn went to go get lunch at the boardwalk, leaving the trio at the beach.
"I believe Alex said something about an arcade being somewhere on the boardwalk," Sam says, grinning.
Kara looks over at Lena who shrugs in response. "Never been to an arcade before. Something fun to try."
"Last time I was at one, we stayed out till one in the morning," Sam says, chuckling softly at the memory. "Those things are captivating."
"What's captivating?" The three look over to see Alex, Maggie, and Winn carrying a bunch of trays and bags supposedly full of food.
"Alex, how much food did you get?" Kara asks, eyes lighting up.
Alex shrugged. "Enough to keep us all fed for a while." Winn handed out drinks of lemonade while Alex plopped down next to her sister, her and Maggie unbagging the food.
Sam takes the box from Maggie and opens it. "Sweet. Pizza." She takes a slice and bites into it, handing the box off to Kara. "To answer your question, Al, we were talking about the arcade. You said there was one around here, right?"
Alex nodded. "Along the boardwalk. We can go there if everyone's up for it."
Everyone nodded. "I'm down to beat some Galaga ass," Winn says with a grin.
"Oh, in your dreams, Schott," Maggie says. "Bet you soft serve that I'll win."
"You're on."
After spending the rest of the afternoon on the beach and showering, the group walked back down on the boardwalk for a bit until they reach the arcade section. Lights and noises coming from the whole area. It certainly was captivating.
"Come on, Schott," Maggie ushers. "Get some quarters and let's go."
"I'm coming, I'm coming," he says, following Maggie inside.
"Hey, wait for me!" Alex calls after them. "I wanna see this."
Alex follows them, leaving the trio outside. Sam looks over at Karlena.
"Want me to teach you how to play skeeball?" Sam asks with a grin. "I so happen to be a master."
"And me with Pac-Man," Kara adds.
Lena chuckles. "Lead the way, Obi-Wans."
"Come on, Maggie. You owe me soft serve."
"I am not giving this up. This is impossible! How did you manage to get the new high score in just a little amount of time???"
"Elementary, my dear Mags," Winn says in his best Sherlock impression.
Alex walks up to them with some candy and a box of BlueTooth earbuds in her hands that she won. "Did Winn beat you?"
"Somehow," Maggie grumbled, making Alex chuckle.
Alex pulls her with her free hand away from Winn. "Come on. You can try and beat me in Connect Four."
"If I win, you give me those earbuds."
"You give me fifteen bucks in return."
"You're on, Danvers."
"Pac-Man is the best!" Lena gushes. "I still don't understand how you're so good at it."
Kara shrugs. "At least you were finally able to beat Sam in skeeball," she says as she nods over to Sam, who's still playing.
"Beginner's luck!" Sam yelled back, making them chuckle.
"Crossy Road next after this round."
"You're such a child," Lena says with a smile.
"But you love me."
"Somehow," Lena jokes before kissing her cheek.
Sam looks up at the giant clock once everyone's met up outside on the boardwalk. "Holy shit, it's two am!"
"And Maggie still owes me soft serve," Winn says.
"There's a place that's open down here. Let's go." Alex leads the way and everyone but Maggie falls behind her, as she was holding her hand.
Lena shivered in the cool air. Kara took notice and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, bringing her close. Lena smiled as she put an arm around her waist. "How are you almost like an oven when it's fifty degrees out by the ocean?"
Kara chuckled. "One of my hidden talents, I guess."
Lena pulled Sam over with her free hand. "Thanks for teaching me how to beat you in skeeball," she says with a smirk.
Sam rolled her eyes but squeezed her hand. "It was nothing. I'm glad you had fun, though."
"Well, I always have fun with you two." Lena kissed Kara's cheek and put her other arm around Sam. "After all, one of you is my girlfriend and the other my best friend."
They all stopped as Alex stopped in front of a stand with soft serve. Maggie -unwillingly- paid for Winn's and everyone elses.
After getting what they desired, they all walked back in silence as they ate their soft dessert that came down from the heavens. Once getting back to the beach house and everyone with their cones demolished, Winn slugged off to bed, Maggie and Alex into their room to do whatever them crazy teens were going to do, and Sam, Lena, and Kara in Lena and Kara's room for the time being.
"Wanna watch a late-night movie?" Sam suggested as she flops down on the bed.
Kara grins as she looks over at Lena with the same expression. "Mini girls night?"
"Sounds great to me."
The two joined Sam and picked out Big Hero 6. A light, classic film. Not even two thirds into the movie, they all fell asleep next to each other, letting the movie play in their sleep.
LAST DAY
For their last day, all the gang did was order pizza, tacos, takeout, and burritos for their meals and had a big movie marathon for the whole day. It was a nice, fun, relaxing day for them all.
Kara shot up in bed, gasping for air. She looked beside her and saw Lena sleeping peacefully.
At least she doesn't have to keep seeing her planet dying, Kara thought as she sighed and shook her head. She quietly got out of bed and out to the balcony with the cool night breeze. She leaned against the railing on her arms, feeling the coolness of the metal. The wind slightly blew her hair as she looked out at the moon's reflection across the water. She stayed like that for another five minutes or so before she felt a blanket wrapping around her shoulders.
"Another bad dream?"
Kara could only muster a nod and a little whimper. She felt arms wrapping around the back of her waist and a head resting on her shoulder as she sighed. "I'm sorry about the other night," she mumbled.
"What for, darling?"
"I just... I don't like being vulnerable around people. Especially around you. You've been through hell as far as I know, and you deserve the best."
Kara felt a kiss being placed on an open spot on her shoulder and the corners of her lips tugged into the smallest of smiles.
"Babe, everyone gets bad dreams. And vulnerable. I get like that when it's about my brother or you. Especially you, because I love you so much. I don't want to see you hurt, but it's going to happen to the best of us. We get hurt, we feel vulnerable, we feel loved, and sometimes we feel alone. That's what life is. But right now, at this moment, you are not alone. You never will be. You have your sister who loves you unconditionally no matter what. Then there's Winn, James, Sam, Mags, and me. All of us, are right here," Lena says as she puts her hand over Kara's heart.
Kara looks down at her hand and puts her hand on hers, intertwining their fingers. She turns around to face her with small smiles on their faces in the moonlight.
"I love you, Kara. Yes, we may feel this way sometimes, but that's just what life is. We'll get through it. We all will at some point. And that'll only make us stronger."
El mayarah, Kara thought as she smiled at Lena. "Okay. Thank you."
"Of course, darling." Lena gives her a soft kiss on her lips. "Do you want to go back to bed? We have to leave in about five or six hours. It's best if we get our rest."
"Even though I'm going to sleep in the car," Kara says with a chuckle as she leans back against the railing.
Lena wraps her arms around her again to be as close as she can to her. "You need your rest, darling."
"Do I now?" Kara asks as she places her forehead on Lena's, nose to nose with her and smiles on their faces.
Lena pulls back a little to study her face in the moonlight, getting a head tilt in confusion from Kara.
"What?"
"Just- the moonlight hits your face perfectly and brings out your eyes."
Kara takes Lena in her arms. "Charmer."
"That I am," Lena says before smiling into her kiss. "Bed? I'm sure Sanvers are gonna give us a wake-up call again."
Kara sighs with a smile. "Bed." She let Lena pull her in by her hand back inside and into the bed. She curled up in bed and Lena crawls next to her to spoon her and lightly rub her forehead.
"I love you, Lee," Kara mutters.
"I love you, too," she hears Lena say before she lets sleep pull her away.
GOING BACK HOME
Phones ringing in the morning woke the two up and they automatically groaned at knowing who it was. Kara picked up hers and saw hers marked with Maggie and looked over to see Lena's with Alex.
They answer their phones and Kara groans into hers, "Why?"
"Motivation, my dear Lil Danvers!"
"Motivation my ass!" Lena says into her phone.
"Good morning to you, too," Alex says from Lena's phone.
"It's not a good morning when you get a fucking wake up call at four-thirty in the morning," Lena growls in her phone.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed," Maggie says.
"You think?" Kara says before she sighs. "Before you call anyone else, I'll wake up Winn and Lee will wake up Sam."
"Too late!!" Sam yells from outside the door before opening it and poking her head in. "I swear, they're gonna kill us one day."
"Hey, we wouldn't do anything that cruel, now would we babe?" Maggie asks Alex.
"Probably not. Maybe just take potstickers away from Kara, Winn his tablet, take away Kara from Lena, and Sam her drums or phone."
"We'll be down in ten." Lena hangs up on Alex and Kara the same with Maggie.
"Who knew you two were capable of keeping your clothes on during the night?" Sam snickers as she ducked a pillow from Lena.
"Who knew you were capable of being the best yet annoying friend on earth?" Lena retorted.
"I know, I'm amazing. Get up. We've got a long ride ahead of us." Sam walks back out, again, not bothering to close the door.
"Close some damn doors from time to time!" Lena shouts after her, getting a pillow in the face back in return.
"In your dreams, Luthor!!"
Kara laughs at the two friend's banter and gets out of bed to retrieve some hoodies for both her and Lena. "Is it really time to go already?" she asks.
Lena sighs. "Yeah. I guess so." She kneels down behind her and wraps her arms around her torso, letting Kara lean back into her. She knew what Kara was talking about, but neither of them decided to bring it up.
"How did I get so lucky with you?" Kara asks out of the blue.
Lena hums in thought. "I think it had something to do with Adam Foster and him calling me names."
Kara chuckled. "Yeah, I guess so."
Lena pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I love you, Kar."
"I love you too, Lee."
Once everything was back in the trunk of the car, everyone walked a bit into the city for breakfast. "Alex, where are we going?" Winn whined.
She stopped in front of a cafe marked with a sign 'Firehook.' "Best cafe by far. They have one at home, so we can go there to study or relax there sometime." Alex opens the door and ushers them inside.
Alex got herself a black coffee and a morning glory muffin, Maggie a soy latte and a gluten-free bagel, Winn a Frappe and chocolate croissant, Lena a spinach and feta stuffed croissant and iced black coffee, Sam a breakfast sandwich on sourdough and fresh squeezed orange juice, and Kara a breakfast sandwich as well but on an everything bagel and tea. For later, they all got some baked sweet goods on the way home.
After eating their food in the small cafe, they all went back to the car at the house.
"Everyone got every one of their belongings, right?" Alex asks. "Cause there's no way I'm driving a painful six to eight hours in the car."
Everyone nods, but Alex looks over at Kara. Kara nods and goes back in the house, speeding throughout the house to make sure no one left anything behind.
"Hey, Winn!" she called out after a minute, poking her head out the door. She stuck out a teddy bear with a grin. "This yours?"
Winn started blushing profoundly as everyone laughed. "For your information, that has a hard drive in it that contains very important information and possibly lead me to money and fame," he says, snatching the bear from Kara.
"Sure, Winn. And we're all aliens from another planet," Kara jokes.
Alex shuts the door behind them and places the key back in the envelope. "Let's start the gruesome car ride back."
