The next day at school, everyone seemed miserable. Chloe was in tears, her mascara running, Sabrina was letting her cry on her shoulder, Nino was comforting Alya and everyone just seemed down. Nothing felt right without Adrien. during class, even Ms Bustier seemed to be affected by his disappearance. No one could concentrate, so Ms Bustier just told everyone to do something quietly. Mariners decided to draw a picture. As she was drawing, her hand went to the necklace she was wearing. As class had finsihed, she had made two pictures. One of Adrien, one of Cat Noir. After school, marionette for home and hung the pictures up. Cat noir watched her do it. When Marinette saw Cat Looking at her, she smiled.
"Hey cat! Are you hungry?"She asked.
She went downstairs and got him a ham and cheese croissant. When she gave it to Cat, he took it and put it in his food bowl, not hungry just yet. He then walked back up to Marinette, and meowed.
"Hmm? Not hungry? What do you need then Cat?" She asked.
Cat meowed again and jumped up on her desk. He then took down the Cat Noir drawing and pointed at it with his paw.
"Huh? Do you know what happened to Cat Noir?" She asked.
He nodded his head and meowed again.
Marinette looked at him before sighing.
"It's no use Cat! I can't understand you!" Marinette said.
Cat meowed again, but at this point he knew he wasn't getting anywhere.
Adrien was frustrated. If only he could get marinette to understand. He took down the cat noir drawing and pointed at it. She looked at him and asked if he knew where he was.
"It's me! I'm Cat noir! Something happened to my miraculous and now I'm a cat!" Adrien said.
"Kid, the only one who can here you is me," Plagg said, slightly annoyed.
"How am I supposed to communicate with Marinette if I can only meow?" Adrien asked.
He needed her help to try and locate his miraculous. It held the key to getting him back to normal.
Cat looked up and and saw Marinette looking at her Adrien and Cat Noir drawings. He jumped up and sat next to her.
Marinette felt lonely. Her trusted partner had disappeared, leaving her to defend Paris alone, and Adrien had disappeared, the boy who had stolen her heart. It was awful. Ladybug wasn't anything without Cat Noir, and Life wasn't the same without Adrien. Her life had been turned upside down.
"Cat? Promise me you won't leave? That you won't disappear like Adrien or Cat Noir?" Marinette asked.
Adrien meowed.
"I promise. I won't leave you Mari," Adrien said. He noticed she seems deeply affected by both his disappearances. As both Cat Noir and Adrien.
Marinette smiles and kissed his forehead.
At this moment, he was thankful he was a cat, it else he would be as red as a tomato.
"I can't believe Adrien would get kidnaped the same day Cat noir disappeared. How awful," Marinette said.
Indeed. Adrien was thankful nobody had put two and two together that he was Cat Noir.
"You would think one person in Paris would at least think the two could be connected," Plagg said
Adrien chose to ignore Plagg and continue to comfort Marinette. As it got later, marinette went on her balcony. Adrien decided to give her some space and didn't go after her. After an hour and a half, Marinette came back down. She sure was up there a while. Marinette changes into PJ's and then got into bed.
"Goodnight Cat," marinette said.
Cat meowed back.
"Goodnight Marinette," Adrien said.
While everyone was asleep, Tikki was deep in thought. Where was Plagg, where on earth could he be. Even if Cat Noir had removed or abandoned the ring, Plagg would still be connected to it, and if he lost it, Plagg would have ensured that he would have found the Miraculous, so what was going on? She decided she would consult with Marinette in the morning, then got comfortable and fell asleep.
The next day, school went by in a bit and before she knew it, She was back at home. Nothing seemed the same anymore. Her life as Marinette wasn't the same without Adrien, and Her life as Ladybug wasn't the same without Cat Noir. Marinette looked at the small cat that was currently sleeping. She smiled.
He was the silver lining in this dark period. She wouldn't have met him had it not been for all this craziness, but she was still determined to find Adrien and Cat Noir.
"Marinette," Tikki said.
"Hm? Oh what is it Tikki?" Marinette asked.
"I've been wondering. You see you are currently holding the cat Miraculous, but if that's the case, where is Plagg, the Cat kwami?" She asked.
"What do you mean Tikki?" Marinette asked
"If Cat Noir abandoned the ring, you would've found Plagg along with the ring, if Cat Noir lost it, Plagg would've ensured that cat noir would've found it by now, so where is he?" Tikki asked.
"That's a good question, and could be the answer to this whole case!" Marinette said.
Tikki was quiet.
"Marinette, I think it's time you met someone," Tikki said.
"Who?" Marinette asked.
"The last guardian of the miraculous"

The next day, Marinette walked toward a shop. When she entered, she was greeted by an old man.
"I know you, you're the vet that healed Tikki when she was sick," Marinette said.
"Marinette, meet master fu, the last guardian of the miraculous," she said.
"It's an honour to meet you master fu," marinette said,
"It's nice to see you to Marinette, but I sense you came here to seek guidance for a problem," Master Fu.
"Yes," Marinette said.
She took off her necklace and handed it to Master Fu,
"I found his Miraculous in an alleyway. Tikki pointed out that Plagg wasn't anywhere near the miraculous. If it was abandoned, Plagg would be near it, if it was lost he would've located it by now," marinette said
Master fu examined it closely.
"Your Kwami made an excellent point. I believe it has to do with the fact that the miraculous is broken." He said
"Broken?" Marinette asked
Master fu pointed out the the crack at the top.
"When this crack happened, I believe Plagg was in the ring. If he was, when the miraculous broke, then Plagg and Cat Noir would've been bonded into one being," master fu explained
"One...being?" Marinette asked
"Yes, most likely with Plagg's ability he would've been transformed into a feline, most likely a black cat," master fu said.
"A cat?" Marinette asked.
"Yes, you must find Cat noir and give him his ring. With it, he could temporarily turn back human," master fu explained.
"Temporarily?" Marinette asked.
"Yes, with the miraculous's energy seeping our through the crack, it will only be able temporarily retain his human form. At most I would say he has an hour at a time before he transforms back. I'm afraid if we can't fix the ring, he will be transformed into a cat forever."
Marinette took the ring and put back on.
"Okay, thank you master fu," marinette said.
When marinette got home, she mumbled to herself.
"Okay, I'm looking for a black cat who acts human, but is really Cat Noir," she mumbled.
" this is going to be impossi-" marinette stopped herself when she saw Cat staring at her.
No, it couldn't be. He couldn't be.
"Cat?" She asked.
Cat meowed.
"Cat, are you.... are you really Cat Noir?" Marinette asked.
Cat looked at her and nodded her head.
Marinette's mind was officially blown. She had been taking care of cat noir? That's what he had been trying to tell her all this time? She spent days searching and he was right in front of her?!
Marinette couldn't believe this. The cat she rescued earlier was Cat noir? She shook her head. It didn't matter.
She gently took the necklace off and took the ring off the chain.
"I believe this is yours?" She asked.
Cat meowed.
Marinette gently secured the ring to his paw. He meowed again and then was surrounded by a glowing light. When the light faded away, Marinette was face to face with cat noir.
"Thank you Marinette, you saved me," Cat Noir said with a bow.
"Cat Noir, you need to listen to me, this is only temporary, after an hour, you'll change back into a cat," marinette told him.
"Why? I have my ring back," he said
Marinette pointed to the crack on the ring.
"The energy from the miraculous is seeeping away through the cracks. If we can't fix it, you'll be transformed into a cat forever!" Marinette explained.
Cat Noir was silent.
"I understand, I'll come back, but first, I owe it to someone to let them know I'm alright," Cat Noir said and then jumped out the window.
Marinette paused, confused as Tikki piped out.
"Someone he owes to let them know he's alright? She whispered.
"Marinette! I think he was talking about ladybug!" Tikki said
Realization dawned on her and she quickly transformed
"Tikki spots on!"
Ladybug transformed and made her way to the Eiffel Tower. She made it there just moments before she heard a small thump behind her.
"Hello m'lady," Cat Noir said.
Ladybug smiled and ran over to hug him. Cat noir happily accepted the embrace and swung her around.
"Cat! Where have you been?! I've been worried sick!" Ladybug said
"It's a long story, but I can't stay long," Cat Noir said.
"Kitty, what do you mean? You just came back," Ladybug said
His ring flashed and one of the pads disappeared.
"Let's just say that something different than what normally happens when my ring runs out of pads," he said
"Cat I don't understa-" Cat noir pressed a finger against her lips, silencing her.
"It's alright, I know you can protect the city without me," he said. He kissed her forehead and then left without another word.
Ladybug quickly got home and detransformed before Cat Noir got back. Just a few minutes after she detransformed Cat Noir popped through the window.
"I'm back," he said
"So Cat Noir, are you still going to be staying with me?" Marinette asked.
Cat noir sighed.
"I don't really have a choice, I can't go home in my current state." He said
"So, I'm, is everything okay? Are you comfortable in the things I got you?" Marinette asked.
Cat Noir smiler.
"Everything is just Purr-fect purr-incess" he said.
Another pad flashed. He only had a few more minutes before he transformed back into a cat.
"Don't worry Mari, your hospitality is more than enough, you don't need to do anything more, we'll figure this out, I promise," he said, then a green flashed circled around him and he was transformed back into a cat.
He meowed at Marinette and then went to his bed and fell asleep.
Marinette stares at the cat A blush creeping up on her face. Cat Noir was sharing her bedroom with her! And she didn't even know it. At this point, Marinette was incredibly thankful that Tikki was nervous around Cats, it else she would've revealed her secret identity! Marinette sighed and laid down on her bed. She solved the mystery of Cst Noir's disappearance, but it left her with a lot of unanswered questions. How will she fix the ring? Will cat Noir turn into a cat forever? Will cat noir discover her identity? But there was one question that was still still haunting her.
Where was Adrien?
