"Do I really have to?" I grunted as Cara pulled my hand out of the car and to her boyfriend, Brian's house.
"Yes." She said sternly.
"Whyyyyy?" I whined.
"Because you are my best friend forever." She stated.
I sighed and gave up trying. I've been telling her how much I don't want to go to the party since two weeks ago. Two weeks! But she just kept pushing me over the edge. Now we are at Brian's birthday party.
I know right. Unbelievable. For a guy to have a birthday party. But this is Brian we are talking about, one of the most popular guys in our school. So there's no doubt that he has to throw a party for every little thing he achieved.
"Hey, look who finally decided to show up." Brian greeted as he walked over to Cara. He hugged her and gave her a peck on the lips. I smiled watching how in love they are.
"Sorry B for being late. Someone was being childish." Cara reasoned as she glared at me. I raised my eyebrows.
Brian chuckled. "Typical Vicky."
I gasped and put a hand on my chest where the heart is. "Oh, you know me so well. I'm so touched." I mocked as I wiped my imaginary tears.
They both rolled their eyes playfully.
"Come on, let's go to the VVIP section I have reserved for you guys." He said, winking at Cara before walking ahead.
Cara turned to me and whispered, "I love him so much."
I giggled as I see my best friend happy. I nodded my head and patted on her shoulder. "Come on. I wanna see if we have our own special food." I joked.
Cara smiled and started walking. I followed behind her like a lost puppy. I have always hated the crowds. They make me feel so dizzy with the amount of people here.
Suddenly I bumped into someone. I sighed. "Sorry," I apologized, not sincerely.
"Don't apologize if you are not even being sincere." The guy spatted and that was when I lost it. I shot a glare up at him, just to lock my eyes with a hot guy.
Typical romance novel, bumping into a hotstuff and fell in love in the first sight. Well, thank God it's me, because I don't really give a damn about a greek god like him or whatnot, not when I already have somebody else in my heart.
"Anything that makes you sleep at night." I muttered and started to walk pass him. But before I could even get away, he grabbed my arm and turned me around forcefully. I almost winced.
He stared into my eyes intently for a slight moment before he spoke out, "You are annoying."
I widened my eyes as he said that but quickly covered it up. I gave him a smile and say, "Then you should be grateful because you won't see me ever again. Goodbye."
With that I walked away, and started to search for Cara and Brian.

As I walked into the school's hall, the first thing I saw was Brian and his friends grouping in front of the lockers. I slowed my walking pace down, thinking whether I should greet him or not. I don't really like his friends that much, except for him of course, and also one particular person in that group.
"Hey, Vicky." Brian said, interrupting me from my thoughts. Well, okay.
I gave him a slight smile which didn't reach my eyes, before trying to walk pass him and his friends, eager to get away after seeing his friends' amused faces.
Of course I failed.
"Hey Vicky." One of the guys mocked Brian who ended up giving him a death glare. I shifted uncomfortably and gave him a smile, well I tried my best.
Others started to laugh and in the meantime, I continued to walk before any of them had the chance to stop me again.
"Victoria," thump.
Hearing the voice that I used to love so much, I halt in my place, not sure of what to do. Should I just ignore him or should I pretend to already moved on?
"Hi." He greeted nervously.
I took a deep breath before turning around to face him. I can do this. He's in the past now, what could possibly go wrong? Am I right?
"Hey, Zander." I forced a smile.
"Hi..uh, actually.. I-I have something that I want to tell you." He put his hand on the back of his neck, rubbing it.
I tilted my head a bit to the side and furrowed my eyebrows. What does he want to talk about? We are over, right?
Zander was my boyfriend of two years. We started to see each other when we were 16. I met him at one of the party Brian held, and we instantly clicked. I got to know him for two months before he gathered up his courage to ask me to become his girlfriend. I was so happy, I had a really big crush on him.

Flashback
Today is our two years anniversary. I can't wait to see his face after he saw the first cake I've ever made. He must be very surprised, since I have never enter the kitchen, at all.
It's a chocolate cake, I know it's his favourite. Especially when there's banana filling and more chocolate as its frosting. Honestly I'm proud of it. Can't believe I just had to make a trial of it twice!
While I stared at my artwork in awe, my phone suddenly went off. I rushed over to the living room to take it as it was on the sofa. I checked the id just to see that it is the handsome devil who is calling me. My smile widened as I answered the call.
"I'm not ready yet." I joked.
There was a slight silent, which left me in confusion, but that disappeared when I finally heard his voice.
"Hi, ba-Victoria."
What? He never calls me by my full name, except if there is something serious going on.
"Hey, what's wrong? Are you okay?" I genuinely asked.
There it is again. Silence.
"I-I'm fine. You see. I need to tell you something."
Whoa, he sounds nervous. Is he going to ask me to marry him? We are just 18! Chill, dude.
I rolled my eyes at my stupid thought.
"Shoot."
"Here's the thing. We..We're done."
Thump.
"I'm sorry, what is it?" I seriously don't think that I heard it right.
I heard him sigh. "We're done, Victoria. I can't keep on going with this relationship. I'm-"
It was silent for a short moment before he continued,
"I'm tired."

It's been a month since we broke up. We have never talked to each other again. That phone call was our last conversation. Well until today, of course..
I've tried my very best to ignore his presence, Brian being Cara's boyfriend isn't helping at all. Well at least Cara was there for me. She helped me forget about him by making me go to blind dates. I'm only 18 for goodness' sake. I don't need a husband yet.
Making myself back to the reality, I cleared my throat and adjusted my posture. I locked my eyes with his once again, "What is it?"
He looked around and back at me. "Not here..." He muttered.
"Are you free after school today?" He asked me, his eyes filled with hopefulness.
I let my brain work.
