I know it's been a while since I updated. Super busy and demanding lang talaga ng real life. Well here is the last chapter of The Princess. Thank you for those of you who patiently waited for almost 2 and a half years for the story to conclude.
There's an epilogue coming up after this. I'm hoping to post it before this year ends.

Xian leaned on the door as he watch his very pregnant wife, goes through the contents of the refrigerator. He just came home from a meeting and he was exhausted from the tedious talks about politics and business. This past week, ginagabi na siya ng uwi kaya hindi na niya naabutan na gising si Kim and he miss her terribly. Kaya today he made sure that he’s able to come home early.
These past few months has been the happiest time of their married life. Xian has been so attentive to Kim’s every need. He’s the one who try to find Kim’s weird cravings and make sure that she will have it. His friend Mateo, even warned him about the mood swings that she may have but thank goodness his wife didn’t have any of those.
Everyone in the palace is also excited about the upcoming new baby prince/princess. Kim and Xian decided na hindi muna nila aalamin ang gender ng baby and they will just wait till he or she is born.
The new nursery has also already been decorated, which they have decided that it will be the room that Kim used to stay in during the first few months of their marriage, before they shared a room. The room also has an adjacent door so they would be closer to the baby. As soon as he got home he went straight to their bedroom only finding the room empty. He then went downstair and heard a cluttering noise in the kitchen where he found his wife rummaging through with the contents inside the fridge and busy looking for plates to put it in. He should have known that he would find her here. She has been spending a lot of time in the kitchen lately.
Tuwing kinakamusta niya si Kim sa mga staff ng palasyo, lagi nilang kinukwento na lagi daw itong nasa kitchen. Lagi daw kasi silang nagugutom ni baby. She even tell manang Julie to take the day off dahil wala naman siyang gagawin and she can manage by herself in the kitchen
“Hey Xi, kanina ka pa ba diyan?” Kim said when she saw Xian standing by the doorway. She then came up to him and kissed him.
“I just got home love. I was looking for you in the bedroom but you weren't there. Akala ko you’ll be resting by now.” Xian replied as he hugged Kim.
“Nagutom kasi kami ng anak mo eh” sagot naman ni Kim while gently carressing her big tummy. “Kanina we ate lunch kaso bigla akong nagcracrave for something. Di ko nga lang alam kung ano.”
Natawa naman si Xian sa asawa. Her facial expression was priceless ang bilis talaga magiba ng mood bigla kasi itong sumimangot after saying na hindi niya alam kung ano ang kakainin niya.
“Tara let’s find out nga kung ano ang gustong kainin ni baby,” Xian said as he put his arm around his wife’s shoulder and caress her tummy. “Para mabusog na si baby at makapagpahinga na si mommy.”
He was then able to find pizza and cakes inside the fridge. He then holf them up both in front of Kim asking her which one she prefer. "Pizza or Cake?"
"Chocolate cake.." Kim said.
"Cake it is then." Xian smiled and placed the plate with cake in front of her.
Kim started to eat three spoonfull at a time as soon as he set the plate in front her. He couldn't help but chuckle as he look at his wife. She looks awefully cute as she enjoys eating her cake. He then looked around wondering where the staff would be, pero ayaw niya nang tanungin si Kim.
"I gave manang Julie a day off," Kim said na parang nabasa ang iniisip nito.
"Bakit? What If mapagod ka?" Concern na taning ni Xian.
"Hindi naman ako mapapagod, I have nothing to do. I finished almost all the books I've been reading. and I hate being a burden. I told myself i don't want to become a baby during this pregancy Xi." medyo malungkot na sabi ni Kim.
He then stood up and went next to his wife to give her a hug.
"You know you are not a burden to us mahal. We love taking care of you. Ako, sina mama at papa at ang buong staff ng Maldonia. We love to take care of you. Especially now, malapit na lumabas si baby. We just want to be extra careful. You have to slow down mahal. Don't push yourself too much especially when you're feeling tired. Okay?" Malambing na sabi ni Xian sa asawa.
He heard her sigh and nooded. He thought maybe it was the hormone that is speaking again.
"Inaantok na ako Xi," Kim then said as she still leaned on his chest and placed the fork back on the plate.
"Come on, we can take a nap, I'll lay down with you until you fall asleep." Xian said. At saka niya inalalayan si Kim papunta sa kanilang kwarto.

A month later
"Ahhhhhhh Xi...." Kim woke up from a sharp pain in the dawn hours of the morning. She clutch her tummy with her right hand as she continue to shake Xian who is still sleeping on her left side.
Xian was startled awake from the scream and panicked as he saw the state Kim is in. Pain is written all over her face and he doesn't know where to start.
"Xian manganganak na ako, you have to take me to the hospital." and just as she finished saying that he felt that their bed was soaked.
"My water just broke Xi, ahhhhh dali we need to get to the hospital." Kim said.
Xian then snapped out from the shock and started to call Manong Ivan, their driver to ready the car. She then carried Kim to the car and there he saw that his mom and dad at the foyer not caring if they're still in their nightclothes.
"Ma, manganganak na si Kim," natatarantang sabi ni Xian.
"You have to calm down hijo. Kim, hija how are you feeling? I know it's painful but you just have to breath in and breath out alright." Xian's mom said.
"Don't worry Xian, we'll let Zheny and Chen know. We'll follow you guys to the hospital." dagdag naman ni Haring Edison.
Xian held Kim's hand all throughout the ride on their way to the hospital. Her nails are already digging into his hand, but he knows this is nothing compare to the pain that she is having right now. The intervals of the contraction seems to be getting closer and closer and Kim was relief when she finally saw the entrance of the hospital.
The nurse ushered them straight away and Kim was wheeled away into a labor room.
"When did your contractions start mahal na prinsesa?" Dra. Rivera, Kim's ObGyne asked when she walked in the room.
"It started last night. I didn't really thought about it kasi I managed to fall asleep naman afterwards and I'm not due for another 2 weeks. But then, this morning I woke up from it, followed by my water breaking. Is everything okay with my baby doc? Ahhhhh..." Kim replied as another wave of contraction hit her.
Just then Xian entered the room. He saw the pain in Kim's face and rushed to her side and held her hand.
"I'm here mahal, kaya mo yan. Just breath in..breath out okay" He said as he kissed her forehead that is now covered with perspiration from the pain of labour. Kim then tried to concentrate on her breathing wishing that the pain would go away soon and that she can soon carry her baby on her arms.
"Can you give her a pain killer for it doctora?" Xian asked the doctor as he can't bear seeing his wife cringe in pain. If only he can take the pain that she is having right now upon himself.
"If she wants I can give her an epidural. This should ease her from labour pains and It's perfectly safe for the baby." The doctor explained as she saw
"Love, Did you want to have it?" Xian asked his wife while wiping the sweat on her forehead
Kim merely nodded unable to speak as another wave of contractions hit her.
Two hours later
"10 cm. I think you're ready to push you're highness." the obgyne said as she went to checked again on Kim.
"AHHHHHHH" Kim screamed as another contraction hit her. She gripped onto Xian's hand tightly for support. Her nails dug into his hands causing him to winced. But he knows that this is nothing compare to what is Kim going through right now.
"On my count of three I want you to start pushing. One two three push.."
Kim pushed all she can, pain written all over her face. Droplets of sweat are already forming on her forehead as she push again.
"Come on mahal. Breath in and push." Xian encouraged her.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" Kim screamed with all the energy she has as she pushed again.
A few seconds of silenced then came followed by a baby's cry that filled the room.
"It's a healthy baby boy!" the doctor excitedly announced.
Though tired Kim couldn't help but smile and shed tears of happiness. Xian mirrored the same emotions as his wife. He can't explain the feelings that he had as soon as he heard their baby cry. He looked lovingly at his wife and gave her a quick passionate kiss.
"Thank you for giving me a baby boy. I love you." Xian said to Kim as their lips parted.
"I love you more mahal." Kim replied. "Where is he I want to see him?" she asked.
Just then the nurse approached them having their baby wrapped. She carefully placed their newborn baby on Xian's arm.
"Hi baby, I'm your daddy. I'm so happy to finally meet you" Xian cooed to the baby. He felt an instant connection with the baby as soon as he had him on his arm. He thought maybe this is what people called 'lukso ng dugo'. You feel this unexplainable feeling of joy and love.
"And here's your beautiful mommy." he continued as he gently lay him on Kim's chest. Kim couldn't help but smile as he watched the interaction between father and son for the first time a few minutes ago.
"He's beautiful." Kim said while gently fixing the blanket that is wrapped around the baby as she studies him. "What should we call him Xi?" she looked up to her husband.
"Xander.." Xian replied. "I think Xander would suit him."
"Xander Lance Lim" Kim added.
"Hi Xander, do you like your name baby?" Kim gently said to baby Xander and then as if agreeing his dark brown eyes open blinking several times before letting out a yawn.
"Looks like he likes his name." Xian chuckled.
"He sure does." Kim replied. "Looks like he's dozing off again."
"I think you should rest as well love, I can see that your tired. I'll place Xander here and will let our parents know that we have a baby boy. And I'm sure you'll be needing a whole lot of energy to deal with visitors later. Our baby prince is going to be a popular baby in Maldonia that I'm sure." Xian told Kim.
Now that the adrenalin and hype from giving birth is gone, she starts to feel the fatigue. "Yeah I think I will." Kim replied as she handed Xander back to Xian. Not long after Kim fell asleep and Xian sat on the chair next to Kim's bed as he held onto a sleeping Xander on his arms.
That's the setting that Zheny, Chen, Edison and Menchu found when they entered Kim's private room. They couldn't help but smile as they see the little family. They're all excited to see their new apo but seeing that they are all resting they didn't want to intrude so they just quietly left the room and waited until they are all awake.

After a few days Kim was discharged from the hospital. Her old room became Xander's nursery. All of the staff at Maldonia was excited to see their little new prince. And sure enough Xander is so popular among the people of Maldonia. However, the couple made sure that he wouldn't have so much publicity.
The new grandparents are also excited with their new apo. Almost everyday Zheny and Chen would make a trip to the Palace to make sure that they are able to spend time with Xander. Kim and Xian already can see that they are going to spoil him. Edison and Menchu also never fail visit Xander everyday.
A month after Xander's birth and some of the facial features of his father is already showing on him. Kim remembered seeing a photograph of Xian when he was a baby and is sure is the spitting image of Xander. No matter how busy he gets with all his work Xian always make sure that he is a hands on dad on Xander. And for that Kim admired and loved him more for it.
Whenever Xander would wake up in the middle of the night and cry, Xian would be the one who would make him go to sleep. and couldn't even ask more for a better husband and father than Xian.

"Make sure you kiss Xander for us Kimmy," Kim's mother said from the other side of the phone.
"Yes, nay i'll make sure I'll kiss him for you." Kim replied. "You and tatay take care alright, I'll take to you soon."
"Bye anak," Zheny and Chen said in unison.
Kim then hang up the phone and went to the nursery. When she came at the door, she couldn't help but admire the scene in front of her. Xian animatedly talk to Xander while sitting on the white leather couch in the nursery. Xander just smile back and laugh at his father as a reply.
"Make sure when you grow up son, that you would find someone who is as beautiful and smart as mommy to be your princess alright?" Xian said to his son.
Xander just drool as he sucks his hands and smile at his father.
Kim could't help but laugh at the disgust face that Xian made when Xander's hand full of saliva went on his face.
"Xander, now that is not nice baby." Xian said.
"Hey love, your eavesdropping to our man to man conversation," Xian jked to his wife when he heard her laughing at the doorway.
She came close to them. "Man to man? Isn't that a bit too early?" Kim chuckled. "I don't want Xander to grow up yet. Stay like this for a while baby." Kim said as she kiss Xander's chubby cheeks.
"Well he won't be staying this small for long love," Xian said as he put his other free arm around Kim who sat next to him.
"I know look at him, he grew a lot in that three months." Kim said recalling how small Xander when he is born.
"He sure did right baby?" Xian lifting Xander and kissing his cheeks filling the room with Xander's laughter.
Kim smiled as she see how perfect her life is right now. A husband that love her and a beautiful son that is a product of their love made her life complete. They are her life and she couldn't ask for anything more right now.
