I've been leaning beside Shay's bed for about thirty minutes now and I can honestly say; I have done nothing but watch Shay yap his mouth uncontrollably. I watched him pitifully for minutes and minutes and quite frankly; I'm amazed how he hasn't ran out of things to say yet.

Subject after subject. It's amusing, really.

I thought; was I this dumb looking when I was drunk before?

"So that's how I hooked up with Sam's cousin," Shay proudly beamed. "It was radical!"

I nodded, letting him know that despite his useless conversations, I was still listening quite attentively. Not that it interested me or anything, I just find it fasinating to look at Shay talk. His freckled nose would wiggle at every finished sentence and his cheeks would turn redder and redder as he smiled.

I like to hear him hiccup; it made me feel supreme. Like, how I'm the in-the-right-condition, and the responsible one.

But hey, even if he was sober, I would still be the absolute resposible one, right? Yep. No doubt about that.

"Hey." Shay's smile was slowly falling. "You haven't talk in a while, have you?"

More like I haven't talked at all...

I scratched the back of my neck as I searched for a reply to an obviously drunk person. "Well, I'm more of the listener than the talker, Shay."

Shay puffed adorably in respond, slapping the air between us while trying to maintain his balance. "Don't worry, you can talk. Come on, talk to me. I'm you're friend. Bring it here, babe, bring it here."

I raised my brow at him, wondering what to do now. "No thanks." I said.

Shay pouted. "Come on, Penny! You can tell me anything. Really, just name it. Tell Shay all your little secrets."

I winced at the thought. I turned my head to my left, not wanting to look at his childish expression while looking at me. "Oh, Shay." I slightly shook my head.

"Oh, Penny." He mimicked me. "Come on, we're friends aren't we? Talk to me. I mean, you can even tell me if you masturbate. I wouldn't judge. Heck, I even--"

"Shay!" I hopelessly exclaimed, rubbing three of my fingers agaisnt my forehead. I can't believe how open he is towards me.

"What?" He grabbed another bottle of beer at his side. "I told you, didn't I? Tell me all your secrets! Come on, mate, that's what friends do, right?"

Briefly, I closed my eyes and thought; how did I ended up in this situation? I sat quietly, listening to Shay yap about friendship stuff and how we should be open to one another.

In my opinion, he was giving me an indirect lecture.

I tsked. Wow, who would have thought Mr. Popular was this lonely...

"Shay," I said slowly. "maybe its about time to rest."

Shay is already looking half asleep, and I probably watched him sway back and forth for about a minute now. The last remaining bottle is already half empty,  but I doubt he could finish it before puking first.

Shay carefully shook his head. "But we haven't talk yet."

I leaned forward to reach for the bottle in his hand. "We could talk tomorrow." I said. "Just give the beer here, Shay."

He stubbornly leaned back. "Not until we talk,"

"We are talking." I pointed out. "But now, it's time to rest. Come on, let me help you get into bed. I'll sleep on the floor and--wait. Wait, let me change that-- I'll sleep on the couch."

Shay raised his brow at me. He locked his eyes into mine quite handsomely. For a moment, it actually took my breath away. His face had always been beautifully fierced. He could look at anyone without feeling embarrassed, cause with that face alone, you could gain too much confidence.

Just now, I just realized why Shay is so popular. How he had always been twice as popular than Lloyd. How Lloyd, compared to him, will always be second best in Belleflower.

Shay's that good looking. And I couldn't believe how I didn't fully understand that until now.

He exhaled, and sat back properly as he place the bottle at the side. He settled himself as he was trying to nail something.

"Okay," he looked at the left side of the floor. "Fine. Fine."

I looked at him.

"If you want... we could talk about boys."

And that, is how you make a person's jaw hang.

"I mean, as crazy as it seems, you are a girl, Penny. And as a girl you are, you must be interested in boys. I hear alot about girls sleepovers, and 80% of the time, they talk about boys. So, as an understanding friend that I am, sure...we could talk about boys. If that would make you happy."

Is he seriously SERIOUS?!

The amount of confusion I felt was beyond my capabilities. Never have I thought Shay was this drunk to say such bull. I couldn't believe how desperate he sounded just now, how weird and unexplainable his words were.

Before he had the chance to talk again, I immediately raised my hand at him, stopping him. "Shay, please."

He held a confused look, making it seem like I'm the drunk one. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"Shay, just please don't say another word. If you do, oh I swear I'd--Hachoo!"

Woah. Guess my body's still weak agaisnt cold weathers. The rain never stopped since it started. Since then, the surroundings became chilly and I regretted not bringing my jacket. I am wearing a sweater, but I guess it's not good enough.

I had always been weak when it comes to any cold temperatures. It's one of the reasons why I always brought a jacket with me wherever I go. It's also one of the reasons why I adore men clothing. They're comfy and they had always given me a warm feeling. I developed this habit of always borrowing my brothers clothes for he had always lend me his jackets, which were thicker than the ones I have.

Let's face it, men clothes are the best.

I feel my nose running as I started to sniff. I shivered alittle but it didn't seem to be noticeable.

Hachoo!

Again.

I eyed on Shay and found him looking at me with wide eyes.

"I know what you're thinking." I said. "But I'm fine, really. Just a little chilly."

Shay kept looking at me. Then, he stood up and went towards his closet. He took out a huge jacket and threw it at me.

When I took a good look at it, my eyes sparkled. His jacket was branded of one of the most expensive ones out there. It's black, and looks so cozy. The fabric's soft, and it would've given anyone a warm feeling just by looking at it. And just a little add up, it'd make anyone look cool and trendy.

"Wear it." Shay said.

"No kid! Of course I'll wear it!"

And not a moment to lose, I quickly put it on in less than a second. I felt my skin warming up as the fabric was perfect for the ideal temperature. I closed my eyes and cuddled myself warmly, smiling and feeling myself getting better by the second.

It feels so cozy.

I let out a breath as I tucked my toes in and hugged my legs. I tilted my head, loving the jacket more and more by each passing second. "This feels nice." I praised.

I sensed how Shay just smiled.

Despite the warm feeling-- Hachoo!

No worries, my body isn't fully adopted to the warm jacket yet.

"Still cold?" I heard him ask.

"Not really." I tuckled myself deeper into the jacket.

It only took a few seconds before I heard him coming towards me. I opened eyes and found him opening his arms and leaning at me.

"Shay, you don't re--"

Before I could finish, Shay had already wrapped his arms around me while tucking agaisnt my right side.

I could smell the beer from him but it didn't really bothered me as much I thought. His warmth was a greater catch than to be bothered by his scent.

"Shay. Oh geeez. You don't have to do this." I tried to move back.

He moaned comfortably. His hug was gentle and it really warmed me up. I looked at him and found a smile on his face. His cheeks were still red and his nose still distracted me thanks to its freckles.

He looked so comfortable, and that smile on his face never left. I felt his every breath and his hair softly pressed my cheek.

It felt so incredibly warm and I just couldn't help but admit it felt good.

My muscles eased up as I allowed him to hug me. I leaned back to his bed and hoped for him to fall asleep.

"You're so cold, Penny." he said quietly. His forehead just leaned against my cheek so I guess he meant my cheek.

"I'm weak in cold...stuff." I admitted. I adjusted myself to get into a more proper position.

He gave me a weak chuckle. "You're still a girl."

I rolled my eyes.

I allowed him to chuckle by himself. I didn't even care if there was a reason or not. He's drunk and God knows what he's thinking about right now.

"You're such a win win, Penny." he said between his ongoing chuckles.

"What do you mean?"

He shrugged. "You being my very first friend. I think it's a fair first expierence."

My eyesbrow twitched. "Care to explain further?"

He nodded. "I mean...you're a girl-boy, Penny Ray. It means getting a friend who is a boy, and a friend who is a girl. It's like- killing two birds with one stone, right?"

That didn't even make sense. But since he's probably seeing God knows what, then heck I'm going to let it slide.

"Could you imagine?" Shay unwarely continued. "We could play boy games and share rumors with one another at the same time! Now, isn't that fantastic?"

I puffed at his say.

He is drunk.

"Penny..." his tone got slightly serious.

"Yeah?" I kindly replied.

"I hope you could see me as a friend soon.."

I pressed my lips together. Weirdly, his words gripped my heart and I couldn't help but hold my breath as I looked at him.

He looks asleep, and quite looking peaceful too. His every breath made him look human in spite all the negative things I thought about him before. He looks so much like a baby as we speak that even I, felt soft inside.

I brushed his hair. "We're already friends, Shay."

He didn't reply. And that's when I knew he had already fallen asleep.

I gave him my simple smile before I slowly removed his embrace around me. I helped him lay on his bed and tucked him in.

After so, I took one pillow and a blanket and laid on the floor.

For some weird reasons, I didn't choose the couch.

I choose to sleep in the same room as my friend, Shay.

-----

When I woke up, Shay wasn't there on the bed where I left him. I scratched my head and sat up straight. After I stretched my muscles, I stood up.

I went out the room and felt the cold floor on my feet. The morning was cold, but thanks to Shay's cozy jacket, I think I'll be all right.

Mornings like these, I think I deserve a hot coffee.

When I stood infront of the stairs, I heard a feminine voice which made me stop. I decided to listen.

"I can't believe you let your friend sleep on the floor like that." A lady's voice said.

"I didn't mean to." It's Shay's.

"He's so small too."

He...

I thought so...

"It won't happen again, I promise." said Shay. "Well, anyways, are the pancakes ready?"

"Hey." I immediately greeted as soon as I got down from the stairs. "Morning."

"Oh...morning." A woman gave me a generous smile.

"Hey, Penny. This is my Mom." Shay introduced.

I nodded at her.

Her being Shay's Mom didn't really registered at first. She was far too young to look like one. Her figure is tall, and very slim; similar to a model's. Her blonde hair is thick, long and very luscious. Her lips formed a perfect heart shape and her eyes are just awe worthy. Shay got her eyes, green and very starrable. Her skin's pale, and her face is so pretty that no aging sign could be spot.

"You're...a girl?" Her green eyes grew wide.

I kindly nodded. "Yep. I am."

She covered her mouth in a lady-like way. Her posture held perfection. She was such a doll that you couldn't help but forget about her mistake.

Shay chuckled, obviously at his Mom's mislead.

"Sorry about making you sleep on the floor, Penny." Shay apologized, looking like he really meant it.

"No, it's no big deal." I said. "Really."

"Are you sure your back isn't feeling any kind of pain?" His Mom held her chest. "I'm sorry for my ignorant child. It won't happen again, I promise. Next time, he'll definitely make you sleep on his bed."

I gave her a smile. "No, Mrs. White. It's not really a deal. It's fine."

"Please, call me Merida." She reached her hand out. I took it.

"Penny Ray." I said.

Before we could do any more introduction, a low, and a rather husky voice suddenly came along.

"And I'm Albie."

I spun around and saw a blond haired dude walking towards us. I wrinkled my face as I looked at him, shirtless.

He looks about 20-23-24 or so. He's taller than Shay by inches. He held more maturity, however, he has the same cocky look all the same.

If you look closer, you could see how these two were obviously brothers. They look alike. Really.

If Albie looked more younger, then heck they could be twins for all we know. The only obvious difference that they have were their hair. Shay has chocolate colored hair while Albie has blonde. Guess Albie got his hair from his Mom.

"Albie!" Merida exclaimed. "Put on a shirt! We have a guest."

Albie just simply smirked at his mother then on to me. "Nah, you don't mind, right junior?"

I raised my brow at him and took a step back.

I'm beginning to dislike this guy.

"Albie, dear." Merida sighed. "This is Penny Ray...She's Shay's guest, so please be nice."

Albie glanced at his Mom as he raised his brows. Then, he came closer to me and took a better look.

When he seemed to realize it, he smirked. "Oh, sorry, Princess. I couldn't really see your figure with that jacket on."

I nearly spat.

If only his mother wasn't there.

"And now that I think about it," he leaned back. "Isn't this my brother's?"

His eyes rolled to Shay. When Shay raised his brow at him, Albie gave him the look.

Like, I-know-what-you-did look.

Shay laughed at his brother and raised both his hands up. "Fuck no!" he laughed. "We didn't do anything, I swear!"

"Albie." Merida reprehended the scene.

"Yeah, yeah you didn't." Albie gave him a suspicious look.

They continued to laugh while Merida tried to control them.

Looking at them, I crossed both my arms over my chest and watched them laugh.

When I had enough, I decided to head up stairs to get away from them.

When I got to Shay's room, the first thing I saw was my phone. I completely forgot about it and how I didn't tell my Mom about this. I bet she's worried to death by now.

I clicked my phone open and guess what-- there were fifteen unread messages and seven miss calls.

I opened my message box. When I saw the person who had send me the most messages, I felt stunned. For it wasn't my Mom. It was Lloyd.

He sent me nine messages and four miss calls.

Mom gave me two messages and one miss call.

Kim gave me four messages and two miss calls.

Firstly, I looked at Lloyd's messages. He asked how I was doing and apologized for what had happened yesterday. He said he was just worried and didn't want anything to happen to me.

He kept asking me how was I with Shay and if he was treating me well.

Seeing Lloyd being the most worried one, I figured he deserved my reply first.

I texted; "Hey, Lloyd. Sorry for the late reply. I forgot all about my phone, you see. But you don't need to worry. I'm fine. Really I am. Nothing happened and Shay didn't do anything, I swear.

Thanks for worrying, bud. I really appreciate it."

Not moments later, I got an immediate reply from Lloyd.

It said; "Fucking God you replied! I was so fucking worried Penny, Jesus.

Well, I'm glad you're alright. How are you? Where are you right now? The storm last time was massive, are you okay? I didn't see you come home yesterday."

~

"Yeah, I'm good. I'm actually still at Shay's right now. I kind of stayed over. But don't fucking flip, please. Like I said, nothing happened so don't make a deal out of it, okay?"

While I texted Kim and Mom back, I waited for Lloyd's reply but in the end...it didn't came.

I guess he's mad again...

When I went down, Merida, Shay, Albie, and I ate breakfast together.

The breakfast was like a feast, with all the fancy food in stuff.

It would've been more enjoyable if Albie weren't there though. He kept being an ass the whole time and I really wanted to hiss at him.

I think Shay knows it too, cause each time I glared at his brother, he would give the scene a small laugh.

I could tell; Shay and Albie were close. They talked and talked and talked during breakfast and they never seemed to ran out of things to say.

Yes, what they were talking about were boy-ish things like; boobs, soccer, and muscles and stuff. But hey, they're boys and boys just had to be boys.

When breakfast ended, I annouced my decision to leave and thanked them for their hospitality.

Merida offered me a ride home but I declined since I didn't want to be a bother.

I declined Albie's offer because- well- he's Albie. I mean, I haven't spent more than three hours with the guy and I already decided that I never, ever want to do anything with him ever again.

With his flirty looks and tease, it didn't take too long before I knew I hated his guts and all that is Albie.

I also declined Shay's because I knew very well that he's still hang over from last night and that I really want him to rest for now.

Again, I said my thanks to them and genuinely waved at Shay and his Mom.

Outside was still kind of wet so Merida lend me her jacket. I put it on and wore the hood up. When I got through the front door, I closed the door behind me and walked across their yard.

I looked down at my every step, looking for any wet areas so I wouldn't accidentally slip.

When I lifted my head, I stopped and-for a moment- I think my heart did as well.

I saw a young boy sitting across the other side of the road, wearing his hood up while looking at me. It's the same jacket he had been wearing for three years now. It was dark blue and even though I had always told him to wash it atleast once a week, he would always wash it once in two weeks instead.

I could still see his piercing from this distance. I watched him move his way towards me as I stood my guard.

When he finally reached me, I spoke; "What are you doing here, Lloyd?"

He shrugged. "To pick you up, obviously."

I smiled at him, looking at his wet hair, wet jacket, wet sneakers, and wet baggy pants.

"You didn't have to, boy." I chuckled, knowing he actually waited for me for atleast an hour or so.

"I wanted to see if you were alright." he admitted.

"I am."

"Well, I wanted to see for myself." he said. "Is that a crime?"

I grinned, then pushed his chest to start moving. "Okay, brother, let's just go. I'll make it up to you by buying you ice cream."

"Starbucks would be nice." he suggested. "A hot coffee would do the trick. It is fucking cold and a damn ice cream wouldn't help, Ms. Ray."

I snorted. "Sorry, Mr. Hoodie. Didn't mean to piss you off this early in the morning."

"No problem, Pinky." he referred to Merida's pink jacket I'm wearing. "I'll take a venti."

"Okay." I shrugged. "I pay, you order."

"Okay."

"Hey Lloyd."

"Yeah?"

"Did you know Shay's Mom is hot beyond belief?"
