The beautiful girl with the slender hips,
The high cheekbones and rosy lips
With the long straight hair and luminous eyes,
In the middle of the night, still cries.

The straight A-student with the witty mind,
The cleverest girl you could ever find
But one thing that still remained unclear,
Was why her pillow was stained with tears.

The elegant dancer with her pointed toes,
A smile on her face, striking a pose
Her expression serene, her talent divine,
Pretending every day that she was fine.

The optimist made up of ever lasting joy,
Broken to pieces because of one boy
She made others laugh in order to hide,
All of the pain she felt inside.

The player had a collection of broken hearts,
He chased after girls like it was some sort of art
One time or another he came into their lives,
Then cut their hearts open with his polished knives.

He confessed to his new girl about his sinful past,
Promised that that time would be the very last
She'd been warned countless times by the victims before,
She was told not to venture through those dark doors.

They told her she'd be used, then one day thrown away,
Only loved for what she was known for, in this scandalous charade.

But the insecure girl did not understand,
She forgave the boy and held his hand
Beauty, talent, humour and brains,
Despite having those, his exes were in pain
They called his new girl weak, just another toy,
Told her he'd misuse her, he wasn't the right boy.

But still she held onto him, didn't ever let go,
What she felt in her heart, the others would never know
For although he bruised, broke and taunted,
At least he made her feel like she was wanted.

~Via

If he only loved the other girls for their beauty and brains, why did he fall for her?

She let him break her heart because no one else wanted it.

More than anything, she let him have her because at least he loved her more than she loved herself.
