I wake up abruptly to the mellifluous sound of Awsten's voice.
"Babe wake up, we have to get on a plane in 20 minutes."
I immediately shoot up, "Why didn't you wake me?"
He ignored my question and gets all of his bags.
We race to the airport, leaving a note for everyone when they wake up.
The flight is surprisingly short and we finally arrive In Houston Texas.
As we get closer to Awsten's house I grow extremely nervous.
He must notice because he holds my hand tightly the rest of the car ride.
"You'll be fine.", he reassures me as we walk up to the front door.
The door opens before he can even knock on it.
"Hi hunny!", a calming voice says and hugs Awsten.
"Hi mom."
|Grayson's POV|
By the time I wake up, everyone but Jack is gone.
"Good morning.", he grunts.
"Morning, you sound miserable."
"Well it's Christmas and I'm on a bus while everyone is with family.", he says pouring us coffee.
"Yeah, I feel. I'm nervous for Nova.", I admit.
He grunts again.
"Are you mad about her leaving or something?"
He sighs, "If I tell you something will you keep it between us?"
I nod quickly, "Of course. I won't tell anyone."
"I'm jealous."
"Do you like Awsten?", I gasp.
Jack chuckles, "No. I like Nova."
My eyes almost fall out of my head, "Oh my god! How long?"
"Years."
Then it hits me that he feels exactly how I do, "Awe, Jack. I'm sorry, I get how you feel. It sucks a whole lot and sometimes it's crippling."
"It's whatever, I know she's in love and as long as she's happy I'm okay. I just can't talk to anyone about it. The guys always wanted us to date but then Awsten came along. They would want me to tell her."
"I mean, you can if you want to tell her.", I suggest.
"Nah, even if she does like me I would feel terrible about it.", he shoots me down.
"Wanna watch Guardians of the Galaxy?", I suggest, trying to change the subject. He loves Drax.
He nods and cracks a smile.
|Nova's POV|
"And you must be Nova.", she hugs me.
"It's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Knight."
"Ditto. Come inside, it's freezing out here. I have presents.", she invites us.
The inside of her house is gorgeous, and it smells like cinnamon. It's very warm and feels homey.
She hands Awsten a wrapped jar and he opens it eagerly.
It's an entire jar filled with guitar picks.
He laughs, "Thank you, mom."
She also got him new hoodies and a pair of shoes.
"Here you go sweetheart.", Mrs. Knight hands me a wrapped box.
I awe, "You really didn't have to."
"I wanted to. Awsten has told me a lot about you and I found something perfect."
I can't stop smiling as I gently unwrap the box.
It's an incredibly fluffy pillow.
"It's so cute for long distance couples. You both get one and whenever one of you touches it, the other lights up in that place so you're kind of together."
"Awe oh my god, that's so precious. Thank you so much.", I hug her.
Then Awsten hands me a box, "I know you said no gifts but I had to."
I smile at him and open it.
It's a bracelet. It has many charms on it.
The ones I can see are Santa, a water drop, an A, an ATL charm, a bus charm, a dog charm, a music note charm, and a heart.
"Aws, this is so perfect. Thank you so much.", I kiss him, "I got you a gift too."
I hand him the wrapped box and pray he likes it.
He opens the box to find a necklace.
"Is that a supernova?", he asks smiling.
"Yeah."
"I love it. Thank you babe.", he hugs me.
(Y'all this is $1,950, I'm yelling.)
"Aws!", I hear a girl say and hug him.
I'm pretty sure it's his sister.
"Gracie! This is my girlfriend, Nova.", he introduces me.
"Hi! I love your brand.", she compliments.
"Awe, Thank you.", I smile.
"It's so nice to meet you.", A man says walking over to me, shaking my hand.
"You too, Mr. Knight.", I smile.
We all sit down at the table and begin eating food.
"Wow, you're an amazing cook Mrs. Knight.", I compliment.
"Thank you, Nova."
Everyone proceeds to ask me questions to get to know me better.
"How did you two meet?", Mr. Knight asks.
I look at Awsten hoping he'll answer, "She takes pictures and sells stuff and fixes things on tour. The band that we open for consists of her best friends and they've been on tour together for a total of like 7 years. I'm pretty sure I had a crush on her the first day I met her.", he chuckles.
"So sweet. Please don't tell me he took you behind a dumpster for your first date?", his mom asks and the group chuckles.
"Mom, oh my gosh. I took my first girlfriend behind a restaurant for our first date because it had a good view of the city.", Awsten explains.
I laugh, "Yuck. No, he actually set up a whole thing for our date with my friends. He had lights and music and a table in the woods with food. It was really sweet."
"I taught you right son.", his dad compliments.
Awsten looks at me and mouths 'oh my god.' and I suppress laughter.
The rest of the dinner is pretty calm and Awsten's mom invites me to the couch to watch some home videos.
Awsten was such a cute kid.
"It was so great to meet you, sweetie. You're delightful, you're welcome back anytime.", Mrs. Knight hugs me.
"Thank you so much, it was nice to meet you too."
"See you hopefully soon! Text me, loser.", Gracie says, hugging me. The 9 hours we were here Gracie and I got along really well.
Unfortunately Mr. Knight had to go to work so he said his goodbyes earlier.
"Bye guys.", Awsten hugs them, "I love you."
I wait in the car while he talks to his family.
Today was so good, I'm so happy.
"You ready?", Awsten asks as he gets into the car.
"Yup.", I smile.
"Did you have a good time?", he asks.
"Yeah your family is so sweet."
"They adore you."
"I'm glad, it makes our future a lot easier."
He laughs, "I love you."
"I love you too, dork."
