"Ok" she runs around the room finishing setting the candles. "Now"
I close my eyes and focus "incendia"
All of the candles start to light and I smile at the fact that I did that. "You're getting there" she says. "You're really getting there"
I knew I was getting there but I also knew that it wasn't enough
Which is why I have a back up plan
Brie's POV
I haven't slept in days and I'm slowly losing my mind
I walk in the house and set the groceries on the counter. I was exhausted. However my day was brightened when Grayson walks in the room
"Hey. I see you're up on your feet" "Well someone had to go shopping and restore the fridge for you. Since I ate half of it" "thank you so much by the way" he smiles. "No problem"
"Hey have you heard anything from Ethan?" I ask. He'd been missing for two days
"Nope. I've got search parties looking for him and not a single thing has come up. I'm starting to get" I stop him from finishing
"Dont. We'll find him. He's gotta be somewhere"
Suddenly I start to feel hungry. I look in the fridge and realized that I forgot to stop by the hospital for blood...perfect
Then I remember there's a freezer with extra blood bags in the basement. It's not fresh but it's something
I walk down and open the freezer. I grab one and start to walk back
"Hey" I hear behind me
I stop and feel my fangs come in as a reflex. I slowly turn around and walk closer to the sound
Out of the darkness I see someone. Chained. Laying in blood. Lifeless
"You think I could get some of that?"
When I finally realize who it is I get infuriated
I stomp back upstairs and see him sitting in the living room
"What the hell is Dylan doing chained up in the basement?"
He looks at me. Not knowing what to say. "Uh he's uh" "spit it out"
"We couldn't just let him run free Brie" "I specifically told you not to go after him" "he knows something" "does he really? What does he know Grayson?" I cross my arms as I challenge him. He stays silent
"Yeah. That's what I thought. Kidnapping an innocent person? Way to be your brother"
Isabella's POV
I walk out of the small grocery shop of witchy things with Nina
"Thanks for taking me out with you" she says. "Well since Anna is at home I thought it would be better for the both of you if you guys kept your distance"
"Yeah" she half smiles
"Stop" she stops walking about looks around nervously. "What?" I ask. "I think we're being fo-" she faints as a man comes from behind her and walks towards me
I turn around to runaway but bumps into another man who covers my mouth and take me away
I wake up in a bed of a bedroom, surprisingly big
I run to the door and jingle the handle but it doesn't open
"Don't bother"
I turn to a voice sitting in a corner. "You're not going anywhere"
"What do you want with me?" "Don't you know? The fight is starting today" "What fight?" "The one you've been training for. We kidnapped you to keep an eye on you"
"You couldn't have just waited" he chuckles "boss wanted you here first"
"Who's boss?"
"I can't tell you that"
"But what I can do" he walks closer "is torture you until they arrive"
He steps closer and grabs my arms but is interrupted by the sound of a man screaming outside the door
He walks to the door and opened it
We saw nothing but a dead body, a heart and blood all over the walls
He stepped out more and I soon saw a figure take his heart from his chest
The figure walked into the room with the heart still in his hands. He dropped it at his feet and stared at me with anger in his eyes
"Klaus"
Ethan's POV
I wake up to see him staring at me
I try to jump at him but I was held back by chains
"Hey I don't mean to hurt you. I just need you for a favor"
"I don't do favors. Especially for people like you"
"Well it's not really your choice now is it"
"Michael I swear to god-" "Are you aware that your girlfriend is up against the fight of her life? And that her friend Olivia is helping her"
I stay silent
"Oh. Have I struck a nerve...? Did something happen between you two?" He comes in closer. "It's none of your business"
"You're right. It's not. You see with Olivia's help she might be able to survive but you are gonna help me make sure that doesn't happen"
"How about letting me go so I can rip your body apart?" He chuckles slightly walks away
As I try to break the chains he brings someone in the room
The girl sits infront of me "Who is she?" "Just a friend. She is going to make sure you do what you are told. I got a witch, who owned me, to do a little bit of dark magic and turn her into a vampire. So she is now capable of compelling you"
The girl comes closer to me and grabs my face. I try to turn away but I can't
She looks at him. He nods "Tell him"
She looks back at me
"You are going to make sure Isabella fails by getting rid of Olivia. You are going to kill her and anyone that gets in your way"
Brie's POV
I check on the babies in the nursery
They were so cute
I heard footsteps behind me stop at the doorway, I knew who it was
"Yes?" I say. "I want to talk to you"
I turn around to see him "about what? How you kidnapped a clueless boy?"
"No. About how I kidnapped a boy who is helping our worse enemy"
I furrow my eyebrows and follow him to the basement
Grayson gets a chair, sits infront of him backwards on the chair and gets ready to interrogate him
"Before you came down here, he let it slip how he killed those ten people as a sign for us. To let us know it was coming" "it? What's it?" "That's what he won't tell me"
Dylan sits there not saying a word
"Tell us what you know" "I don't know anything" "liar"
Grayson stands, rolls up his sleeve and yanks his hand in Dylan's chest. Grabbing his heart
"Do you wanna talk now?"
Dylan yelps in pain. "It's Michael. Michael made me do it"
Grayson removes his hand. "Michael? Why him?"
"He took Ethan to do his dirty work"
"But why? Where's Ethan?" Grayson yells at him
"Isabellas battle is today. And Michael wants to make sure she fails. Olivia is going to help her" he voice still had a hint of fear
"Olivia can't do that. She'll die" I step in "well that's her problem"
"Where are they?" Grayson asks. "I don't know. All I know is Michael is going to stop Olivia. In anyway he can"
Me and Grayson look at each other in fear
"Oh and Brie" I turn to him. "Michael also told me to tell you congrats on the kids"
Just as he did that I remembered the babies. I can't just leave them
I walk back in the nursery and see James sitting in a rocking chair next to the cribs
"I've got it under control. Go help your friend"
Isabella's POV
"Why are you here?" I ask him. "I could ask you the same question"
"You're here to fight it aren't you? Whatever it is that's tearing this town apart you are gonna try to help?" He questions me. "How do you know about this?"
"Same reason I'm here. My sister Freya got a call. They wanted her help as well so she did a spell to see the location of the place. While seeing the location she found you here"
"And what? You're gonna stop me?" "No im gonna save you" "tell me again why" I fold my arms and he just stares at me. "You've hunted me my whole life and now you expect me to leave with you? Not a chance"
I start to leave the room but he runs infront of me. Out of frustration I turn to him "motus" I fling him across the room. I snap his neck as he hits the ground
I'm going to do this. And I'm gonna win this
I open the big garage door and walk inside. Pure darkness fills the room as the big door slams shut
I walk more into the room and see candles lighted around the room in a circle
I hear a noise in the distance
It terrified me. I didn't know who or what I was even fighting
I feel myself get weighed down as I'm forced to a kneel position
I quickly do the silent spell Olivia told me to do when I was ready for her
I feel a chill on my skin and my heart skips a beat when I hear a very familiar voice
"Glad you could make it"
She steps out form the darkness as stands before me
"Kate?"
She smiles. "Let's get started"
Olivia's POV
"So can you tell me again what we're doing and why we are in this secret hiding place?" Devion said. "We are helping Isabella and this hiding place is so people won't find us"
I needed his help. In order to help Isabella I had to gain power that will send to her, but in order to gain more power I had to stop a human heart. I told Devion the situation and he weirdly accepted. I haven't told him this could kill me and I don't plan to
I don't want him to worry and back out
"Are you ready?" I ask. He lays on the ground infront of me. "Ready then I'll ever be"
I hold my arms out and start the spell
Isabella's POV
"How are you even here?" I ask
"Well before you killed my sister, she came to me in the prison world. She made a deal with me. She linked us so when you killed her it set me free. The deal was that if she did die, I would destroy you and everyone you ever loved. So I started here. And of course you came running down"
"I protect my family" I state. "So do I"
It was silent for a while so I decided to make the first move

Isabella sends Kate flying across the room
Kate laughs and gets up "that's all you got?"
Kate makes Isabella trip causing her to fall on her back. Isabella quickly gets up and pulls Kate closer to her and proceeds to choke her
Grayson's POV
Brie and I head to Olivia's hiding spot
She told us where this secret hiding place was a while ago. It's the same place she hid the cure in
She told all of us...except for Ethan
"You think he's in there?" Brie asks. "I don't know...I hope no-" I'm cut off by the sound of Brie screaming
I turn to see Ethan holding Brie in his arms with blood dripping from his mouth
He bit her.
He drops her on the ground and before I could react he stabs my in the chest with a wooden steak
I feel my body turn numb and grey and I fall to the ground
Narration
Olivia continues the spell, now having a semi bleeding nose, not knowing that Ethan is right outside
Ethan walks in the room. Olivia eyes open slightly as she sees Ethan looking at her "Ethan what are you doing here?"
Ethan doesn't say a word. Olivia senses the darkness around him and her and out of fear stops the spell. Devion wakes up and goes through a coughing fit on the ground. He looks up at her "liv your nose"
Ethan steps closer flinging Devion to the side causing many things to fly off the shelf and causing him to get knocked out
Olivia lifts her hand causing Ethan to back away from her
Ethan reaches for the closest thing, a wooden box, and throws it at Olivia head
Olivia immediately reached for her head and felts a warm liquid on her palm. Ethan takes this opportunity to grab her
In an attempt to stab him, Olivia lifts the sharpest thing near her. Ethan grabs her hand and squeezes her wrist
Olivia whines but still tries to win
He forces her hand down and she could feel the bones in her hand getting tighter and tighter. If she were to die right now it would be fine, that would be easier, but she was going to fight
In the midst of everything she quickly looked on the ground and saw something
It was the only option to stop him
She slowly grabbed it and stabbed it in the side of his neck
His eyebrows frown and he releases his grip. He takes the needle out of his neck and falls to the ground
Olivia quickly runs to Devion. "Damn it"
Devion slowly wakes and grabs his head. Olivialets our a sigh of relief
She quickly runs to her spell book "fuck" "What?" "I lost a connection. I have to redo this" "Olivia you're bleeding you need to rest" "no im fine"
Olivia feels her legs give out but it's caught by Devion
Devion looks back at Ethan's body still on the ground
"What did you give him?"
"The only thing that would stop him"
"The cure"
Isabella's POV
My grip on her weakened and she throws me against a walk making my head bang against it
"Your little friend gave up?"
I say some pretty complicated words to put her in a fire circle. It was the easiest thing I could do to slow her down. I enhanced the flames as much as I could then I let them down to reveal nothing
She was gone
I stopped the fire and looked around. I soon felt a sharp pain in my back. I fell to ground and see Kate holding a sharp object
"When did this become a weapon fight?" "When you were stupid enough to turn your back"
She lifted me and pushed me to a wall. I felt her hand wrap around my neck tightly. "Once this is all over I'll have enough power to bring back my family and we can take back our home. And I will kill everyone you love in the process. You're weak Isabella. You can't do anything"
As soon as she said that I started to think of him
How much I loved him. How much he loved me and would do anything for me
Just thinking about him gave me confidence. I felt strong
"I'm a Mikaelson, a Pierce and a Westfield. I'm pretty sure I can do anything"
I twisted her wrist and released it from my neck
"Errox femus" I said causing her to break her bones. Then I did another spell causing her feel as if her brain was on fire
However no matter how hard I tried, she was still strong. I almost felt weak until I remembered something that Rosa told me
"Power is drawn by emotion. If you feel strong, Your effect with magic will be strong"
I thought of something that made me strong. It wasn't family, friends or my struggles. It was him
He made me strong. He made me feel like I could do anything so I used that emotion to take her down in one big scream. Literally
I screamed as waves of energy blasted towards her. I used all I had in me and she was now on her knees bleeding from her eyes and ears. I feel myself getting a bit weak myself but I don't care
I continue using this energy until her body makes a hard echoing noise when it hits the ground. I smile, feeling relief, as I fall with her

I wake up in the house with Rosa and Nina looking at me
Rosa hugs me "you made it"
She lets me go and smiles "You were weak so we brought you here"
I nod and look around the room
I hear my phone ring and I look at the name hoping it was Ethan
Grayson
I answer "hello?"
"Thank god you answered. Are you alright?" He asks "yeah I'm fine"
"Good because you need to come home. Now."

I enter the room and see Brie, laying on Grayson's bed. She was sweaty bullets and was obviously very weak
"Hey. Brie. I'm here" I spoke lowly and softly. She turns her head to look over at me
I see the bite mark on her neck that hasn't healed. I can't believe Ethan did this
She smiles "hi"
I hear the door open and see Olivia, Devion and Kevin walk in. I hug them and look at them all. "How has she been?"
"A few hallucinations here and there but those have stopped" "is that a good thing?" I ask. She shakes her head no
I feel my phone buzz and I look. "I'll be right back"
I walk out of the house and answer the phone. "I've been texting and calling you. Where are you? I need your help"
"Isn't it ironic how when I try to save you, you push me away but when you need my help you expect me to give it to you?"
"Klaus please. Your blood is the only thing that will help her. She is my best friend and I can't let her die. I'm sorry for what I did but I was right, I survived. Just please save her"
There is silence for awhile
"As sad as that was...you're apology is not accepted. And your request is denied" the phone call ends
Brie's POV
Kevin holds my hand and I see Isabella walk into the room again
"How did it go?" Olivia asks. Isabella shakes her head and I see a tear fall down Olivia's face
"Olivia" I say. "Can I talk to you alone?"
Isabella, Devion and Kevin walk out of the room
"I wasn't gonna do this because of how cheesy this is but I need to. I know how you feel about all of us Olivia. I know you feel weighed down. You've gotta promise me that you will live your life from now on. That you won't bend over backwards for anyone anymore"
Her eyes start to feel with tears. "I will" she hugs me. "Love you" she says and walks out
I see Isabella and Kevin sneak walk in after a couple seconds
"You brought Olivia into tears? Any chance you'll do the same for us?" She laughs and walks towards me. "Bella when I first met you I didn't know what I was getting into. I thought I was just helping the new girl out but boy was I wrong" I laugh
"I want you to know that you are strong, with or without magic. And as much as I disliked the idea of Ethan. I want you guys to be happy"
She leans down and hugs me. "Ugh and you" I turn to Kevin. "You are the sweetest guy ever. I love you so much and I loved watching you be you unapologeticly" I saw a tear come down his face to I decided to keep it short. "Promise me you won't forget me"
"God Brie I would never" he hugs me as well
I hear the door open and I see them turn around
They look at each other and walk out. I see a figure take their place
He walks in with a smile. "Ethan?"
His smiles fades and his eyebrows frown
"I'm kidding" I laugh. "Dylan right?"
He lightly taps my shoulder. "It was funnier the first time"
"So you're giving goodbye speeches?" "As corny as it sounds yes"
He climbs in the bed and lays next to me. "Why is it that I've been near death twice with you now?"
"At least you survived the first time" "hey I was ready then and I'm ready now"
"Even with the babies being here?" I sigh "it doesn't matter how many times James says he wants me to be apart of it. Those are his and Jenny's babies not mine"
I cough a little bit and he puts his arm around me and rubs my shoulder with his thumb
"I never told you how guilty I felt" he says
"About what?" "About you turning. You were ready to die and I forced you to turn because I was too selfish to let you go"
"You weren't selfish. You cared about someone you loved. If the roles were switched I would do the same for you in a heartbeat. You're special Grayson. Hold on to that"
I felt his wet tear drop fall on my forehead
I look up and he lifts up my chin and connects his lips mine
We part. "What was that for?" I ask. "Just taking something off my bucket list before it's too late" "what a coincidence, that was on my bucket list too"
Isabella's POV
I sit with Olivia, Devion and Kevin when I hear the doorbell ring
I walk up to open it and I see Hope standing in the doorway
"Hope. What are you doing here?" I ask her. "I heard what you needed from my dad and I heard what he said to you" she pulls out a glass bottle filled with a red thick liquid
I take the bottle. "Is this?" "Yep. A little sleep dust and he was out like a light"
I hug her tight. "Thank you" I let out a deep breath. She pulled away. "Sisters stick together"
I run to Grayson's room and see Brie and Grayson
Grayson jumps up and I run to Brie
"Brie. We got it" I open the bottle and pour blood in her mouth. Within seconds the bite on her neck vanishes and she already starts to look better
After I saw Brie completely heal I went out to rethink everything
I went to the school, the high school to be specific
I wanted to remember simpler times
The halls were quiet and muted as I walked around
I turn the corner to enter the next hall when a big body bumps into me
I look up and it's him
"Hi" I say softly. "Hi" he says back. I haven't seen or spoken to him since that night
"W- what are you doing here?" I ask. "Remembering simpler times" I chuckle. "How about you?" He asked "Same thing"
He doesn't say anything and so do I. It becomes silent
"I survived" I say to the break the silence. "I see that" he says
"I hear you're human now. How does it feel?" "It feels like...I'm just normal"
"E listen" I began to speak but her stopped me. "Bella I really don't wanna y'all about it"
It becomes awkward again and I began to turn around "Well then. I'm just gonna go" right as I'm walking away I hear him say my name "Isabella"
I turn to him "Yes"
"Would you mind if I...took the necklace back?"
I felt my entire heart shatter. He gave me this and now he wants it back?
"Um" I felt my voice crack "yeah. Sure" I quickly I take it off my neck and place it in his hand. "Thanks" he walks off leaving me in the hallway
I just stood there shocked. I didn't know what to think. Did he just break up with me?
I decided to go home and get some well deserved sleep. The next midnight I went over to see Brie
I smile knowing she's ok
"Brie I've gotta tell you something"
She walks up to me concerned "What is it?"
"I got a job. Im going to be working for this small town magazine for journalism. But it's in Chicago"
"You're leaving?" "Yeah. I am. They asked me about it weeks ago but I never gave them answer. But I called back on the way here and they said the job is still open"
"Are you sure you want to do this?" "Pretty sure. I love journalism and there's not much keeping me here anyway"
She pulls me into a big hug. "I hope you do great" she pulls away. "So do I"
"Tell the guys I love them. And tell Grayson that I'm rooting for you two"
She laughs. "What about Ethan?"
I sigh. "Tell him. I hope he stays happy"
Brie's POV
After talking I noticed something different about Isabella
Her necklace was gone
I find Ethan and hit him in the back of the head. "What the hell did you do?"
He grabs his neck "ow. Why did you do that?"
"What did you do to Isabella?" I see Grayson walk into the room. Ethan looks at me confused. "I didn't do anything"
"Well then why did you take the necklace?" I fold my arms. "It's none of your business Brie"
"Well you better make it my business because since you wanted to be an asshole and take the one thing she had left of you, Isabella is now about to go on a plane to Chicago. Without you"
He got up from his seat "She's what?"
"Listen what ever happened between you two can wait. I'm sick and tired of this so you are going to suck it up and go after her" I grab a piece of paper and a pen "here's the airport name and time of departure"
He quickly takes the paper and runs out the door
Before he leaves he stops. "Thank you. And also...sorry about...you know..." "Ethan just go" I sigh
Grayson and I look at each other and hope that he makes it on time
Isabella's POV
I stand in line and wait to board the plane
The airport was already really packed so I was excited to get out of here and on to the plane
The lady infront of me walks on and I give the man at the stand my ticket
He scans it and I start to walk on
As I'm walking on I feel a tug on my arm that pushes me into the corner
Ethan
"Ethan? What the hell are you doing here?" I could tell he was out of breath
"I can't let you get on that plane" "why not?" "Because I love you and you need to stay here" I see a small crowd start forming
"Ethan you need to calm down you're starting a scene" I try to calm him down
"No I don't care. I want everyone to know that I love you and that if you get on that plane I will lose you forever and I so don't want that. I am a terrible, angry, selfish person but you are the one that always saw through that. You believed in me when no one else did and I want to do that for you. I want to be the one you can trust and love for the rest or your life. You are the most beautiful, badass and coolest girl I've ever met without even having to try. I knew I loved you from the minute I laid eyes on you. You have been dating possibly the most selfish person on this earth Bella. And it's for that reason why I don't want you to be with anybody else"
I see him reach for his back pocket and get on one knee
Holy shit.
"This is totally not how I pictured this" he laughs and looks up at me "you are worth so much more than a shitty airport proposal but concerning the circumstances I need to do this right now"
He opens the box to reveal a diamond ring. I look at the ring a little harder knowing I've seen it somewhere when I finally realized. The center of the ring was my birthstone. The same birthstone that was in the necklace he gave me
"Isabella I want a life with you. I want a family. I realized that I would rather have that then be miserable forever. I want us to live life together and boost about how good are kids are and how much we love each other. And most importantly I want you and only you. Isabella. Will you marry me?"
I just stood there frozen for like 2 seconds. I felt like I couldn't even talk
"Are you sure?" "I'm positive"
I smile "yes"
