We finally get to the family room where Simon is sitting.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" Simon asks me
"Ahhhh, yeah, yeah I'm fine don't worry about me." I tell him
"Well you hit your head hard on the floor. I just wanted to make sure." Simon says
"I think I'm ok at least" (I dont think I'm ok inside my head, my brain doesn't know what to think right now.)
He just stares at me, then he says, "why don't you be a dear and tell me your name?"
"Oh yeah, forgot about that, my names Jodey" I held out my hand for him to shake
"I think you already know who I am" then he shakes my hand, (he has such a firm hand shake! And his eyes! I cant stop looking at them!)
"Ok everyone its time for dinner!" Taylor's mom shouts from the top of the stairs
Then everyone gets up and we all rush upstairs and sit down at the table. By the time i get upstairs there is one spot left...the spot next to Simon!
"Taylor, we have a problem!" I whisper to her
"What is it now?"
"Umm, well the only spot left is next to him!" I say as I point at him
He sees me point at him and smiles
"Suck it up Jodey. You've been waiting your whole life for this!"
"Taylor..." I begin to say but Mrs.L (Taylor's mom) cuts me off
"Jodey? Is there a problem?"
"Uhhhh, nope, no problem here. I'm problem free" I say with a stupid grin on my face
"Ok then, take your seat please"
"Ok" I say with a shake in my voice. Then I take my seat next to Simon. Taylor looks at me and makes a face at me.
"Stop that taylor" Simon says. "you need to learn table manners little miss"
Then I made a face back at taylor from across the table.
"Not you too Jodey" Simon says.
"Oh uh, I'm sorry.......sir?" I say unsure of what to call him
"Why so formal?" Simon asks. "You can just call me Simon you know"
"Uh ok, sorry simon" I still sound unsure.
"That's quite alright darling" Simon says. I feel my face getting hot.
Thank goodness dinner was finally served! We all ate in silence till Taylor asked how long he's staying.
"I'll be staying for 3 weeks"
"Oh brother" I whisper under my breath
"Are you not happy about that dear?"
"Oh, uh, you heard that?"
"Yes I did"
"I'll talk to you after dinner ok, simon"
"Ok, is everything alright?"
"I guess you'll find out" I say with a bit of sass in my voice
After that he didn't say anything. I worried I made him mad for "back talking" to him.
Then finally dinner was over. I was stupid for saying I would talk to him after dinner by myself!
Just then Simon calls me into his room
"Uh oh" I whisper before walking in his room.
