The Night was young and the wild hearts of young souls was beating in a rhythm.
Anabiya and Arhaan were sitting silently, enjoying the calmness and peace they were experiencing after sharing some broken pieces of their hearts and life with each other.
But many things were still waiting to be revealed....
After sometime, Arhaan broke the silence.
"Anabiya?"
"Yes?", she asked still looking at the sky.
"Wanna go grab a bite or something?", he offered and Anabiya looked at him, her eyes twinkling.
Anabiya was hungry. Being a foodie, skipping dinner was actually a bad idea for her and thus she immediately agreed on going with Arhaan to get something to eat.
She took out her phone from her jeans pocket to look at the time which flashed
01:20
Anabiya frowned and looked at Arhaan.
"Don't worry, the shops and market here are open all night.", he assured.
Anabiya smiled at how Arhaan understood what she was trying to say without having to speak for it.
"I'll just get my purse....", Anabiya stood up and Arhaan looked at her, confused.
" Uhm why?", he asked as he stood up too.
"To pay for the food, of course.", Anabiya replied in a duh tone and Arhaan shook his head.
"Who said you're going to pay?", Arhaan asked and this time Anabiya's feminist mode was switched on.
"Why can't I pay, huh? Just because I'm a girl? Arhaan Sir I didn't expect this from you. I mean how can you think a girl cannot pay and-", Anabiya started to rant but was cut off by Arhaan's laughter.
"Calm down, Miss Malik. Calm down. I have no problem if you want to pay for yourself because yes, you're an independent woman but the thing is you and other employees of the company are my responsibility. You all are here for professional work.So all your expenses will be paid by the company. And as you skipped the dinner, think this as your dinner.", Arhaan explained and Anabiya stared at him and then slowly nodded.
"But sir....", she again spoke up to protest but Arhaan shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose and this made Anabiya quiet. She knew arguing with him now would be useless so she just kept her mouth shut and walked with him.
"We're gonna walk?", Anabiya asked regarding how they're going to go to their destination.
''No. Car.", Arhaan replied, typing away on his phone.
"Huh? Oh hotel cab? But we can walk you know.", Anabiya suggested as she knew hotel cab charges were high and she really didn't want anymore high spendings from Arhaan's side.
"Miss Malik.... I have my own car. We're gonna go by it. Also our destination ain't that close.", Arhaan said and this time too Anabiya gave him a confused look.
Arhaan chuckled as he understood what Anabiya was thinking.
"We have a family home here. We come here to spend our vacations. We even have the citizenship. So yeah I can drive here.", Arhaan explained and Anabiya nodded.
"But you make really funny faces, Miss Malik!", Arhaan said and then burst into fits of laughter and Anabiya narrowed her eyes.
"You're so mean, Sir.", she whined and Arhaan held his ears.
"Sorry!", he muttered and Anabiya was first shocked at his action but then grinned.
"Apology Accepted, peasant!", she said in a heavy voice and started walking with her head high and Arhaan laughed.
Arhaan and Anabiya were enjoying the time they were spending together. They found solace in each other and every moment they were spending together was a bliss. They were ecstatic.
Ecstasy.... The feeling of a feeling that you've never felt before.
As they came out near the entrance, Anabiya saw a car and not just a car, it was a beauty. Anabiya obviously couldn't recognise the car model as she wasn't that much into cars and stuff but she surely loved the one in front of her.
As Anabiya awkwardly walked with Arhaan towards the car, Arhaan opened the door for her and Anabiya made a face.
"Why did you make that rotten tomato face?", Arhaan asked as he noticed Anabiya's frown.
"I could've opened the door.", she replied and Arhaan snorted.
"That's called courtesy, madam.", Arhaan smirked.
"I don't know what's the relation between courtesy and car doors.", Anabiya rolled her eyes and Arhaan gestured her to sit and she did.
Anabiya was about to close the door but Arhaan did it before her as he laughed seeing Anabiya's irritated face.
Anabiya chuckled as she saw Arhaan laughing.
The smile that makes her smile.
Arhaan settled inside the car and started driving while Anabiya just looked outside the window, enjoying the view. The huge buildings and amazing infrastructure was actually amusing her and Arhaan smiled seeing Anabiya so engrossed in her site viewing.
Soon they reached and now were stuck on what they should have. Anabiya and Arhaan both decided not to have a full course meal and ditch it with some junk food instead.
"Shawarma?", Arhaan asked and Anabiya's eyes lit up but then they dropped the idea of Shawarma as they had already decided to hog the shawarma with the other team members the next day.
They then thought about pizza but Arhaan then remembered that the best pizza place was closed an hour ago.
Arhaan then looked at Anabiya and she did the same and then Anabiya grinned.
"Well that smile tells me what you're thinking....", Arhaan said and Anabiya nodded like a child.
"Chicken nuggets and fries, right?", Arhaan asked smiling and Anabiya jumped.
"Yesssss!"
Arhaan laughed as they both settled down at the nearby table.
"I knew it. I mean you literally pushed me that day for those nuggets and fries. You crazy food monster!", Arhaan teased and Anabiya smiled as she remembered the scene of that evening and she blushed as the scene where she was so close to Arhaan was replaying in her head.
Arhaan noticed her blushing and smirked and went off to get the food while Anabiya looked around at different people and a totally different surrounding.
The lights on this dark night felt as if someone has placed precious stones on a black, velvet box.
She smiled at the kid who was eating her ice cream and the kid grinned as she stuck her tongue out and Anabiya did that too.
The kid laughed and Anabiya again made a funny face and this time the kid laughed hysterically which made Anabiya happy too.
Little did she know seeing her smile made someone else happy too....
"Oh my Allah!", Anabiya exclaimed loudly as she saw Arhaan approaching with the food.
Arhaan smirked and Anabiya raised her eyebrows.
The guy bought a big bucket of fries. Nuggets were in a comparatively smaller size tub. Arhaan brought two big colas and cheesy dips too. He didn't think ketchup as he knew Anabiya didn't like it as once mentioned by Nabeeha. Nabeeha was shocked and Arhaan remembered Nabeeha shouting loudly
How can a girl not like ketchup?
Arhaan himself wasn't a big fan of ketchup so he just ditched it.
"Your mouth is so wide open right now, these two buckets can fit right into your mouth, Wallah!", Arhaan joked and Anabiya narrowed her eyes.
"Don't you think it's too much for us?", Anabiya said and Arhaan shook his head as he settled in front of her.
"Naah! We'll be fine. It'll be fine. Here.... have it.", Arhaan said as he passed on the food towards Anabiya and Anabiya smiled and took her phone out to take a snap.
"Kids these days....", Arhaan said with a hint of humour in his voice and Anabiya laughed.
"Arey... no. Actually once me and my friends, Ruhina and Sa.... Sanaya saw this Instagram post which had Selena Gomez with a large tub of fries and well we almost went in every shop we knew for a tub of fries as big as shown in that post. But well, in vain. But now as my wish is finally fulfilled, how can I not cherish it?", Anabiya explained as she took a sip of her drink and Arhaan couldn't help but smile at her in awe.
He loved the way how the girl in front of him had these small wishes, like a child and how these little things made her happy. He couldn't help but wonder how someone can hurt a soul like her, a beautiful person like her who holds a smile worth more than anything.
This smile is priceless...
.............................
After they were done, Arhaan and Anabiya strolled around for a bit and were now walking towards the car in silence.
But as soon as they came near the car, both of them looked at each other and then.....
.
.
.
They started to run. Both of them were running and well not so surprisingly, Arhaan won in the mini racing competition for reaching the car first.
Arhaan smirked and opened the door of the car and Anabiya groaned as she tried to catch her breath.
"You have tall legs!", she whined and Arhaan shrugged and stuck his tongue out and Anabiya laughed.
Arhaan kept the windows down of the car as he learnt Anabiya loves drives with windows down.
Tonight he learned many things about her.
And within two minutes of settling in the car, Anabiya dozed off and Arhaan slowly shook his head while a smile was plastered on his face.
Never in his life he felt this content... It was serene.
Soon they reached and Anabiya was continuously yawning while walking inside the hotel.
"Goodnight, Anabiya."
"Nannite, Arhaan. Don't miss the Fajr Salah."
And this is how Anabiya and Arhaan addressed each other just with their names for the first time and it felt good. It somehow felt good.
