p o e m - 0 3 : a n n
i have a friend named ann
she's my best friend, pratically my sister
she keeps me away from everything, mostly danger
anything social, anything that i don't especially appreciate
like wearing what i want, going to parties or even simply going out late
she was brutally honest;
her words feeling like glass against skin
i always made sure to smile,
to cover up the tears that fell down onto that small paper file;
containing every word she had used to described me with
ann was rude, but i couldn't seem to let go of her
i say leather jacket, but she prefered faux fur
i wanted fries;
but she looked me up and down as she snickered "what about your fat thighs?"
there once was a man i had interest in
ann told me that he wouldn't like me;
that this was another battle i wouldn't win
i looked her in the eye;
and said, it's worth a try
she scoffed and got mad at me
my friend's name is ann, Ann Xiety
note: this was originally inspired by a video on yt named "anxiety", which I have put at the top of the page. also, i made this a pretty long time ago, i was just not impressed by my poem writing lol (still am not)
