Chapter 40
Amy's POV
"Who ordered this much pizza?" Harry laughs as we both enter the kitchen following Eva closely behind.
"Niall" Louis says and an echo of brief sniggers fill the room. Literally everyone was here.
Me, Eva, Louis, Niall, Harry, Zac, Jade, Klaus, Grace, Mia, Becca, Ashton and Juggy. Why are there so many of us in the house? I have no idea. The couples were all sort of stiff off in their pairs like Eva and Niall were stood together near me, Klaus and Jade were sat together around the island and Zac was sat on the counter with Grace stood in between his legs as he hooked his arm round her shoulder.
"There's a lot of us!" Niall says as an excuse trying. It to laugh. Harry goes and sits on the worktop behind Niall and Eva and I was deeply confused on wether or not I stand with him or not. I decided not too, instead standing on the other side of the island directly opposite him leaning on the counter behind me, next to Zac and Grace. My eyes catch Harry's and he gives me a weird look causing me to look away from him immediately.
"Amy nice of you to show up for once, we've not seen you in weeks" Louis says and I laugh lightly.
"Awh have you missed me?" I joke.
"Nah just missed looking at these-" He laughs as he gestures to his own chest pretending to hold up so boobs, gaining a chuckle from most of the room including me.
"Oi..." Klaus shoots him a warning glare as he tries to hide the smile fighting to appear on his lips.
"Sorry bro.." Louis laughs as he flashes me a cheeky wink making me roll my eyes as I snigger.
"Anyway guys we have an announcement to make-" Klaus says as he puts his arm around Jade. I look round the room seeing everyone looking at them except Harry who's looking at me. The look of confusion and worry on some of the guys faces was exactly how I must of looked when I found this out.
"Do you want to..." He murmurs to Jade as he looks down at her causing her to smile. I almost found it cute.
"We're having a baby" she says with a huge smile on her face. My gaze immediately drops from them to the floor as the others react to the news. The room falls silent for a second. I guess in disbelief.
"What?" Louis, Grace and Eva all gape in unison.
"Are you serious?" Niall asks.
"Yes!" They both answer together.
"Oh my god! Congratulations!" Grace squeals as she runs up to hug them both as the others follow sweet. All except Harry and I. I look up and my eyes meet his before I can't take anymore of this. I jump down from the worktop trying to hold back the tears as I make a quick exit from the kitchen. I walk up the stairs and into my bedroom again. I shut the door behind me before leaning back on the door as I try to fight back the tears. I slide down the door sitting on the floor as the first tear rolls down my cheek.
"Amz..." I hear Harry's voice as he knocks on the door within a matter of seconds. He waits patiently for me to open it as I try to conceal my cries by covering my mouth with my hand.
"Hey let me in..." he knocks again as I wipe the teases from my cheeks. I seriously didn't think I had anymore tears left to cry today but I guess not. This whole situation was fucked up. I couldn't deal with it all.
"Come on, I think I've sat out here long enough today" I hear him sigh as it sounds like he puts his head against the door. I pull myself together as much as I can before standing up. I turn to face the door and hesitate to open it. I open the door and my eyes meet Harry's as they fill up with tears once more as I cannot hold them back any longer.
"Heyyyy..." he soothes me as he pulls me into his chest closing the door behind him with his foot. My fists grab at his shirt as I can't help but cry into his chest as he tries to soothe me.
"Shhhh..." He hushes my cries as he rests his chin on my head.
"Harry I can't do this shit any longer-"
"Come on...." he unwraps his arms from around me as he takes my hand leading me to the bed, he sits on the bed lying down and I take it as my key to join him. As he pulls me into his chest I feel his cheek rest on my head as he rubs my arm letting me cry into his chest.
"It's alright to cry, you don't have to put on a brave face all the time. I know you. And I know you are too stubborn to actually let people know how you feel most of the time and this is what can happen" he says and I look up at him with teary eyes.
"You bottle all this shit up when really you just need to tell someone about it all, why don't you just talk to me about it?"
"Easier said then done Harry" I sniffle as I pull myself up off him and move away from him.
"Wait- what I meant was that I'm always here to listen, talk to you and to help you through shitty situations like this. I know that I'm not exactly the best person to give advice but I'm better then you so..." he laughs and I can't help but giggle to as I wipe away my tears.
"How do you manage to make me laugh even in serious situations like this?" I say with a huge smile on my face.
"I'm just so funny obviously" he says as he puts his arms behind his head smiling to himself.
"Obviously" I roll my eyes trying not to laugh.
"Don't say it like that-" he frowns at me.
"Like what?" I say.
"Like I'm not actually funny" he says and I laugh.
"Cause you-"
Knock knock knock
"Amy? Are you in there?" Jade's voice follows her knocks on the door interrupting us. I look at Harry and he nods. I sigh as I answer back to her.
"Yeah"
"Can we talk?" She says through the door and my eyes widen. I mouth no to Harry and he frowns nodding his head.
"You have to talk to her at some point" he says in a whisper and I frown.
"That some point doesn't have to be right now" I yell at him in a whisper causing him to roll his eyes. Before any of us could answer the bedroom door opens and Jade walks into the room as she stands by the doorway.
"Harry?-" she frowns as she sees him. Oh god this must look so much worse than it should. Harry gets up off the bed as he pats me on the knee for encouragement I guess.
"She'll talk, I'll wait downstairs" he tells jade as he walks past her. He looks back at me giving me a look and a brief nod.
"Thank you" Jade says to him and he flashes her a smile.
"Your welcome" he says as he closes the door behind him. The room falls silent around us and I decide to make the first move.
"Congratulations..." I say as I see she doesn't really know what to say to me.
"Amy-"
"No honestly congratulations, I'm happy for you" I say sincerely. No matter how much we fight this is a huge thing for her and she's still my best friend and I need to be there for her.
"Thank you" she smiles briefly at me.
"What did you want to talk about?" I ask causing her to sigh.
"I just wanted to- I guess I just wanted to say I'm sorry for how I've been with you, I was insensitive, harsh and so rude to you and I wish I could take it all back but I can't so I'm apologising because I can't do this without you" She says and I honestly feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
"Jade-"
"No- I need you. I miss us, your like my sister and I can't loose you especially when all this is happening. I know I'm a bit late but I'm trying, I really am trying here and I'm not leaving until we sort something out because we can't go on like this" she says as she comes and sits in front of me taking my hands into hers.
"And- I know no matter what I say or do will never be enough to make up for how I've treated you but I want to show you something- well if you'll let me?" She says and I frown.
"You don't have to-"
"Here" she cuts me off as she pulls out a small piece of card from her pocket before handing it to me. I take it from her skeptically as to me it just looks like a blank piece of card.
"What is this?" I ask and she laughs lightly.
"Turn it over" She says. I turn the card over and I see a picture of her baby scan.
Wow.
It kinda just made it all so real now I had seen the baby. Not that I didn't believe it before hand but she's having a baby and it's right her in front of me.
"Oh- oh god, wow Jade..." I don't even know what to say as I stare at the scan.
"I know it's so surreal" she says as I look up at her with tears in my eyes.
"You must be so excited" I say as I hand it back to her.
"No I want you to have it" she frowns as she pushes it back to me.
"Really?"
"Yeah, besides your gonna be their auntie" she smiles as I see her eyes watering too.
"I can't believe all this is happening" I say as I try not to cry.
"I know it's a lot to take in but I want you to know that I never planned to tell Harry before you, it was Klaus he told him-"
"Harry already told me it's fine i get it" I stop her as squeeze her hand gently in reassurance as I see her beginning to cry.
"I guess it's just a lot to take in really like your with my brother of all people- you can't back out now you do know that right?" I joke causing her to laugh lightly.
"I love him" she says as she wipes away the tears from her face.
"And I love chicken but I'm not having it's baby" I joke causing her to laugh but give me a 'Are you serious' look at the same time.
"Not funny" she says causing me to laugh.
"Anyway- I guess as long as your happy it's all that matters right?" I say and she smiles at me.
"Thank you, for everything, for understanding and actually letting me talk to you about it-"
"It had to happen at some point" I say and she nods.
"God knows how I would of got through the pregnancy without you" she laughs and I snigger.
"To think you could be with my brother for the rest of your life is disgusting, are you sure you want to do this?" I joke and she laughs.
"Yes! Stop!!" She pushes me playfully causing me to laugh.
"I missed you" I tell her and she smiles before jumping on me giving me a cuddle.
"I missed you too, don't ever leave me alone with Klaus again" she jokes and I laugh.
"Your crushing the baby be careful!" I warn her as I push her off me gently.
"Shut up"
"I'm gonna get you some bubble wrap to wear so you don't hurt the baby, I know how clumsy you are and don't even try to deny it" I joke causing her to hit me on the arm.
"Shut up- Are you gonna come down with me?" She asks and I nod.
"Um yeah sure" We get up off the bed and head towards the door. She stood suddenly in her tracks before spinning to look at me with a smirk on her face.
"Actually back up two seconds- Dare I ask why Harry was in here? Or why you two have gotten so close lately? You really didn't think I would notice? Spill..." she says as she folds her arms over she chest.
"It's nothing" I say as I copy her body language folding my arms over my chest.
"Doesn't look like nothing" she says and I roll my eyes as I walk past her opening the door.
"Are you like a thing?" She asks as she catches up to me walking across the hall.
Yes.
"No" I say.
"Friends with benefits?" She asks as we walk down the stairs.
Not necessarily .
"No!" I frown.
"Do you like him?" She asks I roll my eyes.
Yes
"As a friend? Yes. Stop with the questions" I lie.
"You know you can tell me" she presses and I stop on the stairs.
"If there was something to tell I would, but there's not" I tell her before I start walking again.
"I don't believe you but okay..." she says as she catches up to me.
"What? why?" I stop as we reach the bottom of the stairs and turn to face her.
"Because your such a bad liar! And I also see the way he looks at you, I'm not blind he's so into you" she says and I frown. I wanted to tell her everything so bad but I just don't know if she would tell Klaus.
"Doesn't mean the feelings mutual" I say and she laughs as we start walking again.
"Yeah but have you fucking seen him? He's literally like- if someone were to look like sex it would be him like I would let him-"
"Jade!" I cut her off before she can go any further.
"I'm sorry but how could you not?" She laughs as we enter the kitchen.
"Hey where did you guys go?" Eva asks.
"We just had a little talk" Jade says and I flash Eva a smile before I walk away. I walk over to where Harry is sat on the worktop and Jade runs over to Klaus who is on the opposite side of the room. Thankfully. I stand beside Harry and lean on his thigh as he takes a sip from his cup as he looks at me.
"You okay?" He whispers and I nod.
"Mmm... Harry thank you for that, really meant a lot" I tell him as I take hold of his hand by his side and give it a light squeeze before letting go.
"I didn't do anything" he says and I roll my eyes.
"You know what I mean" I say causing him to smile. He puts his cup down and pulls me in between his legs as he leans down. I almost forget where we are for a second and kiss him but I stop us.
"Harry we can't... um-" I whisper to him causing him to stop.
"Oh shit yeah..." he says as he leans away from me. I move away from his legs and sit on the worktop next to him.
"What is it with you and not sitting on actual chairs?" I laugh lightly causing him to laugh.
"Not a fan" he laughs and I smile back at him catching myself just staring at him. Before I could reply Louis stands in front of us with a drink in his hand laughing at something Juggy had said to him.
"Oh Harry, forget to tell you, Evie stopped by yesterday looking for and-"
"I'm not interested" Harry interrupts him quite abruptly. Louis laughs but looks very confused too.
"What? Your not into her anymore?" He asks and Harry shakes his head.
"No I'm good" he says and I feel my chest get a little warmer. Louis looks from me to Harry and gives us an odd look before he nods.
"So you don't mind if I..."
"No go for it" Harry tells him causing him to smile.
"Thanks bro" he says and Louis pays Harry on the back before walking away.
"No more Evie? Hmm is Harry Styles a changed man?" I joke as I smile up at him.
"Shut up" he nudges me with his elbow as a small smirk plays on his lips.
"You know we still need to talk" he reminds me and I sigh.
"I know"
