You healed up nicely and about a week ago you had been taken off bed rest and followed Law everywhere since it was his only real condition for moving around freely, even if it wasn't technically 'freely'. While you were resting a lot of other crew members came by and you slowly grew attached as they did the same. For the past week they have been trying to get Law to let you follow someone else, but you didn't really mind. He was quiet and always seemed to make sure you were comfortable, whether he knew it or not. His office had quickly become your favorite place, it had an assortment of pillows and blankets in a corner, just like the sick bay before, and a nice medium sized fan, since you easily got hot in this form. The two of you would be in there for hours on end and the other crew members would often come and visit but they often got so loud that Law would kick them out despite the protests and complaints about 'hogging' you to himself, you would always chuckle. If only, the handsome surgeon didn't show any signs of sharing your feelings though. That left you to your dreams about him instead. It did get a bit boring though since you could only sleep for so many hours before you couldn't anymore (NEVER!SLEEP IS LIFE! I'm done) so you started to pull down books and read through them. You don't know when but at one point you knew that Law figured out you were actually human so you stopped pretending, though you doubt the rest of the crew caught on.
"Law," You look up to him from one of the medical books as you spoke. Every time you spoke his name you felt yourself heat up a bit.
"Yes?" He however keeps his eyes trained on his notes and the book in front of him.
"Can I go get something to eat?" He looks up now and stares at you for a minute before getting up. "Do you still not trust me on my own?" He freezes for a second before continuing to the door.
"The crew doesn't know your human yet do they?" I shake my head no.
"Probably not." I walk up next to him and he opens the door slyly letting me go first. He was pretty sweet, it was just that he chose not to voice that sweetness.
"You can leave my side when my crew figures it out." He has a ghost of a smirk on his face. He knows they wouldn't figure it out on their own, not without a push.
"Fine, I'll play your game." It was around time for the crew to eat dinner and you had been meaning to ask this question for a while, so why not give a big hint to your humanity while your at it. Subtlety was nice but being blunt was good too.
We walk into the kitchen and the chatter stops for a moment.
"Captain!" They shout happily before the noise doubles.
"Are you eating with us today?"
"It's good that you eat on a regular basis now. You always tell us to but don't take your own advice!"
"Ever since she got out of sickbay she has been getting you to eat more often and go to bed too!"
Whoops, you've been figured out. The crews not as naive as You thought. Oh well, you were going blunt today anyway. You walk up and sit on a chair, neatly licking up the cooled down soup.
"Really?" You turn to Law. The crew was now talking about how you often do such human like things. "They're gonna need a bigger clue than that unfortunately." He's such a liar, he doesn't want them to figure it out. You glare at him when your meal is interrupted by a crew member on duty rushing in.
"Marines have come from in front and behind! We don't have enough time to dive either!" Everyone gets up and prepares for an upcoming battle while you calmly finish your soup. It's not like you could help others get ready in this form and this form was as ready as you could get so surely you had time to finish eating. Nope.
A cannonball shakes the submarine and your soup spills across the table causing a whine to slip from your mouth. You loved that stuff. With a sigh you get up on deck to help, you didn't really like fighting marines because they would always target you. They wouldn't target the crew or Law as much which was good but it was a hassle and annoying as hell. You could only dodge so many bullets while blocking the numerous sword attacks that would come your way. As long as Law and his precious crew were safe you didn't mind though. Law would never say it aloud but he cared deeply for the silly crew.
Once on deck Law glares at you as if to say to go back down but you ignore it and begin clawing down any marine in sight, you would show him you could be useful. Soon enough they're retreating but not before you end up with a few new wounds. Nothing big but the sea stone staff that hit you managed to have you weaker than you normally would. You growl a little at the disappearing ships and Law's continuous glare. Screw it. Screw his little game, you wanted to be blunt today so let's be blunt today.
"It's not nice to glare at people, Law." His name sending the usual warmth through your body. His eyes widen slightly before going back to normal as he walks towards you. The crew on the other hand had their mouths gapped open and wide eyes the whole time.
"Didn't think you'd let it be this easy for them." Law says as he starts to examine my wounds.
"Screw subtlety, this was a game to you. You never wanted them to find out anyway." He chuckles a little as he has his medical bag appear by his side and I sit down and show him the area that hurt the most, your right hind leg.
"I also wanted you to stay inside but you always seem to ignore what I want, to do what you want." You watch as he tries to get to a cut through your fur. The wound hurt but his touch seemed to send sparks through your body, making you feel good inside.
"Secrets out, I can just change into my human form so you don't have to deal with a winter coat to get to my wounds." He looks up at you expectantly and you shift. Your (H/C) hair had grown out more than you had liked since you haven't been in this form for a while. A snow leopard stays warmer than a human on a winter island after all. You're skin was also littered in old scars since you never had them treated properly till you found the Heart Pirates. There was one other thing that stood out as well.
"Ah, I'm naked." You state in monotone. This seemed to snap the crew out of their trance but you didn't get to see their full reaction to your birthday suit.
"Room." You blink a few times at the familiar surroundings of Law's office. He throws his sweater at you and you put it on. It just barely covered everything it needed to, thankfully too because the realization that Law had just seen EVERYTHING was starting to kick in. "I'll get you something better later but for now let me see your wounds again." You nod and continue to let yourself be treated, fighting the blush.
"You're a human!?!" Penguin shouts as you sat down at the same chair as before to enjoy a new bowl of soup, this time in human form and wearing a boiler suit.
"When did you become a human girl!?!" Shachi shouts next after pushing Penguins head down and leaning on him.
"I've always been a human girl. You see, when a boy and a girl love each other very much they decide to-"
"Ahem," I turn to look at Law. "Don't tease my crew."
"Ah!" You hit a fist into your palm. You almost forgot. "I had been meaning to ask, can I join your crew? I've been studying up and am pretty sure I could be a of help during treatments. I'm pretty good in a fight too, I'm a tank after all." You didn't want to be rejected so you find yourself rambling a bit.
The room goes silent in anticipation for Law's answer. The crew seemed to want you to join but you weren't 100% sure.
"No," your heart sinks and the crew starts to object a bit. Guess they did want you there but it doesn't matter since Law didn't want you to. The objections quickly stop when he glares at his crew though. "You can't join because I already decided you were apart of my crew your first week on board." Your body shook with joy as you looked at your captain.
"Why didn't I hear anything about this?" You question him, holding back your overwhelming happiness with a smirk.
"Didn't matter, whether you asked or not you are apart of this crew." He says as he gets up after finishing his food. "We're going back to my office now so get up."
"But the crew knows so I don't have to follow you everywhere now." You state, honestly you wouldn't mind though.
"You cheated so it doesn't count, let's go." You couldn't hold back your smile anymore and happily got up to follow him.
"By the way," he had stopped at the door and turned to you as he opened it to let you go first. "What's your name?"
