She was seated on a bench of a very busy park.

The sound of chirping birds, shouting people, and barking dogs resonating in her ears.

She was surprised there were so many people going on and about, since it was already getting dark. So she closed her book and prepared to get up;

When she lifted her head, she was met with the bluest coloured eyes.

She couldn't help but stare.

They were swirls of sky and ocean with tinges of gold, they were deep and so mesmerising.

She stared some more, her stomach becoming a home for elephants;

Her heart trying to burst out of her chest.

Those eyes were hypnotising.

They seemed to glow with the setting sun. Two sets of the bluest sapphires, staring right back.

Suddenly the strangers lips were moving— they were also magical. Full, pinkish-red, so soft looking and she wanted to— there was also sound coming out of them.

She cleared her throat, her cheeks flushing crimson.

"Ehm, excuse me? Sorry I-I wasn't listening" She stuttered.

The stranger chuckled.

"Your book." He points at her lap. Her eyes follow. "It's my favourite book,"

"Oh, really?" She lifts it in one hand, flipping it around. "Why?" She gives him a slight smile.

"Well..." He started. "Umm, can I?" He walked over to the empty spot on the bench. She nodded her head and he sat down.

"It's a story of good and bad. Of true love and pain. It shows you the world as it is. No sugarcoating, no lies." He starts, his arm movements big and passionate.

"It's so raw and pure and it just makes you feel things you didn't know you could feel. You know?"

She absentmindedly nodded. Her mind going places she didn't know it could go.

"Yeah," she sighed, "I know."

"And what's your name mystery girl?" She looks up from her lap.

"I wouldn't be as mysterious if I told you now, would I?" A corner of her lip tugs up.

He frowns and then chuckles. A deep laugh that reached his eyes—they looked like glowing stars now.

"Well, my name is Joshua. Josh." He extends a hand for her to shake. She grabs it. They stay there, staring into each others eyes, hands clasped for a little longer than a normal friendly handshake. His hand was perfectly molded with hers.

She quickly let go of his hand, staring at anything but his deep pools of blue eyes.

"Nice... Nice to meet you, Joshua." She says, staring at her book, his name feeling new on her tongue.

He was walking around the park, the setting sun making everything turn into molten gold.

He needed some fresh, breathing air, so he decided to take a stroll before going back to his stuffy apartment. He looked around at all the busy people and started whistling and humming a bright tune.

He was almost on the other side of the park so he decided to go back. But before he could change directions, something—more like someone, caught his attention on the corner of his eye.

She was seated on a bench, her head down, immersed in a book. She had long, flowing, curly brown hair, that was now covering half of her face. She was so into the book he didn't want to interrupt, so he stared. She was beautiful. He probably looked like a creep. So he prepared to go say something or leave.

But before he had a chance to do either, the girl closed her book and leaned to get up. When she looked up, their eyes met. She had caramel-coloured eyes. The light bouncing off making them look gold. He was so spellbound he started mumbling incoherent stuff. Thankfully she wasn't listening as she stuttered: "Ehm, excuse me? Sorry I-I wasn't listening" He let out a nervous chuckle. His eyes wandering to the book on her lap and they lit up.

It was his favourite piece of literature ever written. "Your book," he points, "It's my favourite book."

She lifts one arched eyebrow. "Oh, really?" She picks it up, as if it were the first time she's ever seen it. "Why?" She gives him a cute smile.

"Well," he eyes the empty spot next to her. "Umm, can I?" He asks shyly. She nods yes. He walks over and sits down, trying to keep some distance between them. He then starts explaining. He won't stop talking if he doesn't shut up now, so he cuts it short. "—you know?" Her minds seems elsewhere but she nods. He probably bored the shit of her.

But she surprises him by saying: "Yeah, I know."

He wants to get to know her. He wants to know her name, and her dreams and her passions.

But he only asks for her name. For now.

But he doesn't get it. Which makes him disappointed. But still, her answer and confidence makes him chuckle. He was happy around this mystery girl. He literally just met her.

He decides to give her his name. "Well, my name is Joshua. Josh." No one really calls him Joshua, way too long.

He extends a hand towards her, hoping that she gets that it's for her to shake. Of course she does. Her hand is tiny in his, they fit perfectly. They stare into eachothers eyes. Her caramel eyes are now a shade darker. He notices they have specks of forest-green. They're the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen. And they belong to the most beautiful girl. He keeps his intense stare.

His gaze shift to her lips for a brief second. Before she lets go of his hand.

She avoids his stare.

"Nice... Nice to meet you, Joshua." She says, looking down at her paperback, a light blush adorning her adorable cheeks.

"Nice to meet you too, mystery girl." He says, giving her his most genuine smile.

"The name's Savannah. Sav. And I've got to go." She gets up, book in hand and leaves.

He watches her as she walks away, hair flowing behind her. He is in shock and his brain takes time to process it all. Sav! She just left! How is he gonna find her now?! He had a Goddess sitting in front of him and now she's gone. He quickly gets up, fumbling with his footing. And starts running after her. "Savannah!" He yells, getting a few weird stares from people. He keeps running. But it's too late. He lost her. He didn't have her number, or address or even a last name. His shoulders slouched as he made his way back home.

She got up, letting out a sigh and walked away.

She couldn't do this. She couldn't do this to either Josh or him. So she walked away.

She felt the wind blowing through her hair as she picked up her pace, looking back only once. Absentmindedly bumping into people. She didn't care, she kept going until she reached her apartment. Her best friend will cook a delicious dinner and everything will be fine. She will forget about the cute stranger she met on a park bench.

"Penny open up!" Sav yells knocking frantically on the door. Guess who forgot her keys? Again. There's mumbling coming from the other side, along with a bang and some shuffling before the lock starts moving and Sav is face to face with a panting, disheveled Penelope.

"Hey," Penny sighs, giving Sav a short wave.

"Sorry, I forgot my keys again. What's up?" Sav asks, looking Penny up and down with a frown on her face.

"Uh- nothing...?" Penny blushes.

"Penelope!" Sav scolds. She pushes the door open-- since Penny was only poking her head out-- and walks in. "Who is he?" Sav demands, walking into the living room.

"Who's who?" A person pops out of the kitchen. Shirtless.

Penny clears her throat. "Sav this is Noah, he's my... umm my dude."

Sav looks at her with disbelief. "Nice to meet you, uh, Noah. Now would you excuse me? I'd like to have a few words with my best friend" She grabs Penny by the arm and pulls her into the little studio next to the living room.

"So?!" Sav whisper-shouts. "When were you gonna tell me about your... dude?" Sav crosses her arms.

"Well I didn't want to tell you anything before it got serious and now I think it is and I really like him Sav he's so sweet and nice and oh my god maybe I even love him Sav maybe it's too early to tell but--" She says it all in one breath. But Sav cuts her short.

"Stop rambling." She chuckles. "Fine I can see you really like him, just don't get hurt ok? Be careful."

"I will." Penny smiles, opening her arms. Sav walks into her embrace, and they hug for a while.

"Penny, I need to tell you something." Sav pulls away.

"Yes?" But before Sav could talk, Noah walks in.

"You girls alright?" He has a shirt on now.

"Yeah Noah, everything's fine. We'll be out in a second. K babe?"

"Ok. Umm, if you want I can leave. Just text me when you're done." Noah shrugs.

"No no! You can stay for dinner. If you want...?" Sav pipes in.

Penelope lifts an eyebrow at her. "You sure?" She asks.

"Yes! Of course! I wanna get to know my bff's dude," Sav plasters on a smile.

"Yayy! Thanks Sav. I'm gonna go make some pasta." Penny walks out with Noah right behind her.
