Chapter 34
Amy's POV
Well that wasn't the most awkward 50 minutes of my life. Sat in a car with Klaus and Jade whom really were not on good terms with me at the minute. Couldn't really get any worse if you ask me. They literally didn't speak to me the whole way there. God I don't even know what I've done wrong, like fair enough if I had done something but I actually haven't. For once. Klaus pulls up to the house and I immediately jump out slamming the door behind me and walk ahead of them into the house. If that is house the ride on the way here was I am not getting a lift back with them, I'll take the fucking bus.
"Hello?" I step into the house and close the door behind me.
"En la cocina! (In the kitchen!)" I hear my Mom shout though the house. I walk down the long corridor full of family pictures and finally get into the kitchen, seeing my Mom and Rain stood fixing up some food.
"Hola Mama, cómo estás? (Hello Mom, how are you?)" I say as I give her a huge hug.
"Oh Amy! mirarte, te ves hermosa! (Oh Amy! Look at you, you look beautiful!)" I smile as my Mom kisses me on the cheeks and Rain gives me a hug.
"You do look cute, I'm loving the top" Rain says to me and I smile back at her thanking her.
"Oh Dios niña, necesitas comer algo, has perdido tanto peso! No es bueno mi chica (Oh goodness girl, you need to eat something you have lost so much weight! Not good my girl)" My Mom says as she pinches my waist trying to pull at the skin causing me to slap her hands away.
"Mamá, estoy bien parada (Mom, I'm fine stop)" I groan as I move away from her.
"You have lost weight, not that you were fat you just look different-"
"Mom, this is Jade my girlfriend" I hear Klaus say cutting Rain off as we speak. I turn to see Jade walk in with Klaus hand in hand making me roll my eyes.
"Mamá, si me disculpas (Mom, if you'll excuse me)" I say as I go outside through the sliding patio glass doors. I go out into the garden seeing my Dad, Elijah and some girl I have no idea who she is. The garden was very much like the one at the sorority house, with the pool being at the centre and a garden woodland area at the back. There was an area for seating on the decking when my father had the barbecue going.
"Hello, did you miss me?" I joke as I walk up the steps of the decking.
"Oh Amy, it's about time you showed up around here. I've been waiting for someone to come with me to see the new Star Wars film for weeks now!"
"We will go sometime, don't worry- how are you? Was your cruise good?" I ask as I give him a hug as he flips some of the meat on the barbecue.
"Just like every other cruise we've been on, absolute shit" he says and I can't help but laugh.
"But your mother loves them so I can grin and bare it for her" he says making my heart melt.
"So are you gonna say hi to me or am I invisible?" I hear Elijah say as he stands up from the table.
"Sorry! Are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't get back to you the other day I've been so busy-"
"Don't worry about it- uh Amy this is my girlfriend Amelia, Amelia this is my little sister" he says as he gestured to the girl stood beside him.
"Oh hi, it's so nice to meet you! You look amazing" I compliment her as I notice her wearing red doc martins. My type of girl.
"And you! I've heard so much about you" she smiles as she gives me a friendly hug.
"Oh god, whatever he has told you it's not true" I joke as I point to Elijah making him laugh whilst rolling his eyes. I sit at the end of the table opposite where I can see Rain's stuff is.
"Is Klaus here yet?" Elijah asks and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah unfortunately, the car ride here was one of the worst I have ever had in my life! If he sits next to me I will actually drop kick him I swear down, he's so fucking rude" I say as I roll my eyes making them both laugh.
"Has he brought his girlfriend?" My Dad asks and I nod.
"Yeah- great I'm the only single one at this barbecue, what's fucking new" I sigh. I mean was this technically true? I don't know. Me and Harry hadn't discussed the terms and conditions of our... well whatever we have going on yet. But let's just say if he got with someone else I would never speak to him again.
"You'll find someone eventually sis, besides good things come to those who wait" Rain surprises me by turning up behind me and speaking.
"Well I think I've waited too long, kinda bored now" I joke as she sits in the chair in front of me.
"Oh guess who has just showed up!" Rain says excitedly making me frown. I didn't realise anyone else was invited.
"Who?" Me and Elijah both asks at the same time.
"Klaus' friend the really sexy one with the tattoo's and muscles, oh what's his name?" She says making me eyes widen. She's got to be talking about Harry right?
"Harry's here?" I ask and she smiles.
"Harry! That's it! Yeah he's here, he's always invited I think Mom fancies him to be honest" she laughs making me laugh too.
"Harry's here? Oh good! Someone who I can actually talk to about golf and not sit and listen to you girls going on about god knows what shit" My Dad surprises me by saying making me laugh. He's just so straight forward and down to earth it makes my heart melt.
"Look what the cat dragged in... Was just about to say that I missed you bro" Elijah jokes and I frown rolling my eyes.
"Shut up dickhead, guys this is my girlfriend Jade- Jade this is my brother Elijah, my sister Rain, you know Amy and this is-"
"Oh this is my girlfriend Amelia" Elijah informs him and Klaus shakes her hand and kisses her on the cheek.
"Nice to meet you" Jade says to Elijah as she hugs him and then does the same with Amelia and Rain.
"Oh and this is my Dad, Dad this is Jade my girlfriend" Klaus says as he moves over to my father.
"Oh wow aren't you a sight for sore eyes, it's lovely to meet you sweetheart you call me Edward" My father shakes Jades hand and pecks her on the cheek before they both sit down. The table falls awkwardly silent for a minute as we all sit there. Luckily they had chosen to leave two chairs in between me and them and hopefully my Dad will fill these in.
"I'm going to get a drink, Elijah do you want one?" I ask him and he shakes his head.
"Amelia?"
"Uh yes please, can I just have a glass of water please?" She politely asks and I nod smiling back at her.
"Rain?" I ask and she shakes her head.
"Dad, Drink?" I ask.
"Oh yes please, just a beer for me thank you" He says and I smile before walking away from the table, deliberately not asking Klaus or Jade. I make my way inside through the sliding doors seeing Harry stood next to my Mom in the kitchen helping her with what I think is the salad. I stand and watch for a minute as my Mom shows him what to do with the lettuce leaves.
"Here and you just pull it like that- Oh sweetheart, how is your family? I haven't seen your Mother and so long is she still in England?" I hear my mother ask him.
"Oh yeah I'm going to see her soon I think for her birthday, so that will be nice" He says and I smile. I love how Harry is so involved with his family even though he acts big and tough on the outside he's such a softy on the inside.
"Oh how lovely, you'll have to tell her I was asking about her!" My Mom tells him and I see Harry laugh a little before nodding.
"Yeah I will"
"So what do you think about Klaus' new girlfriend?" She asks him and he shrugs.
"She's alright I guess, I mean I only really know her through Amy and Klaus" he tells her and she nods.
"Oh Amy, she has lost some weight that girl, I don't know what is wrong with her. I know she-"
"Harry, I didn't know you were coming?" I cut off the conversation and I see a frown form on Harry's face as my Mother speaks with him about me. They both turn around, clearly hadn't realise I was there.
"Amz- Uh yeah I-"
"I invited him, Harry's always welcome in our house" My Mom cute him off as she punches his cheek making me snigger as Harry pulls a face trying to be polite.
"Thank you Harry for your help, I'm gonna go put these outside" she says as she picks up the plates of food she made and balances them all on her arms.
"Do you want me to help-"
"No no, don't be silly" she says as she walks past us both before leaving us both alone.
"So are we keeping secrets from each other now?" I say as I raise an eyebrow at him, taking two steps towards folding my arms across my chest.
"Wouldn't call it a secret, merely forgot" he says as he pulls my arms away from my chest back to my sides making me roll my eyes.
"Well I'm actually glad you came, so I'm not the only single one sat out there" I say and for a split second his expression alters a little before correcting itself.
"Well I would of offered you a lift here but I thought it might look a bit suspicious" he tells me and I nod.
"Yeah instead I had sit through the car journey in silence with Klaus and Jade" I laugh lightly and he smirks. I notice how good he looks today in jeans and a checked red and black flannel that barely done up showing all his chest tattoo's.
"You do know your shirt has buttons right?" I joke as I run my finger down his bare chest touching his long necklace on the way down.
"Thought I'd give your Mum something to look at" He says with a smirk and a wink causing me to hit him on arm.
"Your disgusting" I laugh lightly, knowing full well my Mom probably does fancy him. I turn to fridge and pull out two bottles of water for me and Amelia and a beer for my dad.
"Do you want one?" I ask him holding up the water in one hand and the beer in the other. He points to the water and I throw it to him before getting another out.
"So are we still on for tonight?" He asks as he takes a sip from the bottle.
"As long as we go straight from here so I don't have to get a ride with them" I say as I put the beer and bottles of water on the side next to him.
"Okay- You look beautiful by the way" he tells me as he reaches it and ticks my hair behind my ears.
"Hmm what do you want?" I raise an eyebrow as I take his hand in mine.
"Nothing, I'm just saying" he smirks as he pulls me into him.
"Very charming" I whisper as I notice somehow our lips are inches apart. His eyes flicker to my lips and back making me smile as lean in.
"Amy! Harry! Come get some food!" I hear my Mom shout for outdoors causing me to laugh lightly. A smirk plays on Harry's lips causing me to press my lips to his briefly before pulling away before it could get anymore heated.
"Come on" I pull away from him, grabbing the bottles and beer from next to him.
"You are gonna be the death of me" he groans as he follows me outside. We walk back to table as my Mom starts putting things out plates that we didn't even know we had. I sit opposite Rain again as Harry introduces himself to Amelia and says hello to my Dad, brother and sister before he takes the seat next to me. Everyone seems to be in conversations in little pairs leaving me to turn to Harry and talk with him. Not that I'm complaining I couldn't think of anything better.
"Guess what?" I turn to him with a small smile on my lips.
"What?" He smiles back.
"I got another tattoo yesterday" I whisper to him and he frowns.
"What? No you didn't"
"Uh yeah I did" I roll my eyes making him forms even more.
"Show me" He says and I laugh lightly.
"Maybe you'll have to find it later" I whisper to him making his eyes widen a little.
"Tempting"
