I looked up to find smoke
Instead of stars.
I looked down to find cars
Instead of trees.
I looked around to find criminals
Instead of truth seekers.
I look upon myself, finding myself to smoke
Instead of laugh.
And then I look all around myself
Towards the jagged ice pavements.
Thinking about what could have been
And realising now what is it.
