grace opened the door to the limousine and slid into the backseat next to taylor, who gave her a sympathetic look.
she ran her fingers through her blonde hair and pulled it away from her face before letting her hands slide to her jeans.
without meaning too, she did a quick glance around the limo.
taylor beside her, noah seated directly next to her. millie and sadie asleep on each other's shoulders. and. . .
she swallowed. finn and kasey.
kasey was curled like a cat next to him, her legs pulled up onto the seat; her familiar converse resting on the cushion.
her hair was pulled into a messy knot, and her eyes were red and bloodshot as her head laid wearily on finn's shoulder.
his arm was hooked around her, and he looked exhausted as well, bags beneath his eyes.
he looked up and made eye contact with grace for a split second before she jerked her head away, staring determinedly out the window, her eyes burning as hot tears pricked the backs of them.
she watched the scenery fly by, and didn't look up again until they had reached the studio.
she was the first one out of the limo, her coffee in her hand, and taylor and noah came and stood next to her.
she hung back as the rest of the group pulled ahead, and only looked back when she heard someone say, "grace?"
it was finn. kasey moved past them, sniffed loudly as if she had been crying, and avoided grace's eyes.
grace waited as he caught up to her. "what the hell do you want?"
he pulled his bottom lip into his mouth. "did you– did you see the pictures?"
"everyone saw the pictures, finn," she snapped. "but thanks for rubbing my face even more into it."
"no, g, please! that's not what i–" he grabbed her wrist, and she yanked it away from him.
"don't call me g, like we're friends or some shit!" she said, her voice razor sharp. "we're not friends, wolfhard. we're cast members. we work together. that's it."
she was taken aback as finn's face crumpled for a split second, and he looked as if he were about to cry.
the next second, he had hardened his jaw and was narrowing his eyes at her. "fine, vilmore, if that's what you want."
before she could reply, he had stormed past her and caught up to kasey, leaving grace standing alone.
she squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself not to cry.
this was so fucked up.
