Psalm 77:11-12
I will remember your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders you did in the past. I will think about all that you have done; I will meditate on all your mighty acts.
If we focus on the past in a healthy way, we fail to remember the goodness of God, and in turn, lose our ability to discern His presence in the present. That's why its vital that we recognise the importance of remembering and celebrating what God has done in our lives - to keep what He's done "constantly in our thoughts". This isn't for the sake of mere sentimentality, as if make us feel good for only a short while. No, it transform our perspective by helping us to realise who God is: " The God of great wonders".
