Ever since Michael Clifford was born, he saw faint little numbers above everyone's heads.
Of course, it didn't take long for him to realize he was the only person who saw such things.
However, it took years for him to understand what the numbers meant, and why they would go down every day. When someone would reach zero, they would die; whether it was at that second or at any point in less than 24 hours. And Michael always saw it coming.
The numbers were never wrong.
Until, one day, he stumbled upon the new kid at school; Luke Hemmings.
Every day, every fucking day, Luke was at zero. Why? Michael didn't know for the life of him, but he was determined to figure it out.
He just didn't think he'd get so invested.
