There comes a day when you realise turning the page is the best feeling in the world - because you realise there's so much more to the book than the page you were stuck on. That time when Deepika's father met her after a long time, her father already ends his marriage as her father realised that sometimes things that you think is the best for you actually turns out to be the worst for you. Three years passes and now Deepika happily lived her new life with her father. They settled down in Dublin and start a new life at the cosmopolitan city. Deepika was walking down the stairs when she see her father was busy with the food. Everything looks very delicious and smells good.
"Wow, Pa. Twice-baked potato casserole, crock-pot beef stew, and pudding ...is there anyone special going to come for the dinner ?" asks Deepika.
"Yup."
"Who is it ?"
"You will know, dear."
"You girlfriend ?"
"No, not again. I will never ever try to remarried again."
"Then ? Who's coming for the dinner, Pa ?"
"What time is it now ?"
"It's eight o'clock." answers Deepika while looking at the time.
"Hah ! You're speaking like an Irish people, dear." teases Deepika's father before both of they hear someone press their house's door bell.
"Coming .." says Deepika's father before he walk away from Deepika and opens the door.
Deepika taste a bit of the pudding before she walks towards her father to find out who's actually coming to their house for the dinner. It must be someone special because if not, her father will not cooks all those special good foods.
"Who is .." startle Deepika when she see who's comes to the house.
"How are you, dear ?"
"I'm fine, uncle. Thank you for invite me to come here." smiles the guest before looks at Deepika and continues,
"Hi .."
It was an awkward greet from the guest. Deepika didn't expect that this person going shown up in front of her again after what had happened three years ago. She didn't expect that her father going to invite this person for the dinner after she tried so hard to forget that chapter that sometimes makes her eyes turns red with tears because she was hurt with everything that happened.
"Hi ..Shanaya .."
"Deepika .."
Both of them feels awkward because both of them was not ready to meet each other.
"So, we're going to have our dinner or .." says Deepika's father.
"Let's eat ..our dinner." tells Deepika before she quickly make her way to the dinning table.
When three of them having their dinner, Deepika just keep silence as she don't know how to start the conversations with Shanaya. She just eat her dinner without making any eye contact with Shanaya. The dinner was going smoothly thanks to her father who try to lighten up and erase all those awkwardness between three of them. He keeps asking, talking and cracking some old jokes throughout the dinner. After the dinner, three of them walks to the living room. Deepika and Shanaya sit quietly on the couch in the living room.
"I'm going to make a nice peppermint hot chocolate for all of us, okay ?" excuses Deepika's father. Deepika look at her father as she knows that her father are trying to give some spaces for her and Shanaya.
"How are you ?" asks Shanaya to break the silence.
"I'm ..fine. How are you ?"
"I'm fine too."
"Good."
"So, you're still working as photographer ?"
"Yes. You're still .."
"Yup. I'm still busy with business since I've become the HOD for the company .."
"Good."
"Deepika ?"
"Yeah ?"
"Actually ...I've bumped into your father two days ago in a cafe and I was the one who ask him to make me meet you ..so hope you don't mind."
"No, it's okay."
"Deepika .." says Shanaya as she hold Deepika's hands. Her eyes was in tears before she continues,
"I miss my best friend so much .."
Deepika look at Shanaya. She didn't expect that Shanaya will say that after what happened between them.
"I .."
"Look, I don't care whether you want to forgive me or not after everything that happened between us but please, don't just disappear like that ..! I miss my crazy and wild Pikachu so much .."
"Don't call me Pikachu, okay .."
"I will call you Pikachu if you still don't want to forgive me."
"I've forgive you long time ago, Shanaya. It just ..I'm the one who should apologised .."
"Why don't we start fresh ?" asks Shanaya. Deepika was still feeling guilty but even she miss her best friend so much. Shanaya stretches her hands and asks,
"Hug ?"
"No. Big hug !" says Deepika before she hugs Shanaya. It's been a long time and everything thats happened really test their friendship.
"And you can come out from the kitchen, Pa. i don't think you need that long time to prepare the hot chocolate .." mocks Deepika as she knows that her father was hiding in the kitchen so that she and Shanaya can have some spaces to settle down their problems.
Then, they laughs and enjoy the night. Deepika forces Shanaya to stay with her tonight because they have a lot of things to tell and share with each other. Many things have happens and many have changed in their life since the past three years. Without hesitates, Shanaya agrees with Deepika's request and stay for the night. Both of them were having fun chatting with each other, teasing each other and joking around. Shanaya was more loud and hilarious as a person now and Deepika was being a little reserved person now but she still that crazy Deepika. They spent the night inside Deepika's room. They decides to watch their favourite movie together when Shanaya give a small box.
"What is this, babe ?"
"Open it."
Deepika open the box without hesitates and realises that there's a key inside the box. It's a familiar key. It's her old house's key.
"I've sold this house years ago."
"Yes, I know."
"Don't tell me you're the one who bought that house." says Deepika. But then, Shanaya shook her head.
"Then ?"
"It was him. He gave me this duplicate key so that if I ever get the chance to meet you again, I can give this key to you." smiles Shanaya.
"Him ?"
"Yeah, him. He bought that house because he knows that house means a lot to you. You've work hard to buy that house, na ? So .." explains Shanaya.
Deepika confused. She don't really get what Shanaya was trying to tell her. Who did she mean by 'him' ? Only one person that know about how she work hard to buy that house but it can't be him.
"I don't understand what you're trying to tell me, Shanaya."
"You don't understand it or you don't want to understand it ?"
"Shanaya, I .."
"He miss you like crazy, Deepika. He bought the house with the hope that one day you will come and visit the house. He decorate it with all your favourite things. He asked me a lot about you so that he won't make any mistakes. He love you so much, Deepika ..!" convince Shanaya as she hold Deepika's hands.
"I don't .." avoids Deepika before Shanaya interrupts,
"You don't what ? You don't love him ? If you don't love him, then why you're still thinking about him ? Why you're still cry each time you remember him ?" inquires Shanaya.
Deepika look at her and wonder how can she knows about it.
"When I've met your father two days ago, he told me everything. He told me how you're tried you live your life without Ranbir. Deepika, he maybe is the one who taught me to be in love but you are his love. His only love."
"Shanaya, can we not talk about this ?" avoids Deepika while getting off from the bed and walk towards the balcony. She was hiding her tears that starts to stream down her cheeks. Yes, she still love him. She still love Ranbir. No matter how many times she try to run from her feelings, she still can't deny it.
"Why you don't want to talk about it ? Please, Deepika. Stop feeling guilty about everything. Stop hiding or run from everything ? Until when you're going to run from everything ?" asks Shanaya. She knows her best friend really well. She knows that Deepika will hide everything that she thinks will hurt everyone's feelings.
Deepika keep quiet. She don't even have the answers for all Shanaya's questions. She's barely holding herself together but she's not that strong. She cry and hug Shanaya.
"I ...I love him, Shanaya .. I do .." cries Deepika.
"I know. Everyone knows that, Deepika. And trust me, Ranbir love you even more .." says Shanaya as she gently rubs Deepika's back to calm her down before continues,
"Go and meet him, Deepika. He really need you. And I know you need him too. Otherwise, you won't wear that ring on your finger .."
