I'd be sitting in my room crying if Madison didn't come over when Matt told her what happened. Lauren and Bethany text me too but they both had family things so they said they'd meet me later.
I wanted to be alone but Madison thought it be best if I got dressed up super cute and went out to the mall. Unfortunately Madison could make sure that I went to town because she was going bringing me in but then she had to leave because her and Matt have a date.
"Honestly Amelia, just forget about him and shop." Madison says to me as she pulls into a parking space.
"I don't even wanna think about him so I might just do what you say." I tell her honestly.
We talked for another few minutes before she had to go get ready for her date.
I decided to go get ice cream and sit on a bench outside because it was hot outside, which was actually normal for the beginning of October.
While I'm walking to the bench somebody comes up beside me.
I look to see Jake.
"If your here to try and apologise or explain what he done don't even try because I won't listen and you'll make me mad at you." I tell him.
"I'm not gonna even mention his name." Jake says. "I just wanted to make sure your okay."
"More like Bethany's busy and you needed to find something to do."
Jake chuckles. "That and I wanted to make sure your okay."
"Well I'm fine. It's better I know this soon than further down the line."
"Doesn't make it any easier."
I look at Jake and he smiles at me.
"He really really cares about you in a way friends don't."
"You said you wouldn't talk about him."
"Sorry, I'll shut up."
"Thank you." I say, we sit on a bench and I eat my ice cream. "So how's things with Bethany going?"
"Great. I need to come up with some date idea though and I have no clue. I'm useless at being romantic."
"You have money or a cheap one?"
"Money."
"You could go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant."
"Done that before."
"Road trip?"
"More?"
"Book a night in a hotel and go for dinner and get her a spa day there or something. Then you can go to the pool and see her in a swimsuit or bikini. How does that sound?"
"You got me at pool."
I smile and Jake chuckles.
"Any plans for the next few weeks?" Jake asks me.
"I'll probably just eat sleep and party until Halloween." I tell him. "You?"
"Same as you but go on dates too I guess." Jake says. "I know your going to kill me but Niall was drunk and he had no idea what he was doing."
I roll my eyes.
"He really likes you, He regrets it."
"Is that why you, Matt, and Seth got drunk and done it too, because I'm pretty sure none of you did so I don't see how what he done was a mistake or because he was drunk."
"Amelia, he-"
"Stop it Jake. I seriously don't want to hear excuses. Anyway, it's been good but I'm gonna go home."
"You want me to drive you?"
"Only if you promise that your not gonna break your promise about not talking about him."
"I promise."
The drive home was quiet, and when we pulled up outside my house I thanked Jake before getting out.
I went into the house which was empty because my mom was at work.
I decided to watch some Netflix on my television to try distract myself from everything else, but it hardly worked. I ended up just on my phone looking to see what everyone else was doing today.
I was looking through photos of a party for someone's eighteenth when there was a knock on the door.
I get up and walk to the hallway before opening the front door.
When I see who it is I go to close the door but Niall puts his hand on it to stop it.
"Please let me explain." He says.
He looked a mess, his eyes had bags under them and his hair was a mess. He looked as bad as I felt but he still managed to cause butterflies in my stomach after everything he had done.
"What's there to explain? You kissed another girl and we're no longer a thing." I say.
"I made a mistake."
"No Niall, a mistake is like writing the wrong answer in a test. You kissing another girl is not a mistake."
"Five minutes to explain. I'll leave after that just let me in for now."
"Five minuets that's all your getting."
We went into the living room and a waited for him to start talking.
"I got drunk to stop thinking about you. It was stupid and I regret it. The boys didn't want me to drink anymore but I was stupid and went to get more drinks and then a girl came up to me. She was flirting and I was drunk so everything important to me - you went out of my mind. One thing led to another and we kissed but that's all, I realised straight away what I'd done. I regret it so much and I wish I could take it back."
"It doesn't change anything. You got drunk to forget about me and you succeeded. I don't care if it was a mistake or that you were drunk, I trusted you not to cheat on me and not even a week later here we are. It seems like I was right all along, I don't know why I expected you not to cheat on me when you did to Caroline."
"I didn't have feelings for Caroline. I do for you, this is totally different. Please I'm so sorry."
"It doesn't change anything."
"Amelia-"
"I've learned my lesson Niall, I'm not gonna be the one to settle you down. Your obviously not into it just being me and you."
"I want just you. Every bit of you. Just you."
My eyes were tearing up but I didn't want to cry.
"I can't trust you. Every time you tell me it's a night with the boys how do I know your not gonna go kiss another girl."
"It won't happen again."
Niall was getting upset too and it was making this even harder.
"It shouldn't have happened at all." I say starting to get angry.
"I know."
"You know what I don't need to hear anymore excuses. Just leave."
Niall nods his head looking upset. "I understand."
He gets up and I follow him to the front door as he's about to leave he stops. "I know it won't change anything but I really really like you and I hope you forgive me some day."
Monday came by quicker than I'd hoped and I was currently getting ready for school. I decided to look pretty and pretend that I wasn't hurting inside. I'd cried enough and it was now time to get my revenge by pretending I wasn't bothered and moving on.
When I got to school I noticed the whole group were looking at me with sympathy but I ignored them. Niall was sitting in his usual seat but he looked out of it, i was just thankful that he wasn't with some girl.
"You Okay?" Lauren asks me once I sit down.
"Yeah fine." I tell her and smile, she looks at me unconvinced but I don't try to convince her.
Madison walks in a minute later and rushes to the table beside me.
"There's a party Friday night, I think we should go and get drunk enough to forget everything and be free." She says with a grin.
"Sounds good to me." I say with a smile. "I can't wait it'll be so fun."
"I know right two wild and free girls."
"But your not free."
"I am. Matt had to much sympathy for Niall so I said he should join him."
"Madison you can't lose your boyfriend because I did."
"If he does something good enough to show that he was stupid for taking the cheaters side then maybe I'll think about taking him back." She says. "I just don't see why he'd feel bad for Niall if he wouldn't do it himself."
"I'm sorry."
"Me too but at least we can both have fun this Friday."
"We'll obviously be there too but we won't be free." Bethany says.
"But we can still all have fun." Lauren says.
"Let's go shopping after school one of the days." Madison says.
"Can't wait."
I was walking to my first class when Matt came up to me.
"I'm an idiot." He says.
"You think?" I say looking at him. "You didn't even cheat on Madison how the hell did you lose her?"
"We were on the date and she was on about you and Niall and how much of a dick He is so I just said he was drunk and a few other things and she told me that I should join him on being single." He runs his hand through his hair. "If I knew I'd lose her because of it I wouldn't have said anything!"
"You already know she's taking the other girls thing hard don't you think sticking up for a cheater would make her think about you doing it?"
"Obviously I'm thinking about that now. Why can't she just understand that I really like her and only her."
"She's obviously not stupid enough to trust a player straight away. You were supposed to prove to her that you liked only her."
"I'm such an idiot. How Can I like a girl so much and not even manage to go out with her for a full week."
"Your not gonna go get with other girls are you?"
"No! I wouldn't, not after Madison."
"Then if your that serious about her find a way to win her back."
"You think I'll be able to?"
"It might not be easy but I don't think Madisons done with you yet."
Matt smiles and I'm happy that I might be able to get Madison back with Matt because I know that's what she really wants.
Too bad it wasn't that simple for me and Niall.
