Nick's POV:
The next morning, Miley and I had slept in. We were tired from yesterday's activities and Adam wouldn't fall asleep until it was a half hour after his bedtime. Miley and I had to sing to him and then he finally fell asleep.
When we woke up, Adam was still sleeping and so we went downstairs to wait until he does. We put on the TV and we were on the TV again.
"Adam Paul Jonas, who is Miley and Nick's 1-month-old son, had his first laugh yesterday and the proud parents documented it in an Instagram live. Although we missed the actual first laugh, the mom and dad kept up the baby's laughs with jokes. Miley revealed that Adam's first laugh happened when her husband Nick was cooing at their son. They then kept up the antics with asking if Mommy or Daddy was funny and the baby laughed. They tried testing out other methods to see if their baby boy could laugh at other things. The mom and dad bounced the boy, making him laugh. Nick played the old, but still popular, video of his brother Joe dancing to 'Single Ladies' by singer Beyonce in a leotard and heels, which made his mini me of a son laugh and Joe even joined in with a comment, revealing though he thought it was adorable, he still doesn't like the video, and then the live feed attempting to make his nephew laugh. Adam did not laugh when his uncle Joe made a joke from a BuzzFeed article. Nick said that the 1-month-old baby would not understand the joke. We're happy that the baby boy had his first laugh. Miley and Nick noted the fact that their son has had his first laugh before he could speak. Uncle Joe noted that the baby is smart and he could be right about that. Experts say that babies have their first laugh at 3-4 months old or later, so Miley and Nick's son is very lucky and smart. Adam is their only child thus far and plans for another kid is not known, although sources argue otherwise. One source argues that the married couple is taking their time before they want to try to have another one. Another says they are in the process of thinking about it. A third source says that they are not completely sure at the moment, focusing on Adam and maybe going back to work after a long hiatus at the moment. The couple, who are both singers, former actors, and Disney alumni, just celebrated a double anniversary yesterday, having met in 2006 and dated the same day they met and getting married one year ago as of yesterday. The couple was out to dinner yesterday to celebrate the double anniversary when their son had his first laugh."
We heard Adam cry through the baby monitor that we had in our living room. Miley goes into the nursery, feeds him, and comes back downstairs with him.
We talk for a while and decide on having another kid.
Miley's POV:
6 months later leads us into December. These 6 months were successful as we tried to have another kid. I am now two months along with our second child, and Nick and I were happy. I am due in mid July. We even are trying to slowly guide Adam, who's now seven months old, learning how to speak, and can say "Momma" and "Dadda", into learning he's going to have a brother or sister.
Adam has grown quite a bit. His hair has grown more strands and his face and body is starting to look more like Nick's. He may be Nick's mini me in appearance, but he's got my tendency to giggle. Since he had his first laugh at one month, he's been giggling at almost everything. It's kind of annoying, but it's also adorable.
Today is Christmas Eve and we're going to announce my second pregnancy to Nick's family as we celebrate the holidays at my parents-in-law' house. Everyone, except for Sophie who was resting because she is 6 months along with her and Joe's second child, was playing with their own kid(s) and Nick's parents were in their kitchen.
Nick was making our son laugh while playing with him.
Danielle shakes her head at that, like she doesn't believe. "Adorable, but that kid laughs at almost everything."
I tease her, "Jealous?"
Danielle shakes her head no. "No way!" She looks at me. "Speaking of kids, are you guys still trying?"
"Hmm, we'll tell you guys soon. We will wait until we have everyone in the room."
As if on cue, Denise and Kevin Sr. walk in the room. "What?"
Danielle points to me and Nick. "They have some news to tell us. I think it has something to do with having more kids."
Everyone looks at us and Nick and I grin. "Miley's pregnant again. She is due in mid-July."
Adam looks at us, points to me, and goes "Baby." I pick him up and praise him. "Good job, Adam!"
Nick praises him as well by patting his hair.
Danielle looks at us. "I'm guessing you taught him that."
Nick proudly answers her, "Yup. It's more like we guided him to it. He's a smart, clever boy, so all we did was show him pictures of babies and point to Miley's stomach. We even slowly said the word so he would catch on."
I proudly answer, "And he definitely caught on." It was my turn to pat our son's head, so I put my hand on his head and pet the hairs he has.
Denise and everyone else congratulated us on the news of the new baby and teaching him the word. Then Denise announced it was time for dinner. Everyone followed after her and sat down. The Jonases, being Italian, have a 7-fish dinner feast laid out every Christmas Eve. It's when you have seven different fishes laid out. Everyone takes their dinner.
Unfortunately, I'm vegan, which calls for non-animal products, and the pregnancy diet, which calls for meats, diary products, fish, and everything else that's typically healthy, I'm on restricts some of the foods I can and can't have. I groan at this when it came to my turn to pick out my meal. I just chose some veggies and sweet potatoes for my meal, avoiding all the fish.
Nick knows this and pats my back in support. He takes the other dishes that have been passed on to me, chooses his own meal, and then puts some mush food and cuts up some solid food into small pieces for Adam. He begans eating.
I eat my own dinner and when I'm done, I help Adam finish his own. One piece at a time as we started working him onto solid foods slowly within the past couple of months or so. He decides he's done after, like 20 bites. I pick him up and go back to the living room, where I play with him.
Nick finishes his dinner and follows me. Soon everyone else follows suit and I put Adam on my lap.
Danielle looks at me. "No meat this pregnancy?"
"Nope. Fortunately, this baby agrees with my vegan diet, but it also restricts my diet to very limited foods. Luckily, with Adam, he made me crave meats, so it wasn't too restrictive."
She starts looking at me oddly. "I thought you wanted to be vegan."
"Seriously, me too. But it's going back to a full circle," I start singing my old song now, "I've been in a rut, back and forth enough." I stop singing. "And then," I pick up singing again here, "I'm tied to one, so I keep on coming back full circle 'cause I know you'll come around. You'll come around."
"So basically, you're using your old song about your husband to describe if you're going to stay vegan or not?"
"Kind of. That song can probably be used in multiple scenarios. For example, this current situation."
Nick butts in. "It still applies to us."
"Only no bad people are trying to keep us apart this time. We're married."
"True. And you", it was his turn to sing, so that's what he did, "turn right into my arms." He stops there as well. "Maybe you should quit veganism. But it's up to you."
I think about it more. "Alright, I will. No more not eating animal products!!! I love animals, but there's better ways than eating non-animal products! Plus I have to eat for two! I don't think I can do that with the restrictions!"
"That's my girl. You are always so carefree anyways. Remember how Liam and the producers controlled you and you hated it? Even Disney, who turned you into Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana in real life."
"Yes, I remember that. Grr, those Disney days I hate the most after the Bangerz days. I mean, what the heck I was thinking barely wearing anything?!"
"Eh, you're an artist. You were finding out who you are and changing. Artists have to do that sometimes."
"They do. You turned into Mr. Macho Man and then a dad and husband figure."
"I did. And Joe broke out of the JoBro image and changed into more of himself. He's into art and . . .? I don't know how to describe it. But it was for DNCE."
Joe smiles. "I think just into art describes it right."
I smiled. "And the rest of the JoBros turned into Dad and husband figures as well. First Kevin, then Joe, then Nick."
Denise looks at Adam now. "I think Adam fell asleep when his mom and dad sang."
I laugh. "He always does that. It's so adorable. I wonder if this second one is going to be like that."
Nick cuts in, "Oh, I hope so as well. I'll rip out my hair if this baby proves to be a headache."
Danielle goes, "Nah, you're going to be pros. Normally, the second kid is easier because you had experience with the first. But it's still two kids."
Alena goes up to me. "Auntie Smiley, Uncle Nicky, where's your second kid?"
Nick points to my stomach. "It's all in there, Alena. It's growing in there. Just like Valentina growing in your mom's stomach."
Alena shrugs and goes to Danielle.
I turn to Nick. "We better get going. We have a big day tomorrow and Adam is asleep. I think we got a tired boy on our hands."
"Alright. Let's get going, big boy," he says as he picks up Adam and puts him in the car.
I get up from the couch I was on and head out to the car. Nick helped me get in the car and we left.
