It was the day after we went to the resort and Genos and Saitama went to the store to pick up some stuff for dinner. After they left, I went to Saitama's balcony and watered his plants. "Zombieman asked me to meet him in the park, but in which city?" I mumbled to myself.

Then again, does it really matter? When I was done watering the plants, I walked to the park. I kept looking around, making sure not to run into my mother. Because I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, I bumped into someone.

"Be careful there, little girl. You could've gotten yourself hurt."

I looked at the person I bumped into. 'A Class Hero, Amai Mask. Wonder what he's doing here?' I thought. "I'm sorry." I apologized. "That's alright." He smiled. "I guess I should've paid attention to where I was walking." I said, scratching the back of my head sheepishly.

"Hey, what happened to your wrist?" Amai Mask asked. When I scratched the back of my head, my sleeve slipped back and revealed the bruise on my wrist. "It's nothing." I said, quickly as I pulled my sleeve back over my wrist.

"Here, let me see," Amai Mask kneeled down to my height and took my wrist in his hand. "That's a nasty bruise. Have you gotten that checked out?" He asked, examining the bruise. "I... uh..." I struggled to find my words as I looked down at the ground.

'What do I do? What should I say?' I thought, nervously. "I'm on my way to a meeting. If you want I can drop you off at the hospital." Amai Mask offered. "No, that's okay!" I said, taking my wrist out of his hold. "I appreciate the offer, but I really need to be going."

I quickly ran off, but I didn't get far as I bumped into someone else. "There you are, my angel. I've been looking everywhere for you."

My eyes widened and my blood ran cold as I knew exactly whose voice that was. I slowly lifted my head to be faced with my mother. She calmly smiling at me, but her eyes told me I was in so much trouble.

My heart was pounding against my chest so hard, I was starting to feel dizzy. And the only thing that kept repeating itself in my head was, "I'm dead."

Oh, I'm a total dead man.

"Time to come home, Hitomi." Mom said, wrapping her arms around me in a hug. "No!" I yelled. I instinctively shoved her away and tried to make a run for it, but Mom grabbed my wrist and yanked me back towards her.

"How dare you!" Mom yelled before smacking both of my cheeks. "Trying to run from your mother, Hitomi?! Letting you run off has made you even more of a delinquent than before! I won't make that mistake again!"

She grabbed my hair and began dragging me towards. I hissed in pain as I grabbed onto her wrist with both hands, my eyes closed tightly. "Mom, please stop! It hurts!" I yelled with tears in my eyes.

"Oh, that hurts?! Well, it hurt me when I learned my daughter grew up to be a good-for-nothing delinquent!" Mom yelled back.

I'm screwed! I'm so screwed! Someone... please help me!

Zombieman's POV

I waited for Hitomi at the park, but the later it got, the more convinced I was that she wasn't gonna show. But I didn't want to believe it. "Dammit, Hitomi. Where are you?" I mumbled. I dialed Genos' number and called him.

"Yes?" Genos answered. "Hey, Genos. Is Hitomi with you?" I asked.

"No."

"Strange."

"What is?"

"Well, while we were at the retreat, I asked Hitomi if she could meet me at the park today to help her out of her abusive situation."

"I see..."

"Do you know where she could've gone?"

"No, I don't. Ever since she moved in with Master, she spends all her time inside."

"If she's not there, then where could she be? You don't think she could've went back to Marika, do you?"

"I doubt that since she doesn't want to be abused anymore."

"Then, where...?"

"Zombieman, I don't think it's something to worry about. She probably went to the woods for a walk. In fact, Hitomi mentioned that she was going to meet her friend, Akuma, in the woods. Perhaps she went there."

"Yeah... Maybe. Thanks."

I hung up and went home, assuming Hitomi will meet up with me tomorrow.

The next day, I went back to the park and noticed Genos was waiting for me. "Hey, Genos? What's up?" I asked. "Hitomi didn't come home last night. Did you see her at all yesterday?" He asked.

"No. I went home after you hung up." I answered. "This isn't good. Master went to the woods to see if Hitomi had fallen asleep out there while visiting Akuma. But she wasn't there." Genos explained.

"Let's go talk to Bang. Maybe she went over there to learn self defense." I suggested. We went to Bang's dojo and asked about Hitomi's whereabouts. "Sorry, but I haven't seen Hitomi since the resort." He explained. "Really? Are you sure?" I asked.

"I'm positive. Why do you ask?"

"We can't seem to find her anywhere."

"So, she's missing?"

"Yes."

"You don't think Marika got to her found her and took her back to her house, do you?" Genos asked. Without saying another word, we headed to Hitomi's house.

Genos knocked on the door and Marika answered. "Can I help you?" She asked. "Where's Hitomi?" I demanded, getting straight to the point. "I beg your pardon?" Marika asked. "Don't play dumb. We know you have here." Genos said.

"I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean." Marika replied, innocently. "Uh-huh." I said, sarcastically. Genos walked past her and began searching the place. "Hitomi! Hitomi, where are you?" He called out.

"Get out of my house!" Marika yelled. "Hitomi, say something if you can hear me!" Genos continued. "If you don't get out right now, I will call the police!" Marika warned. "That won't be necessary, ma'am. Genos, let's go." Bang said.

"But she's here! I know she is!" Genos snapped. "Come on, Genos. Let's leave before the cops get here." I said, tugging him towards the exit.

"We're sorry for trespassing, ma'am." Bang apologized. We quickly left the house before Marika could call the police.

Marika's POV

I closed and locked the door, then looked out the window to make sure Genos, Zombieman, and the old man were gone. Once I was sure they were gone, I closed the drape and went to the basement door.

I took out my key and unlocked it before walking down the stairs. My Hitomi was laying on the floor, on her stomach, as her hair was sprawled out around her. Splatters of blood stained the floor from when I beat her.

"Your behavior has gotten you into some major trouble, young lady. And after all the lessons I taught you, you still continue to act this way," I said with a glare.

"But no matter how many times I discipline you, you just keep acting the way you do now. Again. Again. And again. Where did my Hitomi go? Where did my precious angel disappear to? You're not her anymore. You're a demon. You're a demon who's taken over my little girl,"

Hitomi's POV

I coughed a couple times before shakily and weakly getting on my hands and knees. My whole body shook with pain as my hair covered her face. Blood ran down the side of my mouth as I felt myself about to collapse again.

I gasped as my eyes widened in both shock and fear when Mom suddenly lunged at me and started strangling me while sitting on my stomach.

"I don't care what it takes! I will get my Hitomi back! You will give me back my angel! I'll even beat her out of you if I have to! You can't have her! Give me back my Hitomi!" Mom yelled. "Mom... Stop... It's me... Hitomi..." I said in a hoarse whisper.

"You're not my little girl! You're a demon that's taken over her body! I will get her back! No matter what!" Mom yelled with insane eyes.

I gasped for air as I felt myself losing consciousness. Then, everything went black.
