It had been about three weeks since the incident at the photoshoot, and about a week since I been staying with Lani and G. I definitely felt better over here with them and the kids, it gave me some sense of security. Some nights i would, go get Lay or Kai, just to lay with me, which always made me feel better. No one knew about what happened except Lani, and pretty much wanted to keep it that way.
Not that I was a bother being here, but of course G would begin to wonder why I was staying with them, when I had my own apartment, a few blocks away. So we told him that the owners were doing some type of emergency renovations, because of a pipe leak. I didn't really want everyone knowing about the situation, for many reasons, but i definitely didn't want G to know, since i knew he'd be trying to take it into his own hands. At this point I just wanted the whole situation to go away, and I really wanted to act like it never happened, so I just didn't need everyone finding out and dragging it along.
I literally hadn't bee to class in three weeks, although I managed to still get my notes, and complete most of my assignments. I just wasn't in the mood for any face to face interaction with people. I told my professors I was going through some family issues, and they were actually understanding, which made it easier for me to get myself together at home.
I laid in the bed, staring up at the ceiling as I had been for the last hour or two. Which was something I been doing lately, while my mind ran a mile per minute. Even though he was stopped before he could actually rape me, it still bothered me that within in seconds he could've. Having someone, be so close to taking something from you with no consent at all, and there's nothing you can do about it, had to be the scariest shit that ever happen to me.
I had so many questions running through my mind, and most of them were about what happens next. How do I just go back to my regular life? How do i continue to pursue my modeling career without feeling like i have to look over my shoulder? How do i will I ever be comfortable at photoshoots ever again. What's gonna happen if I see James again?
"Ash, i'm coming in boo" Lani said, knocking twice on the door, knocking me from my thoughts. "Hey, I made some lunch.. you wanna eat?" she asked, coming in sitting on the end of the bed.
"No, i'm cool.. thanks though La"
"I have to make you eat again?" she asked. "Come just come get something to drink and a little bit of food, then i'll leave you alone"
"I'm just really not hungry" I said, sitting up.
"Ash" she said, making a straight face.
I sighed, "I'll come down, but just to see Kai" I said, swinging my feet off the bed.
"That's fine" she said, getting up walking towards the door. I followed her down the stairs, and into the kitchen where, Lay, Kai, lil G, Rell and his friend were sitting. I decided to try to act as normal as possible, while around everyone.
"Well look who decided to come out and play" Rell said laughing. "Nah you good though Ash?"
"Yeah i'm good" I said, picking up Kai, who always smiled at me.
"Hey tee tee" Lay and lil G said, hugging the bottom half of me.
"Hey y'all" i said, hugging her back. "I thought y'all were coming back to watch a movie with me"
"I was but Rell and his girlfriend wanted me to watch something with them" Lay said, making me look over at Rell and I guess his girlfriend. I had met her already, but she wasn't introduced to me as his girlfriend so that was new.
"Lay don't lie, you came in there begging to watch the movie with us and I told you no" Rell said, throwing a piece of Ice in her direction. "And he kept squeezing in between us, y'all just annoying"
"It's not your room, so I can watch in there too" she said, sticking her tongue at him. "Uncwle G said, nobody can kick you out of something that ain't theirs" she said, making me and Lani laugh.
"That's right boo" G said, walking into the kitchen tossing his keys on the counter.
"Lay you didn't even watch the movie, you just kept looking at us" Rell said, laughing.
"That's becauwse y'all kept trying to sneak and kiss" she said, shrugging her shoulders. "Right G" she said, and they both stared giggling.
"Aww y'all was in there blocking huh?" G said, laughing, looking through some mail.
"We was not trynna kiss, she swear she know something" Rell said, getting up pushing her and the flipping lil G over his shoulder.
"She know what she saw, don't try to play my baby" Lani said, laughing, handing me a plate of food. "They was kissing G?" she asked, and he started laughing again.
"That's nasty" he said, making a face before laughing again.
"Breah a lil quiet over there too" G said laughing. "Y'all must've been in there kissing, damn you had me fooled, thinking you ain't even like this bum" he said hitting Rell with the mail.
"Aww leave her alone, she turning red" i said, chuckling. I walked over sitting Kai back in her highchair, and then walked over sitting at the table, where Breah was sitting. "Don't pay them any mind" I said. to her.
"They been doing this since I got here" she said, laughing.
"You'll get used to it" I said, eating some of the pasta Lani made. I couldn't lie, even though i wasn't originally hungry, this food being so good, instantly made me remember I hadn't eaten in a while.
"Y'all go shit to do tonight?" G asked.
"I was gonna meet up with Jess, to get a few things but nothing really" Lani said, sitting across from me, with her food. I shook my head no, since i definitely didn't have any plans, and didn't plan on changing that.
"Oh aight, my boy got a show tonight and he want me to come through.. I know y'all probably ain't been out in a min" he said.
"I don't feel like being in nobodies club, plus who's gonna watch the kids?" she asked.
"Well I figured Rell and Breah probably would want to go, so I was gone tell to call the lady that watched them the last time" he said.
"I don't think i'm gonna go, so I can stay here and watch them" i said shrugging.
"Oh no, if i'm going.. You're definitely going sis" Lani said, laughing.
"La" i said, giving her a face, that she ignored. "Who's show is this anyway?"
G smirked, "My boy Aboogie" he said, laughing.
I shook my head, "Oh no.. Im really not going.. Nope"
He busted out laughing, "I knew you was gone say that, but nah he chilling"
"If I show you my Dm's right now, it's not even funny"
"It be the worst seeing a nigga you be iggin, cause now you gotta deal with them in person" Lani said laughing, making G side eye her.
"What niggas you be iggin?"he said, scrunching his eyebrows.
"Gionni, I ignore have to niggas all the time"
"Lemme see" he said walking over to her. "Niggas can't be that bold, i already had to check your lil boo Pnb"
"But aren't Artist and Pnb cool?" I asked.
"Yeah that's how i ran into him" he said. "I went to meet Boogie and he was there... we exchanged a few words.. nothing too crazy"
"Mhm, I can imagine" Lani said.
"He gone be there tonight too, so make sure you get real cute for him" he said sarcastically, leaning against the counter.
"Oh my god, you are so extra" she said, rolling her eyes laughing.
"Yeah, aight ... y'all gone head do whatever it is y'all gotta do, so y'all can be ready by 9"
"Who going to the club at 9" I asked.
"It's not at the club smart ass, its a concert"
"You got a set?" Lani asked.
"Still deciding if I feel it" he said shrugging his shoulders. "This would be my first time back out there since i came home"
"You don't think it's time?" I asked.
"I mean yeah i'm definitely ready to get back on my shit but y'all know we working on a new album so i was tryna wait till thats done to get the ball rolling"
"Oh so like you wanted to use the album as like your 'first day out' type of thing?" Lani asked.
"Yeah you can say that" he said, walking towards the door of his man cave. "But my backwoods and my weed, calling my name soo I'll cholla at y'all" he said laughing before he, went down the stairs.

We had been here for a few hours by now, G and a few others already performed, now it was just Artist and a few others on the stage together, while he performed. Even though he was just in my comments, his girlfriend was here and I just didn't get it. Why she not checking him, cause I know she sees it.
Just like every other rapper, he had a bunch of other people up on the stage with him. He began rapping this song, I never heard of, and then handed the mic off to one of the guy that were on stage with him. I squinted my eyes, seeing he looked super familiar.
I watched him for a few more minutes, finally realizing where i knew him from "Oh my god, Lani that's him" i said into her ear.
"Wait who?" she asked, looking around.
"No him on the stage" i said. "That's the guy that helped me"
"Wait Izzy, are you serious?" She asked.
"You know him?"
"Yeah, he worked with G a few times... he's super cool" she said.
"Can we leave" i said, seeing him get off the stage, after rapping his verse.
"You sure ?" She asked, and I nodded my head. "I'll go tell G, come on"
I followed behind her through the crowd, I just didn't want to come in contact with that man. I definitely appreciate his help, I just would find it awkward and embarrassing to be around him, and for him to ask questions. I just wanted to get out of here before he saw me. Plus it didn't make it any better that he knew G, it wouldn't be too long before G knew why i was really staying with them.
After Lani told G we were leaving, we finally made our way out the building, and stood there waiting for Tony to pull up. It took about 5 minutes before he pulled up, Lani stepped in first and then as i put my foot in, I looked up, unintentionally making eye contact with "him". We stared back at each other for about 10 seconds before i fully got in the car closing the door.
