Isla Richards

"Remind me again why I am doing this?" I asked Kate as the car drove through my old neighborhood.

"Because they are your parents and you need to confront them. Stop letting them get to you." She said as she smoothes her shirt out.

The car stopped and I peaked my head out the window and only saw my mother's car.

"My mum's only here," I whispered before I got out of the car and began making my way to the door. Kate knocked first and before I could turn away my mother stood there.

"Mija?" Mum said and I smiled at her.

"Hi, mum. Is dad here?" I asked and she smiled at me for a moment before shaking her head.

"I kicked him out the day after we saw you." She said and I raised an eyebrow before turning to Kate who nodded at me.

"Can we come in?" Kate asked and my mom nodded.

"Shoes off by the door." We both said and Kate smiled before taking her sneakers off and we walked in.

"Come into the living room. I'll get some tea." She said and Kate smiled before sitting in the armchairs.

Kate turned and smiled when she saw a picture of me as a baby.

"You were an adorable child." She said and I laughed before twisting my ring.

"Yea. I look like my grandmother who died." I said before Mum walked in and set the tea down. She stared at my ring for a moment before smiling.

"Your father was the one who said those things. Ever since I kicked him out he's been staying with Tio Roberto." She said and I sighed before rolling my eyes.

"Tio Roberto needs to mind it," I said and Kate coughed making me sigh.

"Mum the reason I'm here is that I'm tired of fighting. I just want it to stop. I'm getting married." I said and she grinned before wiping her eyes.

"Mija, I will never be a perfect mother. I am sorry for everything I have said and done to your brother and you." Mum said and I smiled before she reached out and grabbed my left hand.

"You will be an amazing wife and one day an amazing mother." She whispered before she reached up and wiped the tears away.

"You are so strong mija. Stronger than I've ever been." Mum whispered before I got up and folded myself into her lap.

"Oh, Isla." She whispered as she rubbed my back.

"I've missed you, mum," I whispered and when I looked up I saw Kate wiping her eyes.

"Isla," Kate said and I sighed before looking at my mother.

"I need your help planning the wedding. I already have Harry's father helping me along with Maddy and Kate, but I would really like if my mother would help me." I said and I watched as my mother grinned.

"Of course I will help you. I always wanted to plan Andrews but they went and eloped." She said and I laughed softly before getting up and sitting beside Kate who patted my hand.

"That's great. I can take to Prince Charles and we can have him set a date where you two can begin planning." Kate said and I raised an eyebrow at her and she smiled.

"Well pick up where Isla left off." She added and my mum smiled.

"Oh yes. Isla's famous wedding planning business. If Harry didn't stop her she would've had it all planned already." Mum said with a smile.

"That is true," I said with a smile and I watched as my mum grinned before she looked towards Kate.

"I remember meeting William once. It's when he came to help Isla move her things out." Mum said and Kate raised an eyebrow at me.

"It was when you two were on a break. William let me stay in his apartment while he was away training." I said and my mum smiled before Kate's phone went off.

"Excuse me." She said as she stood up and walked towards the parlor.

"Do you think you are ready for marriage?" Mum asked and I stared at her for a moment before nodding.

"Ever since I began dating Harry I never imagined being with anyone other than him," I said and mum grinned before Kate walked back in.

"Sorry, that was William. He wanted to know if I would be home for lunch. I told him no." She said before she sat next to myself.

"You girls are like sisters. I always wanted another child. My body didn't agree." Mum said and I smiled before looking at Kate.

"Do not even talk about children. You have been married for almost one year and we are still waiting." I said and Mum began to laugh.

"I always said I wanted to be pregnant together. So I'll wait till you are married." She said and I rolled my eyes before turning to my mother.

"Well we have to get going. I am supposed to be going for my fitting for the underpart of my dress." I said and mum smiled before she stood up.

"May I go with you for the real fitting?" She asked and I stared at her for a moment before smiling.

"Baby steps mum. Baby steps." I said before I slipped on my shoes and turned to her.

"I love you Isla. Be safe." She said before she pulled me into a hug and pressed a kiss to my forehead.

"I will. Bye, mum." I said with a smile before I turned and walked out towards the car and Kate quickly rushed after me.

"Baby steps? She is trying really hard." Kate said as the driver opened the door and we slide in.

"You had an amazing mother. I never did. It is very weird seeing her act like this. Never once has she kicked my father out." I said before I sent an email and looked up at the driver.

"I need you to take me to the next town over. It's very small and the apartment is above a pub." I said to the driver before I leaned back.

"Where are we going?" Kate asked as she looked up from her blackberry.

"To see my father and my uncle Roberto," I said with a frown.

When the car stopped I jumped out of the car before the driver helped me. I looked towards the glass and saw my father walking towards me.

" Cabrón!" (Bastard!) I yelled before I stood in front of me.

"Well isn't it my whore of a daughter. Didn't even ask my permission before getting married." He said and I laughed in his face.

"My fiance asked my nephew, your grandson permission because let us be honest you were never my father. You were just a man who got my mother pregnant." I hissed before I saw people around us.

" Desearía que tu madre nunca te tuviera" (I wish your mother never had you). He said making me laugh.

"I wish you drop dead already but it will never happen. Leave my name, my fiance and his family, my mother, my sister in laws and your grandson name out of your mouth. We want nothing to do with you." I hissed before I turned to Kate.

"This family will be the death of you much like it was the death of her majesty Princess Diana." He said and Catherine and I froze before we both turned around and stared at him. We both saw people recording us.

"Don't you ever speak ill of my mother in law. May God rest her soul and may God have mercy on yours." Kate said before she turned and got in the car.

"Pray to god I never see you again." I said before I turned and made my into the car.

"Back to the palace." Kate said and I frowned before leaning my head against the window.
