Mila's POV:

"Mia I really can't, I have class tomorrow and I have a paper to write " I answer on the phone. Mia was trying to get me to come out with her. " Mila put down your books, I'm coming over and we are going to the club!" She says enthusiastically.
Mia has always been high energy, sometimes I can't keep up which is why I would rather stay home on a Thursday night than go clubbing with her.
I knew I wouldn't be able to get out of this so I push my laptop aside and decided to pick out my dress.
30 min later
A soft knock comes from the door and I let out a "come in" as I already know who it is.
"Hi, so show me !! what do you have plan on wearing?" She asked excited. " this" I say holding up the dress I picked out, a red wet latex look dress with some black pumps. I didn't want to dress up too much but just enough to get into the club, knowing Mia this place was probably fancy and had a dress code.
" what are you wearing " I ask trying to peak behind her to see what she brought. "You know me I just have to go all out" she says bringing the dress forward, it was a black low top mini dress with spaghetti straps and I saw that she had black stiletto heels to match. Her long brown hair was done, sitting prettily over her shoulders in beautiful waves.
She was a sight for sore eyes, just beautiful. I honestly envied her natural beauty sometimes, I wasn't unattractive or anything but I just wish I had some of her features.
After our brief greeting I took off into the bathroom to take a shower and continue to get ready. I curled my hair and combed it out to loosen up some of the curls, I finished up my make up and started dressing.
At this point Mia was adding some finishing touches and was already dressed and once I put my outfit on too we were out the door clutch and purse in hand.
On the way to the club the drive was pretty silent, Mia checked her phone a few times and when I asked what was wrong she shrugged me off and said it was just her mother but I don't know why she chose to lie because she knows I can tell when she's not telling the truth.
At the club
After joining some traffic going into the city we had made it to the club, it felt like forever. If I'm being honest I'm a bit excited, I've never been to this club before so I look forward to it
Mia said and I quote "this is a very high end club but because your girl knows the owner we have a free pass anytime we want" I shouldn't even be surprised, it's Mia!
The bouncer accepted people and denied some access. When it was our turn he looked at me then retracted his hand refusing to take my ID. "Miss Parker" he says nodding to her. "Hi Leo , she's with me" said Mia.
Once we were in I couldn't help but admire the place, it was beautiful. A beautiful marble pattern going across the bar. Mini booths lined in velvet fabric, they looked quite comfortable. There was even two seating area's to the left of us with curtains.
Girls walking around half naked , only interacting with the older men, dancing on them and taking their orders.
The place was packed and there was loud music playing. " come on let's get a drink" Mia yelled over the music.
...
I think we had only been here for about 40 minutes. A few men had come up and tried to get our numbers but we politely rejected them or at least I did. Mia ended up talking to one of them but when he placed his hand on her thigh and she saw the ring she asked him to get away from her.
After downing what seems to be my 6th drink I could feel the alcohol starting to hit me. Mia always said I was a light weight, she was into her 5th shot and 3rd drink. Yet she could walk in a straight line.
I was in my own world admiring the place when Mia let out a panicked "Fuck ", it made me wonder what she was cursing about so I turned to look in the direction that she was staring off at.
Two handsome men walked into the club. One covered from head to -I'm assuming- toe in tattoos. The other had a bunch of tattoos going down his arm. They looked , well intimidating to say the least.
Mia broke the silence by telling me to stand behind her and tugging on my arm. The motion almost made me fall as the room spun for me.
She pulls us to the two men standing in the middle of the club. The tattooed man is the first one to break the ice. " what are you doing here?" He asked sternly. "You know girls night out, we came to have fun" she said nervously.
"Are you going to introduce us Mia" said the one with the arm tattoos. His greenish-blue eyes flipping from her to me. " Mila this is Brett, Brett this is Mila" she said with an annoyed tone. She didn't bother to introduce the other guy though.
Brett smiled at me while looking me up and down. "Nice to meet you Mila" he said moving over to where I was standing. "Can I-" Brett started but got cut off by the other tattooed man.
" you know this isn't a place for your friends Mia we've talked about this" his voice was deep and stern, like he meant business.
I couldn't help but wonder how she knew him and maybe it was the alcohol but I felt bold enough to ask "How do you guys know each other" Mia's head whipped over to me and she sent a glare my way.
she shook her head like she knew something bad was about to come. "none of your business" he replied, next thing I know he's leading Mia away to a booth with the curtain and I'm left alone with the Brett.
" don't worry about Romeo , he isn't actually angry. It's just how he sounds." Brett said.
So his names Romeo then, ok.
" could I get you a drink" Brett then asks. He places his hand on my mid back leading me gently. It felt nice, to be touched I mean.
Lord knows it's been a while...
Brett and I continued to talk for another 15 minutes before Mia and Romeo came back. Romeo urged Brett to leave and he tried to protest but after a displeased look came from Romeo he told me he had to go.
He put down his phone number in my phone and made sure to call himself so he'd get my number too. "I'll call you beautiful" he said before placing a soft kiss on my cheek, I honestly wasn't upset about it because I enjoyed talking to him even if it was for a short time.
When Mia came back to me she seemed off. She said she had something to take care of and said she'd call an Uber for me.
I couldn't help but wonder who they were and why she had to leave so abruptly. I guess I could ask her tomorrow.
On my way out the building Romeo makes his way back in, Mia already left I'm guessing with Brett because I don't see them. I make my way to the far right side of the building to wait for my Uber, while waiting I spot a group of men eyeing me.
You know how they always tell you to trust your instinct well I felt as though I needed to do so and leave the area when one of the men stalked toward me. " where are you going beautiful, you think you're too good for me?" He asked loudly, the word that just gave me butterflies is now the same word making me feel like crawling out of my own skin.
I turned away quickly but didn't get far because of his hold on my arm, but that didn't last long because I got ripped out of his hold by the same man that was so short with me earlier.
" walk away" he said sternly to the man, "or what" he scoffed. Romeo didn't even give him a chance to defend himself. His tall frame towering over the mans, he looked terrified as Romeo was about to throw the first punch. His fist coming in contact with the man's face over and over again, I'm pretty sure I heard his nose crack.
It was becoming unbearable to watch, finally romeo threw the man to the floor and gestured to the other men. " get this piece of shit off my side walk before I kill him."
By now there was a huge crowd around us some filming some just stunned. I was frozen, I didn't even realize I brought my clutch up to my mouth in shock.
" Delete all those videos, unless you want the same treatment" he said before turning to me. " I can take you home, let's go" I was honestly scared and my Uber would be here soon but I decided to just follow his orders before I turned into a pancake face too.
I decided to just let the Uber know through messaging that I got a ride but she could keep the money because I canceled on her.
" put in your address" he said handing me his phone , his hand was all bloody but he just wiped it on his shirt . I hesitate but ended up taking his phone and putting it.
" Orlando universities? you're a student" He asked. " yes , English major" I replied. He nodded and put his seatbelt on before speeding off into the night.
When we make it to the dorms he parks and shuts the car off. " well I'll see you, I guess " I say. He lets out a small scoff and I awkwardly get out the car " Oh and thanks for earlier " I add. " you're welcome"I catch at the last second of closing his car door. And just like that he's gone, the man was strange today the least.
As I'm making my way to my dorm building I can't help but think that I should've stayed in and finished my assignment tonight.

This is a rewritten chapter for MDGL. The entire book is probably going to be rewritten so I hope you can bare with me for the time being.
