It's been a couple months but it still feels like yesterday when they left
I missed them every moment of everyday. Going out seemed pointless and all I wanted to do was stay in bed
It's times like this I wish my mother was still alive
For the first couple days I would try to call and text them but of course they wouldn't answer
I had no idea where they were
After Alex noticed he helped me get my mind off or it. We both like most of the same things and we've really grown a bond to each other
Grayson's POV
"Where to next?" He says
Being on the road had be so freeing for the both of us
We could go wherever we want and stay for however long we want
"Don't know. We should be coming up to Colorado right now" he nods and I put my eyes back on the road
It's weird
He's been calm this entire trip
He hasn't mentioned Isabella once and every time I ask about it, he always changes the subject and if he does, he doesn't say her name
He thinks he's fooling me but he's not. I know when somethings wrong
I've even offered to take him back home but he wouldn't let me
He pulls out a blood bag and starts drinking
He then holds it out, offering, but I refuse
"I'm off the real stuff"
"Suit yourself" he takes another sip
I've gotten better at control but I still don't feel right killing people to get blood or stealing people's blood so until then I'm on a strict animal diet
"She did the same thing" "Who? Isabella?"
He nods "Yeah. And she cracked just like you will"
"I'm not giving up the human blood, I'm just taking a little break from it" "well if you ask me that's stupid. It's a vampires nature to hunt and kill" "good thing I didn't ask you"
"Did we really have to strip your motorcycle to the car? I can feel it weighing us down"
"Did you really think I would leave my baby alone without me? If you did you're crazy"
Jason's POV
I see Alex sitting on the couch
I try to make my way to the kitchen but of course he notices
"Whatca doing pop?"
"None of your business"
"Woah. Why the attitude?" "Don't act dumb. You know what you did"
"But does Isabella?" I break eye contact "that's what I thought"
"If you think you can run over here and ruin our lives you've got another thing coming" "I can't wait to see what you'll do to stop me"
My blood was boiling
I make him fly across the room
I hear the door open and Isabella walks in. It wasn't a pretty picture
Alex was on the floor with a small cut on his forehead
"What happened?" She walks to him. "What did you do?" She turns to me
I open my mouth to speak but Alex interrupts "he flung me. Dad? Why would you do that?" He fakes little tears
I storm out and into my library to breathe
I hear the door open
"Go away"
"What was that about?" She says closing the door behind her. "Nothing. You won't understand" "I can understand anything. What happened?"
I take a breath
"Alex is not what he seems. He's evil. He wants to hurt us"
"Dad if he wanted to hurt us he would have done it already" "that's what he does. He tricks you into earning his trust then takes you out when you least expect it"
"I think you're just paranoid"
I knew she wouldn't understand
Grayson's POV
I lean against the car waiting for him to finish
Her body falls and he wipes his lip
"What happened to the non murderous Ethan?" "He died a couple miles back when he realized how good it felt to be free"
I glare at him "I'm serious. No one you know, nothing to hold you back, you can just be free"
"How about we be free without leading a trail of drained bodies?"
The farther we go the more I lose him
He slowly begins to turn into post Isabella Ethan
Jason's POV
I began to plan
I had to do it when he least expects it
I spent most of the day looking though books about how to gain more power
I can't do this alone
Ethan's POV
After me and gray set up at the motel we decided to get some fresh air and go to a bar
At every town we've been in there's always that one bar that everyone goes to
It always has the same type of people, the alcoholics, high guys, and prostitutes who try to throw themselves at any guy that walks through the door
I stop at the bar while Grayson's goes to the bathroom
I order and wait while listening to the god awful music
"Drinking alone?" I hear
I turn to see her and my blood begins to boil
"Melissa. I wouldn't expect someone with your high maintenance to be at a dump of a bar" "I was exploring"
"What are you doing here?" I ask expecting serious answer "I always like to keep an eye on the people I hate" I fake a smile at her then take a sip of my drink that was placed in front of me
"I actually have a message. From Alex. Regarding you and your brother" "Well you tell him he can send it himself" I finish my drink and get up to walk out of the door
I feel her follow me to our motel
"Cute room" she said "we're renovating"
I lean on the door and watch her walk to the middle of the room and look at me
I was getting even more pissed off by the minute
"Have you talked to her?"
"To who?"
"Ya know. Brunette. Sad. Indecisive"
"Oh her. No"
"Well I was thinking about dropping by her house but decided to spare her a day. Let her breathe"
Was that a threat?
"What did you want with her?"
She turned to me
"She was dumb not to pick you first" she said ignoring me question
"It's her choice"
She walks closer "I mean you are far more superior than Grayson. I tried to give his life the single most ounce of meaning but he's even blowing that. There's a reason I've never done anything to you"
We were face to face by now
Melissa's POV
I looked at his lips then back at him
I see him do the same so I leaned in
He suddenly pushes me against the wall and kisses my neck
Ethan's POV
I slowly raise my hand causally and grab her neck
I push her on the ground so I'm on top of her
"Now that I have your attention" I tighten my grip
"You will never threaten me or the people I love again. Threatening bella, bad move. Do it again and I will rip your heart out personally. So if Alex has a message for me, you tell that son of a bitch to walk his ass to me because I will kill the messenger and do you know why" I move her head to the side "because it sends a message"
I roughly throw her head back on the ground and let go
I walk out of the room leaving her on the floor
I walk back to the bar and see Grayson standing in the corner "thanks for ditching me"
