CHAPTER 12

With each passing day of the week I grew more and more excited about the weekend. Oscar seemed extremely excited every time I video called him too. Finally Friday arrived and I was all packed and ready to go, I just had to wait for school to finish.

I couldn't hide the grin that had been plastered on my face since I had bought the tickets as I sat down for lunch, my trail piled high with food. "Excited about tonight?" Ariel smirked as I started to tuck into my mountain of food. Nodding, my grin grew impossibly bigger.

"What's happening tonight?" Mark asked as he took his seat at our normal lunch table.

"Lily is going to stay with Oscar this weekend." Ariel waggled her eyebrows as she spoke causing me to roll my eyes.

"Oh," Mark said, an unreadable emotion flashing across his face but he covered it up quickly with a smile so I couldn't decipher it. However, Ariel's voice made my eyes leave Mark.

Ariel was frowning as she questioned, "How did you not know? It's all she has been talking about the past week."

"Dunno," Mark mumbled, his eyes focused on the plate in front of him. I sent Ariel a confused look but she just shrugged in response. Deciding to leave Mark be, Ariel and I quickly changed topic.

"Where is Shelly?" I asked, only now noticing that she wasn't present with us. Ariel's lips instantly formed a smirk.

Gesturing to the table behind us she said, "Look." Turning my head in the direction Ariel was pointing, I noticed Shelly was sitting next to Graham both laughing at some joke Graham had clearly just told. Smiling I turned back to Ariel.

"They're so cute," I cooed happily. I was glad Shelly had found someone, she deserved the best.

"I know!" Ariel agreed. "Do you know how their election date went?" Ariel questioned as we both realised it was last night.

"From the looks of things, extremely well," I chuckled. "And you thought watching the elections was a bad first date," I snickered.

"Maybe I should try it out next time," Ariel joked. "It seems to have worked for Shelly," she continued.

"I'm not so sure Freddie would be so into that," I pointed out, which Ariel quickly agreed to. All the while I couldn't help but notice how quiet Mark was being. That boy was having serious mood swings at the moment.

Just as I was about to question him, the bell signalling the end of lunch rang. Grabbing my tray I said my goodbyes to Ariel knowing I would most likely not see her after school as I had to rush home to grab my stuff before heading to the train station.

As I was expecting the last passed painfully slowly. However, finally I was sitting on the train on my way to see Oscar. Excitement bubbled up inside of me the closer I got to my final destination. I was practically bouncing on my seat by the time I arrived, a permanent grin plastered on my face.

Hoping off the train, I started walking up the platform towards the ticket barriers where Oscar would be waiting. As I got closer my eyes landed on him as he stood leaning against the station wall. My heart skipped a beat as I dragged my eyes down his body. He wore tight black jeans and a simple grey t-shirt which had a pocket over his heart, the outfit was finished off with a light jacket, left unzipped.

Skipping towards the barrier, I quickly inserted my ticket before the gates swung open. Grinning goofily I ran towards Oscar who had already started walking towards me. As I reached him, I dropped my bag, and flung my arms around his neck. Burying my head in the crook of his neck, I breathed in deeply, his familiar scent engulfing me. My vision blurred with unshed tears as it hit me just how much I missed him.

Too soon he pulled away but only to rest his forehead against mine. "Don't cry," he chuckled. "Aren't you happy?" He teased because he clearly knew these were tears of happiness. Rolling my eyes, I ignored him as I moved onto my tiptoes so I could press my lips to his. I couldn't stop myself from smiling against his lips as the warm feeling his kisses always caused me spread through my body.

"I missed you," I mumbled against his lips not wanting to create any more space between us.

"I missed you too," he replied not moving an inch away from me either. My heart still hadn't slowed down since I arrived, and I was surprised he couldn't hear it, it was beating so loudly. "We should probably go," he commented but still he refused to me.

"I know," I sighed pecking his lips one more time before falling to the balls of my feet. Lacing our hands together, he picked up my bag before showing me the way out of the station. Oscar bought us both a sandwich on the way back to his halls of residence as neither of us had eaten yet.

By the time we reached the modern building it was dark outside, however, the campus was still bustling with activity as large groups of students milled about, all chatting happily. Still holding my hand, Oscar put down my bag, before entering the code on the small number pad which was located on the wall next to the glass door. When the light flashed green, Oscar picked up my bag again and led me into the well-lit building. I blinked as my eyes readjusted to the intense light.

Pulling me towards the stairs, we climbed them until we reached the third and top floor of the building. Walking out of the stair well, we entered a cream pained hallway with about twelve doors coming off it. Oscar walked halfway down the corridor before stopping and unlocking a door on the right side of the hallway. My grin only grew further as I walked into the new yet familiar room. I recognised almost every part from the numerous video calls.

Oscar placed down my bag as I looked around at all the small details which I couldn't see through a camera. I smiled as I noticed the pin board on the wall in front of his desk. It was littered with photos, some of his new friends from university, some of his old friends from back home, but mostly of the two of us. I beamed as I noticed the strip of photos we had taken in the photo booth the night he left, there were also other ones from when he was just 12 and I was only 11, when we had just started dating and others as we grew up from the first dance we had gone to together to my birthday. My fingers traced the tatted edge of one of my favourite photos of Oscar and I. It was one time when we had gone to Oscar's grandparent's beach house. The two of us were on the beach, neither realising the photo was being take. Oscar had his arms wrapped around my body while mine were tangled in his hoody, my face buried in his chest as he rested his chin on top of it. The wind swirled my hair together as the sun shone in the background. Just looking at it made my heart start to race again.

Turning back I noticed Oscar staring at me. "What?" I asked as I approached him. His hands instinctively moved to my waist while mine wrapped around his neck and played with the back of his hair. I had missed how natural we were together.

"I've just missed you," was all Oscar said before he captured my lips with his. My body instantly melted into his as grip on me tightened. Arching my back, I pushed my chest into his. His lips continued to move against mine, his tongue gently tracing my bottom lip. As my lips parted a low groan escaped his mouth, but was muffled by mine. My head spun as I put everything I had into this kiss. Dizzy, I wrapped my legs around his waist as his hands moved to the bottom of my thighs to support my weight. Grinning against his lips, I tangled my hands in the back of his hair before trailing kisses across his jaw until I reached the sensitive spot beneath his ear. His nails dug into my thighs as I sucked and kissed his skin, loving the taste.

Growling, Oscar threw me down onto hide bed before clambering on top of me. His lips were back on mine in an instant while his hands trailed down my sides before finding the hem of my shirt and slipping under. He started to trace patterns on my bare stomach setting my skin on fire. My hands were still tangled in the back of his hair as I wrapped my legs round his waist again; pulling his impossibly closer so there wasn't an inch of air between us.

"I love you," Oscar mumbled against my skin as his lips trailed kiss along my collar bone.

"I love you too," I responded, grimacing at how breathy my voice sounded. I felt Oscar smirk against my chest, signalling that he had noticed too. However, the smirk soon disappeared as I pulled his lips back to mine, needing him more than I ever thought possible. It scared me how much I wanted this boy. It had only been two weeks but it felt like I had been going through withdrawal and now I wanted, no needed, to make up for it. I wondered how it would feel so go months without being able to do this.

Just as my hands started to slide Oscar's t-shirt over his head, his jacket long since gone, a knock on the door interrupted us. "Are you going to get that?" I whispered as Oscar continued to kiss me. I bit my lip as Oscar shook his head now. Staring down at me lustfully, Oscar took my bottom lip from my teeth and captured it in his own. My hands moved back to his t-shirt, which was currently half way up his body. Tracing my hands along his abs, I gripped the hem and continued to slip it over his head.

Then someone knocked on the door again.

Groaning, Oscar collapsed on top of me causing me to giggle. Pouting Oscar clambered up from his bed, pulling his t-shirt down before walking over the door. As he opened the door I sat up and rearranged my clothing. As soon as the door swung open, Mike and Jasper barged in. Jess and Katie followed the two boys, looking a little unsure of themselves. Oscar opened his mouth to try and say something, but realising it was most likely no use, just closed it again, sighing heavily as he shut the door.

"Sorry to interrupt," Mike smirked as he looked between Oscar and I. Self-consciously I rubbed my lips knowing they were probably red from what Oscar and I had just been doing.

"Don't worry," I smiled. "It's nice to finally meet you," I said as I stood up from the bed and offered him my hand. Mike's smirk grew more pronounced as he ignored my hand and pulled me into a tight hug.

"It's nice to meet you too," he winked. Shaking my head I turned to the others who I quickly greeted.

"So what do you guys want?" Oscar asked bluntly once I had greeted everyone.

"Trying to get rid of us already?" Jasper asked, as he clutched his hand to his heart, feigning hurt.

"Well yeah," Oscar shrugged. "We were kind of in the middle of something." Oscar gestured to his bed causing my face to burn.

"Come guys let's just go," Jess suggested leading to Oscar shooting her a grateful smile. However, both Mike and Jasper seemed content with annoying Oscar. Mike collapsed back onto Oscar's bed, spreading himself out with a smug smile plastered on his lips.

"But I'm so comfortable here."

"Why am I friends with you again?" Oscar questioned, his hands forming fists at his side. I couldn't help but laugh at Oscar's obvious frustration and eagerness for us to be along. Oscar pouted unhappily as he looked at me. I walked over to him, and wrapped my arm around his waist.

Moving onto the balls of my feet I whispered in his ear. "Don't worry, I'll make up for lost time later." I felt Oscar's body tense as I left a lingering kiss on his cheek. All eyes on the room where on us but neither Oscar nor I explained the exchange. Instead Oscar grinned before leaping back onto his bed and making himself comfortable next to Mike.

"What just happened?" Mike asked as his gaze flickered between Oscar and I. I just smirked before sitting down in front of Oscar, leaning my back into his chest. Soon everyone else followed out actions so that we were once again sitting in a little circle. Mike's mouth remained open until he finally realised he wasn't going to get an answer.

"Damn, I want your girlfriend," he commented, for once no trace of a smirk on his lips.

"I'll give you a call if we every break up," I teased with a light laugh.

"So basically don't expect one," Oscar added causing the others to laugh. I too grinned as I leant my head back so my eyes locked with his. I mouthed 'I love you' before pecking his lips gently. When we pulled apart all eyes were on us, causing my cheeks to heat up. Embarrassed, I buried my head into Oscar's chest. Thankfully, Katie started talking taking the attention away from Oscar and eye.

We ended up chatting into the early hours of the morning. All the while, Oscar had his arms wrapped tightly around my waist, his fingers tracing gently patterns across my forearm. Just his touch sent tingles through my body. Although he was distracting, I managed to pay attention enough to realise that Oscar's friends were like the friends I could imagine myself having when I came to uni.

Closing the door after the group left, Oscar spun around to face me, a cheeky grin plastered on his face. "They've finally gone." Soon my grin matched his, and I leapt into his arms crashing my lips onto his. He instantly responded as he walked us back to the bed picking up from where we had left off.

The following morning I woke engulfed in Oscar's body. He was lying on top of me, his head on my back as his body rested between my legs. Our hands were laced together and lying beside my head on the pillow. A grin spread across my lips. The feeling I got from waking up in Oscar's arms was like no other. It was hard to explain really, it made me feel safe yet excited at the same time. It was a mixture of contrasting emotions, but it was perfect. I wanted to feel this way every morning.

"Hi," he mumbled his voice still hoarse from sleep, signifying he too had just woken up. My grin only grew at the sound of his voice.

"Morning," I responded sleepily. He shifted his body slightly so that his head was now buried in the crook of my neck. Gently, he kissed the place where my shoulder arched into my neck. A shiver ran down my spine at the feel of his warm lips against my cool skin.

"I love waking up with you," he whispered, his breath tickling my chin. Turning my head I moved so I could look him in his eyes. His blue orbs shone back at me until they fluttered shut as I pressed my lips to his. I honestly had no clue how I was going to leave him again tomorrow evening. Being with him again was just reminding me how much I missed him, and needed him.

"I love you," I whispered happily. I could spend the whole day in his arms.

"I love you more," Oscar challenged teasingly. Rolling my eyes, I didn't bother arguing with him - we had this dispute one too many times. Shifting again, Oscar looked at the clock which sat on his bedside table. Groaning he flopped down on top of me, causing me to groan at the full force of his weight. "Sorry," Oscar grinned sheepishly as his head popped up again. I just ruffled his hair teasingly in response causing his to pout playfully.

"Anyway, I need to leave for a hockey match in ten minutes," Oscar spoke as he pushed himself up onto his knees so he was now hovering above me. Smirking, I knew exactly what he was thinking. "That's enough time," he winked at me before capturing my lips with his. The kiss was rough as his hands instantly slipped up his t-shirt which I was wearing. His touch sent fire across my skin, causing me to moan into his throat. He smirked against my lips as the sound escaped from me.

When we both pulled back we were panting slightly. My eyes locked with his, and like normal I got lost in his endless blue pools. It was almost like I was in a trance, transfixed. Sighing unhappily, Oscar pulled himself away from me and clambered up off his bed before helping me up. I pouted, although I didn't mind really, I was actually excited to see Oscar play hockey again. Surprisingly I had missed spending hours on the side-lines, wrapped in as many layers as humanly possible, trying to say warm.

Quickly, Oscar threw on his hockey shorts and shirt before pulling a pair of tracksuits on and a hoody over his head. Grabbing a water bottle from his desk, he slipped it into his stick bag, which he then threw onto his back. I couldn't help but grin as I looked at his tousled hair and glistening eyes. Grinning, I smoothed down his hair before he grabbed my hand and led me out the door.

By the time we arrived at the pitch the rest of the team were already running a lap of the pitch. Oscar grimaced slightly before pressing his lips to mine, and then jogging off to meet the rest of his team. He quickly reached them and joined in with the warm up. However, I didn't miss his coach calling out to him, "It's about time Jones!"

I, on the other hand, wandered down the edge of the pitch till I reached the middle so I would have a good view of the match. It surprised me that I was the only supporter here; more people had come to watch Oscar's high school games. But then the other team weren't even here yet so I assumed more would turn up later, closer to the starting time of the match. Leaning against the fence I pulled up the thick coat I was wearing further up my face as the cool winds attacked my skin. Winter was quickly approaching.

A voice distracted me from watch the team warm up. I had already spotted Japer and Mike, and a few other familiar faces. "So you're Lily right?" I turned round to see the coach had approached me. He had a white board in his hand, which had some complicated formations draw onto it.

"Yeah," I smiled, unsure how he knew my name. I guess Mike and Jasper hadn't been exaggerating when they said Oscar talked about me all the time.

"It's nice to finally meet you," he said offering me his hand. "Oscar talks about you a lot. I'm Larry by the way."

"It's nice to meet you too," I replied truthfully. I loved getting to meet everyone in Oscar's life here. It was nice to be a part of his new world.

Larry looked like he was about to say more, but just as he opened his mouth the team jogged up to where the two of us were standing, sticks in hand. Oscar was standing at the front of the group and our eyes instantly locked together.

"Hey Lily," Mike winked causing me to break my stare from Oscar.

Shaking my head I laughed, "Hi Mike."

"Oh so this is the famous Lily?" Another voice joined in the conversation. My cheeks instantly burned red, just how many people knew about me. I looked questioning at Oscar but he just shrugged with a sheepish grin.

"Alright guys, leave the poor girl alone," Larry said but I noticed amusement glinting in his eyes. He then reeled off some drills for the boys to start to finish the warm up. After telling them what to do, he sent another smile in my direction, before walking back down the pitch to where all the kit was piled.

A few more supporters arrived alongside the other team, but it seemed I was the only one for Oscar's team. I soon realised why as large drops of rain started to fall. Shivering I wished I had bought a jacket with a hood or an umbrella. However, before the few drops had the chance to turn into downpour Oscar effortlessly sprinted over to where I was standing. Grabbing his stick bag he pulled out his waterproof jacket before slipping it over the jacket I was already wearing. He pulled the hood up tightly around my head, a goofy grin on his face. "Better?" He asked as he tucked a few loose strands of my hair into the hood.

"Much," I thanked him, my smile matching his. Oscar pecked my lips before running back to his team where he was met by the sounds of whips which he team was making. I couldn't help but laugh.

Not long later the game began and the boys were doing really well. They had yet to score a goal but they had most of the possession, and it was clear they were the stronger team. A grin spread across my lips as Oscar won a tackle, and started dribbling the ball down the pitch. He looked so at ease as he sprinted the length of the pitch, dodging a player as he went, before passing the ball on just as he reached the top of the d. The ball flicked across to the left hand side of the d where one of his team mates was waiting for it. As soon as he received the ball, he pushed it back into the centre of the d where Oscar now was. Without stopping the ball he slapped it into the corner of the goal.

The team cheered happily and surrounded him, slapping him on the back. I too cheered and grinned when his eyes met mine. Beaming, Oscar ran towards me, looking like a puppy he looked so happy. When he reached me, he grabbed me round the waist and spun me around in the air. Squealing I giggled as I supported myself by placing his hands on his shoulders as he continued to move in small circles. The rest of his team was cheering in the background, but all I could focus on was Oscar.

Painfully slowly he put me down on my feet, so my body pressed up against his as he moved me towards the ground. Our eyes never left each other's as he completed the action. Once my feet were back on the ground again he cupped my rain soaked cheek in his hand, and pressed his lips to mine. The kiss was tender as our lips moved slowly together. The rain continued to soak us but we didn't care. My hands tangled in Oscar's drenched hair as he continued to kiss me. It was so perfect I wanted to cry.

Too soon, Oscar pulled away but only to lean his forehead against mine. "Was that a good enough movie like kiss for you?" He whispered, a smile slipping onto his lips. My grin grew impossibly bigger at his words. How had I got so lucky to get someone so sweet? He never failed to surprise me with the little things he did.

"That was perfect," I responded quietly before pressing my lips back to his one last time.
