The first time I ever woke up next to Calum, it was incredible. It was a feeling in the world that nothing could beat… until now. Nothing could compare to the feeling of waking up to Calum, naked. And I mean it in the least sexual sense possible. There was no better feeling than his bare skin on mine. The warmth radiated from his body, to mine, as his muscular arms were slung around my waist. No clothing to interfere, just us.

I carefully removed myself from the bed, making sure not to wake up Calum. I pulled the covers back up over his exposed body and pulled his t-shirt on over my head as I walked out to the kitchen. I started up the coffee pot and peeked in the fridge. The fridge was basically empty; I should’ve expected that. I pulled out a pack of cheddar cheese and two eggs, deciding to make myself some scrambled eggs.

Heating up the pan, I cracked the eggs in and began to stir them. The whistling and gurgling of the coffee pot filled the room. I added a sprinkle of cheese, still stirring the eggs.

“Looks good,” Calum whispered in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.

I giggled, looking back at him, setting the spatula down. “We can share them, if you’d like.”

He kissed my neck once before sitting down at the table, yawning. “Sure, babe.”

I pulled out two mugs and filled them up with coffee, sliding them to Calum along with the milk and sugar. “Can you do my coffee for me please, babe?” I slid the eggs onto a plate and sat across from Calum at the table, putting the plate in between us. I noticed Calum was shirtless, and became a bit distracted. My eyes traveled to his tattoos and traced them slowly.

“Here,” Calum said breaking my gaze.

I took a sip of the coffee he handed me. “Thank you.”

“What do you want to do today?” Calum asked me, taking a bite of the eggs. “We can do whatever you’d like.”

“Well, I’d like to just stay in the house with you all day and do nothing but I don’t think that’s a good idea. I think that we should go see my mom. I’m sure she’d love to meet you now, as my boyfriend.” I took a bite of the eggs.

He nodded in agreement. “Then we’ll go see your mom today. And tonight we’ll go on a date.”

“To where? The grimy cave?” I asked, adding a small laugh to the end of my sentence.

Calum dramatically gasped, pulling the plate close to him. “The cave isn’t grimy! Just for that I’m eating all your eggs.” Calum began shoveling the eggs into his mouth.

“Cal! I made those!” I grumbled. I attempted to pull the plate away but he was too strong.

“Say you’re sorry.” He said, looking at me.

“I’m sorry,” I mumbled, rolling my eyes.

“Kiss.”

I laughed, leaning in and kissing Calum gently.

“God, I love you.” He huffed, smiling. He slid the plate back to me.

“I love you too,” I replied. “But only when you don’t take my food.”

-

“I’m nervous,” Calum whined, leaning his head against the dashboard.

“There’s nothing to be nervous about.” I reassured him with a lie, I was actually nervous myself.

“Yes there is, your mother despises me.”

“She used to despise you. She doesn’t anymore.” I corrected him.

“Oh yeah, because that makes it so much better.” He groaned.

The car came to a red light and I turned to Calum. I put my hand on his cheek, looking at him. “She’s gonna love you. You know why? Because I love you.” I kissed him gently before the light turned green and I continued driving.

“I love you more.” He replied.

-

I opened the front door, walking inside of my home. Calum nervously followed behind me, holding my hand. I thought it was so dumb that he was so nervous but I did understand why he was. My mom was pretty harsh to him. Well. not to his face. But she made it clear that she didn’t like him.

“Mom!” I yelled out into the silence of my home.

“Allison!” She yelled back. The sound came from her room.

“Come here, I have someone that wants to say hi.” I said, looking over at Calum and smiling. “Now when she comes be extra cute with me, she’ll love it and you. I promise.” I laughed, pecking his lips softly.

"Deal.” He smirked, kissing me back lightly.

Suddenly I heard footsteps coming down the hall. “Allison, Calum!” My mom exclaimed.

“Mom, I’d like you to meet my boyfriend Calum Hood.” I smiled, squeezing his hand.

“Nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Johnson.” Calum said.

She nodded back. “Nice to finally meet you as well, Calum.”

The small talk lasted for hours it seemed, when in reality it was just about an hour and a half. Calum and my mom got along really well and I couldn’t be more pleased. Calum used his flirty attitude to his advantage and easily swayed my mom to love him with every kiss he gave me. She was a sucker for seeing me happy.

“I’m sorry for our rough start, Calum.” She said as we said our goodbyes. “But I see how happy you make my daughter and that’s all I care about."

Calum shook his head, smiling. “Don’t be sorry. It’s the past. I love your daughter and that’s the present, that’s happening now.”

I blushed, hiding my face in Calum’s chest. I loved this guy so much.

“Pick you up at 7pm, Allison?” Calum asked.

I pulled my head away from his chest, looking at him. “Yeah, baby. See you then.”

Calum gave me a small peck, smiling into the short kiss. “I love you.”

“I love you more,” I replied almost instantly, giving him another short kiss.

Calum stepped off my porch and I looked at him walking to his car. “Uh, I’ll walk him out.” I said to my mom, following after Calum. I leaped onto his back, surprising him and giggling.

“Allison!” Calum yelled.

“Hi.” I said with a smile, pecking his lips as he turned to face me. “You know I can’t stay away from you. So I had to walk you out.”

“Good.” He replied, grabbing my hand. “Come sit in my car with me.”

I sat in the passenger seat as Calum did in the drivers seat. He put the keys in the ignition just so he could turn the radio on, turning the volume on low. He turned to me, smiling, and reaching his hand to mine, grabbing it.

“I don’t want you to leave yet.” I said, looking at him, pouting my lips.

“Then don’t. Please.” He said.

“So we’re just gonna sit in this car and do what?” I asked.

“I have a few ideas,” Calum murmured as he leaned in, kissing me roughly.

I groaned softly. My hands instantly found themselves laced in his hair, our lips moving in a steady rhythm. I bit Calum’s bottom lip gently and slid my tongue in his mouth, swirling it along with is.

After just about a minute, I pulled away, shaking my head. “No, Cal. C’mon. My mom is right inside.”

“I’m sorry, you’re just so… beautiful.” He whispered, smiling at me.

“Oh hush, save the sweet talk for our date tonight.” I replied as I exited his car, shutting the passenger seat.

“7 o’clock sharp!” He yelled out of the window to me.

“7 o’clock sharp!”

-

“7:04. You’re late,” I joked as I got into the passenger seat once again. The seat still felt warm from when I was in it earlier but I knew it was my imagination. My mind flashed back to what happened earlier in this car and feelings of lust began to grow on me.

“Shut up.” Calum drove down the highway, with the radio on loud and the windows open. We enjoyed the rare, cool, summer breeze on the late summer night.

“Are you taking me to the cave?” I asked openly. I was curious of our destination and I was more curious to know if I dressed appropriately for the occasion.

“Later. We’re going somewhere else first.”

“Calum Hood, so wild and full of surprises.” I leaned my head on my arm, looking out the window.

“You’re sarcasm kills me.” He groaned.

I glanced back at him, laughing softly. “Well your looks kill me so I guess we’re both dead.”

-

“Calum, it’s a four star restaurant and we’re both wearing jeans.” I looked up at the sign of the restaurant as he parked. “Are you crazy?”

“Crazy for you.” He cooed, a smirk appearing on his lips.

I rolled my eyes, shaking my head.

“What?” He pouted. “You said to save the sweet talk for our date.”

“I love you,” I reassured him, planting a soft kiss on his lips before I opened my door, exiting the car.

Calum got out of the car as well, locking it and shoving the keys in his pocket.

“This restaurant isn’t that fancy, babe. And I know the owner. So we’re dressed perfectly fine.” I felt his hand brush against mine just moments before our fingers tangled together. Calum led me inside, past the translucent glass door. The hostess led us up the stairs to the seconds floor of the restaurant. The host held open the glass french doors to a balcony, where there was a small table decorated with candles and flowers. My heart began to flutter and I squeezed Calum’s hand tightly before he pulled it away to pull my chair out for me. I sat down, as did Calum and the hostess handed us our menus and closed the doors.

“Calum,” I said in awe, looking at the view from the balcony. There was a small city view below us that soon expanded into a view of the trees and the beach.

“You deserve it,” he said quieting me. “Anything for you.”

I giggled, hiding my now red face in the menu as I debated on what to order. My eyes scanned across the options and I soon decided to order a pasta dish. I closed my menu and set it down on the table, now looking back at Calum’s loving gaze to me.

“It’s not polite to stare,” I murmured.

He chuckled, lacing his fingers with mine. “It’s not polite to be so beautiful that one cannot help but stare.”

When the hostess came back out she gave us our drinks and we put in our orders. Calum ordered a small steak and I my pasta. We debated on whether or not to get an appetizer but decided against it when we agreed on having some type of dessert.

The dinner was uneventful. Just a night full of chewing, laughing and short “I love yous”. What Calum and I had created was finally a normal. Or felt like it was beginning to grow into a normal. Even after all we’ve been through, and just one short night, being with him like this felt like it was what was meant to be. It was supposed to be like this. It was so easy, I knew this was how it was all meant to play out.

-

“Hurry up!” I urged Calum to drive faster. “Our ice cream is going to melt.” Calum insisted on us taking our dessert to-go and escaping to the cave for the night.

“We’re here, we’re here. Hush.” Calum parked the car and we both got out. Calum slipped inside the cave first. I handed him our treats and then dove in myself.

He lit the candles and spread out the pillows against the back wall, sitting down. I smiled, sitting next to him and handing him his dessert box along with a spoon. We sat in the utter silence for a few minutes, just eating, before we glanced at each other and busted out laughing.

“We’re fat,” Calum announced.

“So fat,” I agreed, still laughing.

The night progressed and I found my head on Calum’s chest, our fingers intertwined and his lips planting soft kisses into my hair. Everything was silent except for the sounds of our breathing and the inconsistent chirping of birds outside the cave.

“Hey,” Calum breathed.

“Hi.” I uttered back a reply.

“Let’s make a deal.”

“Oh god, Calum,” I whined back. “Not this again.”

“No, I’m serious Allison.” He said. His tone was serious as well so I sat up a bit, looking him in the eyes.

“Let’s promise never to fall in love with anyone else. Deal?” He said just above a whisper. His fingers brushed my hair.

“Okay,” I nodded. “Deal."
