my body loves me
in a way that you never will
it always gets up with me
even on the days when
i want to drown in
my bed sheets
it always feeds me
no matter the mood
and when i neglect it,
it clearly feels my absence
and misses my presence,
demanding, weeping my name,
weeping for me
to give it some love,
so at least i know THIS
relationship isn't one sided.
yes, my body may ache often
my body is far from perfect
but my body loves me,
all my cells love me everyday
healing my wounds with
solutions that aren't temporary
my body loves me in a way
that you never will
- and maybe it's time i started loving it back.
