"She was one of my classmates and had been one for the past two years. She was a transfer student from Europe, you see. I wasn't the most popular of students in my class either, but at least I had her."

"You had her? Can you further elaborate on that?"

I sighed.

"She was my friend, actually the only friend in my class at that time. My other friends were either in a grade above or below me. Hoseok was in another class in my year, but he rarely hung out with me," I started. I thought for a moment before I opened my mouth again.

"That was also the case for the others. I doubt they ever even thought about me."

"So you could say that she was your best friend at that time?"

I nodded.

The therapist took her glasses off and placed them on the table beside her. She picked up the notebook and placed it on her lap.

"Please tell me everything from the start."

__________

The bell signalled that the class had been dismissed and that the lunch break had just started. I couldn't care less about the free time we were given while in school, I was just looking forward to going home.

The only thing that kept me coming back to this hell hole, was the thought of being able to see her each day.

Every break she walked her way to my desk, sat down and ate her lunch with me. I never understood why; she had more interesting friends to spend her time on than me.

She would always ask me about how my day went and then she would be telling me to tell her it all again, but with more details. I would roll my eyes at her wish and she would crack that wonderful, full smile of hers, that could make even the gloomiest of days seem the brightest.

I didn't bring lunch with me every day, my family couldn't afford it at the time. Whenever she saw that my lunchbox was empty, she didn't hesitate to break her sandwich in half and give me it. I always refused to eat her food at first, until I realised that I shouldn't take her small offers forgiven.

At one point, it became a common occurrence. My mother 'forgot' to make my lunch or I simply 'forgot' to bring it with me. It happened so often that Susan's mother ended up making an extra portion of her daughter's lunch so that I wouldn't starve.

I would reject her mother's lunch each time, but I couldn't help but feel bad whenever I made her dissatisfied, so I ate it anyway.

Both she and her mother were angels. I was positively sure that they had moved to Korea from heaven and not Norway, where they originally came from.

__________

"How was your weekend?" she asked me, while she opened her lunchbox. There was a 'click' and the smell of ham and bell peppers entered the air. My stomach grumbled but I hid the sound under a fake cough.

"It was alright," I said while I ran a hand through my hair. "I finished watching Friends for the third time."

She took a bite of her sandwich while she looked at me and nodded enthusiastically.

"Wasn't it boring?" she asked, her mouth full of food. I looked at her, being confused at first. She swallowed her bite and continued:

"I mean, you already knew what happened to the characters in the show. You've seen nothing new this time around and the ending is still the same as the first and the second time you watched it through. Wasn't it kind of boring?"

I shook my head and smiled.

"This time around I understood each and every word they said without subtitles being on."

Her eyes got as big as teacups and she almost threw her sandwich out of her hand. She pulled me into a tight hug and congratulated me a thousand times. I couldn't help but laugh, she was simply too sweet.

I pulled out of her grab and scratched the back of my neck.

"It really isn't that much of a big deal..."

"What are you talking about, Kim Namjoon? That is absolutely amazing! That's such a big accomplishment!"

I chuckled.

"If you say so, I guess I better believe it."

"Correct," she said and ate more of her sandwich while my cheeks turned a rosy shade.
