Nelly's POV
I walked away, avoiding them, and went straight to home room. I saw Alex walk with his friends and turn to look at me but i quickly walked away into the empty classroom. I took my seat in the back and lay my head on the table.
"ok you've got to tell me whats going on" i heard Natalie's voice as she entered the room to join me after a few minutes. I sighed heavily
"hey Natalie" i said groggily
"what's wrong with you?" she asked, taking a seat next to me "eversince yesterday when you left, you've been so gloomy"
"i don't want to talk about it" i said and she gasped, her eyes widening "what?" i asked
"you're pregnant aren't you?" she asked
"no" i said. Surprised
"yeah you are stop lying to me Nells" she said
"no i'm not!" i told her
"is it Alex's baby? I heard you two were getting busy in the school hallway yesterday after school" she said
"NO i didn't have sex with him!" i yelled "ugh" i groaned
"then what was Patricia talking abo...?"
"she lied ok!" i snapped "nothing happened"
"doesn't seem like it" she said
"well maybe things aren't what they seem like. They turn out the complete opposite" i said
"o.k?" she was confused but sensed something was wrong. The bell rang and we could hear people groan and start making their ways to homeroom "wanna wag? You don't look too good" she suggested with a concerned look on her face "in the mood you're in, you're probably going to say something mean and get in some deep trouble"
"you always know the best way" i said giving her a weak smile and getting up
"its a gift" she said shrugging and getting up too. She led to the door and we quickly ducked into the ladies room through the thick loud crowd. We climbed through the window and out onto the school roof, which was like a room without a roof. I settled on sitting on the ground and just staring into space to relax. Natalie came and sat next to me.
"so... wanna talk about it?" Natalie asked quietly
"i'm not sure" i said and immediately, tears came into my eyes, blurring my vision. She put her arms around me in comfort
"did he pressure you?" she asked
"no. He didn't do anything ok? It was Ben" i said
"wait, you had sex with Ben?" she asked
"no" i said "he tried to rape me" she gasped
"wait, Patricia said she saw you and Al..."
"yes. She did" i interrupted her
"she said you were on the..."
"uh-huh" i said, nodding "i tackled him to the ground right after..."
"why did you tackle him to the ground?" she interrupted me
"let me tell you what happened ok? Don't interrupt" i told her
"my lips are sealed" she said "i'm listening"
"when i left practice to go to Alex..." *sigh* "well... i ran into Ben" *Natalie gasps* "and he told me i was going to pay for breaking up with him and leaving him for Alex"
"wait but i thought you and Alex weren't going...." she interrupted
"we weren't and still aren't Natalie" i said a little too harsh.
"sorry" she mouthed and with another sigh, i continued
"its okay i'm just cranky today. Now, back to what happened. Well he said i needed to pay, also for the damage that he had done to his car to get out"
"good job on that one again" she said then i looked at her and she fake zipped her mouth.
"thanks. Anyway, he began.... you know.... trying to..."
"yeah i get it"
"and Alex came and saved me" i said
"aw thats so sweet. So why'd you tackle him?" she asked
"well i was a bit too relieved to see him and eager to get away from Ben so i just threw myself at him and unlucky for me, everyone came out right at that moment"
"including Pat?"
"yep including her" i said
"but she got out before we finished practice" she stated
"yeah a the same time the jocks came out" i said, trying to figure something out
"yeah but that was a few minutes after Alex saved you right?"
"yeah and...?"
"well miss delayed her and you bumped into Ben a few minutes after you left" she went on, her face masked with concentration
"yes...?" i was seriously lost now
"don't you see Nell?" she practically yelled
"what?" i asked
"PATRICIA HAD ARRANGED TO MEET BEN AT THAT TIME" She said, grabbing my shoulders to shake me
"so coach delayed her and instead he bumped into me" i was finally getting it
"YES!" she squealed "they've been doing this all along too!"
"ok i'm lost now" i didn't get what she wanted to say now.
"don't you get it? The times Pat'd get out early from practice to get ready for some stupid thing or her mom was texting her or some crap like that?" she said
"he's been cheating on me all this while!" it clicked "with HER!"
"yes!" she screamed
"that mother f*king b**ch!!" i was so p*ssed off at her. i know we'd broken up but how could she have been doing this? And she even had the guts to ask for my permission to go public with him. Omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg
OMG!!!
"I KNOW!" Natalie exclaimed, dramatically grabbing her head in fury "WHAT KIND OF A FRIEND IS SHE???"
Just then, the bell rang and we stood up at the exact same time, as if we'd practised it. I could tell by Natalie's expression there was gonna be some serious ass kicking today.
Well... not physically anyway but people would classify it as a 'b**tch fight'.
Patricia was soooooo going down and she was going down HARD
