you fixed your hair, pushing it back to see your face clearly. taking one last look, you nodded to yourself and give at least a small boost of confidence to yourself. the last touch to your all-black outfit with the black shades and your signature sword to rest under your belt on your waist.
doing a quick turn around, you saw the two boys with raven hair sleeping peacefully under their thick covers, although their legs would sometimes poke out. you walked over and kissed both of their foreheads, silently bidding them goodbye. once you made it to the doorframe, however, you smiled with your back turned to them, "until we meet again."
the grin never left your face as you snuck out of the house, dadan and the mountain bandits pretending not to care or like they were not affected by you leaving. but as soon as you shut the door behind you, you could hear all of them balling their eyes out, surprisingly the loudest being dadan.
the walk from the mountains to the main hub of the small village wasn't all too long and most definitely peaceful. you took this time to admire the scenery that you won't be seeing for a long time.
as you were walking to the port, you were stopped by a pale arm that reached out to grab you by your wrist. you looked at the person that had halted your step, a soft smile coming across your face.
"y/n, i know you're leaving today! and i know that you may not want anything to do with us anymo-"
she got cut off by your laughter.
"don't think or say such ridiculous things, i will always take care of you guys, no matter how far. it's just a matter of a little letter sent my way." she seemed to ease up at your words, "but what is it that you stopped me for?"
"there is a fight going on in the tavern, it looks like someone is going to get hurt if they don't break it up!"
you walked into the familiar bar, seeing that there was an all-out screaming match going on. it was obviously pirates, based on the information that no one in this town would willingly start up a fight with another townsperson. and by the weapons, they had armed themselves with, that were very close to being drawn.
"hey, hey, i think we should quiet down a bit!" you yelled over the many voices, having their necks practically snap to look at who it came from.
"who is this little girl? shouldn't you be back home or something'?" one of the pirates called out, waving his sword in your direction.
"oh, i'll be on my way once you guys quiet down and get along, and if you are incapable of doing such things, leave this bar because you're giving the people that are trying to drink a hard time," your arm, that was resting by your side, now came to rest on top of the hilt of your sword. it was a warning sign, but from the way they laughed at your intimidation tactic, they didn't take you seriously.
"sweet cheeks," you barfed internally as soon as the two words left his mouth, "i think you don't know who you are talking to. we are pirates! you should be kneeling down in front of us, beggin' for mercy and for us to forgive you!"
you walked over, makino unsuccessfully trying to stop you by holding your arm, that you easily ripped away from her hold.
"no, it seems you don't know what i am."
you lifted your sword, the long metal shown to them and their eyes widened when they saw the little emblem that was imprinted at the very start of the sword, near the hilt. you noticed their tense shoulders, seeing them suddenly backing away.
"i'm glad that you recognize it, therefore i don't need to use it, right boys?"
they all scurried away, thinking of how you could possibly obtain that sword. it was supposed to be resting at the side of someone else, someone much stronger than some random village girl. when there was no one left in the bar than the ones that were just trying to enjoy a drink and the locals, you turned to makino with a smile.
"there? all better now, if they ever start acting up again, send luffy down here. he has to work on his intimidating face anyway!" you both laughed at the subtle insult sent the rubber man's way. it soon died down however when makino finally took notice of your small backpack.
"you better stay safe, okay? i can't have you dying or anything stupid like that! there are so many dangers out there, you understand that, right?"
you chuckled at her worried tone before turning the situation to a more lighthearted one, "of course, i know. i'll be sure to be as safe as i can living as a pirate."
she smiled softly, hugging you tightly before you let go.
"well, i think there is a raggedy old boat waiting for me at the port," she nodded and fixed your hair before saying her goodbye, no longer tearful. her eyes only filled with hope and admiration, someone so young and strong as you setting sail was inspirational for not only luffy, but to her as well. you're going to live such freedom, adventure-filled life, and she admired your bravery to even step foot off this island.
you stepped onto the old wooden boat, smiling to yourself as you sat down and took the wooden oars out. you started rowing, the little town almost being out of sight before the sight of a dust cloud came into your line of sight. you chuckled silently, seeing that it was your friend.
"Y/N!! WAIT FOR ME!!"
the signature straw hat on his head almost fell off due to his excitement of seeing you off. you couldn't help but hold your hand over your mouth to stop the laughter from escaping past your lips.
"OF COURSE!!" you shouted back, being able to hear his laugh from where your boat floated in the sea. "GET STRONGER TOO!"
he gave you a thumbs up that you could barely decipher and so you continued rowing on, knowing that your future captain was going to keep his word and become the pirate king someday.
---2 YEARS LATER---
you sat at a local bar of the island you were stopping over on, popping a chewed up piece of bubble gum as you read the newspaper. a few months ago you remember reading an article with your old friend's name in it, causing you to be more than happy for him. he got himself quite a high bounty, but there wasn't any other release of news about him, his crew, or his current state, so you could assume, that he's been laying low for quite a bit.
however, as you were slightly daydreaming, you didn't notice the look of a certain someone that wasn't all too far away from you. his three swords stood out to anyone looking, but not nearly as much as his bright green hair. people couldn't stop staring at either of you two because they recognized the relationship.
a bounty hunter was staring at someone across the bar with a very high bounty.
the bar was filled with a dangerous aura and it got even tenser when he stood up and made his way towards you.
"dead or alive."
your head perked up and you lifted your shades to look him over.
"not a good pick up line you got there," you smirked, teasing him even though you knew his true intent.
"it wasn't one," he said oblivious to your purposeful intention of pissing him off, "dead or alive. 200,000,000 million beri. i'm taking you in myself."
your figure was slouched over, your eyes were looking at him lazily, not really seeing anything special with this bounty hunter from any other you faced before.
"go on then,"
"i'm not making a mess in this bar, outside." he said, walking away from you, expecting you to follow after.
you glanced at the people that were watching the whole thing go down, shrugging your shoulders before you placed a couple of coins on the table and standing up to follow after the mysterious man.
as soon as you stepped outside, the man with green hair was tying a bandana around his head. you chuckled, rolling up your sleeves to prepare yourself. it was never nice to underestimate people, so you were still on guard, but you highly doubted he was any more different than others before him. although, honestly, his three swords did intimidate you a bit.
"how long is this gonna take? because honestly, i have better places to be," your eyes stayed trained on his form, shifting backward slightly as he came running at you with all swords out.
he sliced all the two in his hand in the same direction, but you easily blocked it with hardening your arm with haki, the armor on your limb being a strong enough shield to not cause any harm onto you. you then took advantage of his shocked state, you guess he hasn't seen anything like that before, and you kicked the spot behind his leg, your other hand grabbing him by the throat.
with the mix of kicking the spot behind his knee and putting pressuring onto his throat, you knocked him down onto his back, leaving his two swords astray and out of his grasp.
"i win. a man's back touching the floor declares the obvious winner."
he lifted his head to look at you, but you didn't bother sparing him another glance as you were already walking away.
"what was your name then, moss head?"
he grit his teeth, still not having accepted his defeat just yet.
"roronoa zoro. the man who is gonna be the best swordsman in the world." his dramatic introduction made you chuckle, but not out of mockery, but out of chance. what were the chances you would meet someone as ambitious as him when his possible future captain had just as ambitious goals?
"well then roronoa zoro, i suggest you train more. if you can't beat me, a simple swordswoman who didn't even need to draw her sword to beat you, you have a long way to go before taking on the grand mihawk."
you left with those words ringing in the air as he brooded over your little piece of advice.
Pirate rookie, Y/n L/n, has been recently dubbed under the name 'Holy Waters' by the World Government and been added to the wanted list. If given to any local governmental facility, dead or alive, you will be granted a prize of 200,000,000, as even though she is a rookie, this mysterious figure has started much trouble for the marines.
We appreciate any information that you can give us, as that helps us track down her whereabouts. We would also like to warn that if you do not have experience in fighting or turning in criminals, that you take caution when approaching this pirate. Her powers are unknown although we do know that the sword that hangs by her side used to be of 'Red Hair' Shanks, so this already shows that her power can be extended out to one of the Yonko.
Ace couldn't help but smirk at the article, you were a fresh pirate, even if you set sail at least 2 years ago and you were already causing shock waves across the world. he really couldn't wait to see you again, whenever that may be he knows that it will be nothing but a joyous time. and maybe then, he will get to convince you to join the whitebeard pirates rather than luffy's crew.
the number on your head made him a bit worried about your safety, but he knew more than anyone that it was in fact as an understatement to your true power. he neatly folded the paper into his pocket, getting up off of his stool when he heard someone on the crew call for him.

Luffy laughed his head off seeing your wanted poster, not understanding the grand number that was on your head for anyone to take.
"she looks so badass! wow! can we frame it dadan? can we, please?!"
"there will be no such thing going on in this household," the curly hair rejected luffy's idea, but gave a knowing glare to the one standing next to her, "get your butt moving right now and buy the finest frame in town!"
