Stupid

Wow, we've come so far, haven't we?
I've told you all my secrets
Shared with you the darkest words in my mind
Showed you who I really was
And now, this is how you repay me?
By using me to forget about your sad life
Well, I guess it was my fault too
I was too stupid to speak up
To say what I thought was going on
I may not always be right
But I am right most of the time
And I was right about this
What I wasn't right about was you
I thought you were different
I thought you really cared
I thought you really accepted me for me
Not just for what you see
My god, I can't believe I was stupid enough to think that way
You always called me an optimist
But you've changed that
You've proven to me just how the world really is
Isn't that what you've always told me?
Isn't that what you've constantly warned me about?
I guess, I was just too stupid to realize it sooner
Maybe, I was too stupid to say something sooner
I wanted this to last
I wanted it to be so much more
But I guess we can't all get what I want
