"Repair the robot. I'll be there in five."

Those were the last words she heard before the communication was shut off. The blonde haired baddie expected this. She knew the robot would be behaving in such a failing matter. It was called for. Completely predictable in a sense someone would call it child's play. It was all to simple, because she's the one who did it.
She smiled as she held something in her hand. It was a trigger. Her thumb slid across the shiny button. The screen beside her showed the fallen robot. She shook her head as she walked towards it. It was lying there, lifeless and unmoving. Her hands rested on the table top.

"Alliance only goes so far." Grey spoke.

She looked back at the trigger.

"Don't test me Harper." The former principal threatened.

****************

The four freshman were in the med bay. Ryan was being scanned for any sign of damage. The machine was beeping constantly, representing that he was alive. Veracity checked his vitals again. He seemed stable. His full body scan appeared on the screen.

"That weapon packed a lot of heat. Another one could've had you unconscious. And that body blast drained most of your power." Veracity informed.

"Well, good thing it was a test." Spyder put in.

"Yeah. A test that should've been done before we went up against Harper." Veracity replied to that.

Spyder sighed. That's when Harris walked in. He stood next to the machine.

"Seth's machine is down. But, we didn't destroy it. And, I don't think it's all that damaged either." Harris said.

"How can you tell?" Spyder asked.

"The cam is still facing his robot. It's just lying there." Harris answered.

Spyder nodded.

"Are you okay?" The black haired genius questioned his friend.

Ryan slowly sat up in his spot.

"Yeah. That body blast took a lot out of me." He responded.

"And most of your power." Veracity added.

"I told you! I knew-"

"Yeah yeah. We get it, your right. We're wrong. Moving on." Spyder cut him off.

His friend crossed his arms.

"Hey guys?" Veracity asked.

The boys turned to look at her.

"Where's Mark?" She inquired.

"He--WENT AFTER SETH!" Harris realized.

"Wait, he didn't come back yet?" Ryan asked.

"No." Harris responded.

"Where is he? Spyder wondered.

Harris ran into the control center. And even though he didn't have the energy to move, Ryan pushed himself up and followed the others out. Harris ran to the monitor. He attempted to locate the oldest out of the five. After a few seconds, it picked something.

"He's...not far from here." Harris informed surprised.

"Where's Seth?" Ryan asked.

"Well, he's not with him. Mark's alone." Harris answered.

"Why's he just standing there?" Spyder questioned.

Harris shrugged. The four of them headed towards the elevator. The doors closed once they were in. It sent them down the robot.

***************

The waters of the bay shimmered. What seemed like stars were actually fireflies lighting up the area. The smell of nature was present. A few fireflies had zoomed past the young teen's face. An owl cooed, with some crickets joining in. The mechanic was standing near the bay. He took a step forward, letting the scene in front of him mesmerize his mind.
It didn't take long for other people to arrive. After all, you just had to walk out the robot. You could see him on the other side. While staring up at the sky, the sixteen year old was accompanied by his teammates. His brother stood on his left side. He scratched his arm before speaking.

"Hey you alright?" Ryan asked.

His brother glanced at him and nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah, it's just been a long day." Mark answered.

Ryan didn't buy that.

"You sure?" He asked.

"Yup." Mark reassured.

Spyder peeked his head in between the two. Both brothers looked at him.

"So what happened?" He inquired.

"What?" Mark returned in question.

"You went after Seth. Anything happen?" Harris clarified.

Mark sat down in the grass.

"The only thing I actually care about is what he said about you." He told his brother.

"What do you mean?" Ryan posed.

He sat down beside his older family member. The others did the same.

"He said that he cared about you. And that if he captured you, he wouldn't kill you." Mark began.

"He cares about me?" Ryan questioned almost astonished.

"Oh yeah right! If he did, he would've actually shown it." Harris disagreed.

"Everyone shows love in a different way." Spyder mentioned.

"That's not love. That's attempting murder!" Harris responded to that.

"Well, it's not like we don't have that in common." Ryan spoke under his breath.

"You were mad." Mark said.

"Either way it's true." Ryan counteracted.

"So, you guys didn't fight?" Veracity requested.

"No. I was this close to punching him." Mark showed with his fingers.

"If you do, get it on tape. That deserves a loop." Spyder told him.

Harris chuckled. Ryan sighed as he looked back at his brother. He bit his lip and pondered on something. This had to be the weirdest day ever. Awkwardness was upon the moment. And if he wanted everything to at least feel normal, he had to clear the air.

"I know it wasn't your fault." Ryan commenced.

Mark turned his head to look at him.

"You were only trying to look out for me. Leo too. And I'm sorry." Ryan apologized.

"Your sorry? I should've told you about this sooner." Mark responded.

"But you both knew it wouldn't matter if I knew after Seth was in jail. That's why you wanted to wait." Ryan stated.

Mark nodded.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"I know." Ryan responded.

"So, are we cool?" Mark questioned.

He held out his fist for a bump. Ryan sighed as he tilted his head.

"Frosty?" Mark asked.

The technopath looked out to the bay. He shook his head.

"No." Ryan answered.

Mark put his fist down.

"I'm not mad at you anymore. But, I'm not ok with this. It'll take time." Ryan explained.

Mark glanced at the ground before looking back at the bay. The Mech X crew admired the peacefulness that went on in the night. The pilot clamped both of his hands on his brother's shoulder. He rested his head on his hands. The mechanic looked back at him. He smiled a bit. Overall, they were not on good terms. However, they weren't as argumentative with one another. Brothers fight, and that's how it is. It was going to take time, but for now, the night did more of the talking than they did.
