The days turned into weeks and the weeks changed into months yet we still had no information on Nessie’s where-about
Jacob hasn’t been home in about four months and if I’m honest I am actually worried about him. Hate him or not he is still family at the end of the day
I picked up my phone and decided to call him

“Hello” he said groggily
“Jake” I said letting out the breathe I didn’t realize I had been holding
“Chlo?” I heard him ask me
“Yeah… I was worried; you haven’t text, called, skyped. I- well we didn’t know if you were alright” I said rambling
“And I’m sorry Jake” I whispered
“You have nothing to be sorry for. I was a dickwadd and I’m the one who should be sorry. I just got so mad after what you guys said and I lost it and ever since I just felt anger but your famaji” he said
“You watched Ice Age Continental drift?” I asked laughing
“Chloe who hasn’t girl?” he asked we but I knew he was messing with me
“It is an amazing film” I said sighing
“Yeah it is but I still like dawn of the dino’s best”
“But on a serious note………have you got any new information on Nessie?” I asked so low I barely heard myself
“I tracked her bank card down in England so I’m heading there next” he said almost as if he was about to cry
“This is my entire fault, if I didn’t tell people the damn story she would still be here” I said flopping back onto my bed
Yes I had got my room fixed
I am still grounded for another month
I still don’t have my phone so I’m stuck with the main home phone
Twitter is calling me
Oh and my other electronics have been taken from me to which is a total bummer
“Come home Jake” I said sighing
“Why?” he asked me, he didn’t sound mad that I was telling him to stop this crazy goose chase
“You’re trying to find someone who doesn’t want to be found. Trust me I know, look at how many times I ran for the hills” I tried reasoning
“Yeah I guess your right Chlo” I heard him say
“I’m always right babes, now ciao” and I hung up
silly boy didn’t know me at all which kinda hurts in all honesty
I pegged it out of my room and down several flights of stairs and straight into someone who seemed to be going in the opposite direction to me
“Chloe I know I am attractive and all but you have a boyfriend so please stop throwing yourself at me” I heard someone say as I rubbed my now squished nose
I looked up to see an amused Embry
“Urgh your back is like a wall of cement Embo” I mumbled
He let out a throaty laugh while tipping his head back
“I almost forgot……. JAKE IS COMEING HOME” I screamed at him
He snapped his head down to me and looked at me as if I had like a trillion heads and seventy-two toes
“What?” he asked
“I said Jake is coming home” I said calmly and slowly so his brain can function properly without it frying
“Oh” was all he said
Seriously? His best guy friend has been gone for ages and I tell him that he is coming home just to get an ‘oh’
“Well thanks for the enthusiasm” I said sarcastically before pushing past him to get into the living room
“Guess what guys?” I asked glancing at every member sitting on the sofas
No one replied but looked blankly at me
“Thank for the concern. You guys are worse than Embry” I moaned jutting out my bottom lip
They still stared at me as I stood up on the coffee table
“You either heard or don’t give two shits” I said cocking my right eyebrow up
“We don’t give two shits” Jasper said un-pausing the game he, Emmet and Seth were playing while mom and Alice continued to surf the internet while Edward walking out with Grandpa and Grandma……was knitting?
“And I was gonna tell you guys exciting news about Jake but fine, you don’t want to know” I said walking back to my room
“Chloe wait” Jasper yelled
“Yes?” I asked turning to him
“Is that My Dark night rising top?” he asked me seriously
“Erm no” I said slyly but smirking at him
He just shrugged his shoulders and carried on playing whatever game he was trying to beat Seth and Emmet at
I just walked up to my room, I guess they didn’t really care about Jake anymore, he might have fought with us, chose to find Nessie rather than stay with us, nearly killed me and Seth by throwing us out of a window and just been a pain in the ass but he is family like he said, and family stick together even though we all kind of turned our backs on Nessie
Maybe I should call her
See how she is, where she is, maybe convince her to come home
Na that will never work
But it won’t hurt to try that annoying voice in my head reasoned with me
“Fine” I said out loud but quickly slapped my hand over my mouth
I picked up the house phone once again and decided it’s now or never
We have all our mobile numbers put into the phone which is a good thing because even though I’m part vampire I have the crappiest memory going
RING RING RING
“Hello?” I heard her say
“Nessie?” I asked
“Yes? Can I ask who is calling me?” she answered back in a small voice
“It’s me Ness, it’s Chloe” I said almost in tears
She took a sharp breath
“Please don’t hand up” I said panicking
“What do you want?” she snapped at me
“I want you to come home” I said softly
“One day I shall return but I can’t. Not right now anyway” I heard her sigh
“Nessie Jake has gone mad trying to find you these past months, Bella and Edward are worried sick please come home” I begged
“No, like I said I can’t” she protested
“Why?” I screamed at her
“Because I forgot” she screamed back at me
“Forgot what?” I asked lowering my voice
“I forgot how to feel. I don’t feel love, joy, sadness, I am empty Chloe and I’m scared” she whispered to me “I don’t know what to do”
“Come home Nessie we can sort this out” I tried reasoning to her “We may have had this falling out about something so stupid but it’s the past. Look at the good we have done together” I carried on
I could hear her chocking back sobs
“You don’t have to come home now but know I forgive you” I said before hanging up the phone. Maybe she will call back but I doubt it, maybe she will run back here so we can start fresh but I doubt she will come back after one phone call
I sat back on the bean bag pushed up in the corner of my room
What do I do now?
Jake is coming home soon
Nessie is a shell over in England
No one can give two shits
And to top it off I have been so stressed I forgot it is my birthday
Like how do you even forget your birthday?
And I’m four (A/N I kind of forgot what age the character is now so if you know just pop up to me over messenger so I can change it, thanks)
And now I feel bad for not saying happy birthday to Nessie on the phone
I grabbed the main home phone and re-dialed Nessie’s number
It rang and rang and I got the answer machine
Hi this is Nessie leave a message after the beep
BEEP
“Hi Nessie it’s only me……again erm….. I kind of forgot the date but I want to tell you happy birthday so… yeah…. erm bye” I finished hanging up
Well that was awkward and I was only leaving a message
“CHLOE GET DRESSED WE ARE GOING OUT!” I heard mom scream up to me making me flinch
“OKAY! WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?” I yelled make making her wince from the loud sound as she has super sensitive hearing like everyone else including me
“Just wear something nice” she said now at my door and smiling at me
This is my first birthday with my family considering I usually run away and don’t forget the years travelling to save Nessie
I quickly showered and pulled on white pants and bra set
Drying my hair super-fast I combed it through and put my rollers into it
I raced into my wardrobe to fine a nice outfit
I pulled out a white top which had rips in the back and chains hanging from left to right all the way down to my lower back
I picked out a pair of black skinny jeans which had a shiny effect to them and lastly I pulled out some black stilettos which had a silver heel and strap for around my ankle
I lay the items on my bed and did my make-up neatly
Taking the rollers out next my hair fell in light curls down my back finishing just below my elbow
I pulled my clothes on next and stood in-front of the floor to ceiling mirror
I didn’t recognize the girl staring back at me; I looked different, bad ass with the eye liner making my eyes stand out
I grabbed my black leather jacket and headed down the stair while tugging the jacket over my body
I stepped into the living room where everyone was seated in shirts, slacks, dresses and skirts
They all snapped their heads to me and let their jaws drop to the ground
I guess wearing frills and girly colours for a while means the outfit I chose is a big shock
But I felt comfortable in this
It felt like me
Not those skirts and tight tops I usually wear but skinny jeans and leather jackets
This is me
“Chloe what is with the sudden change?” Alice asked me
“These clothes just feel more me” I said shrugging
“Go change” Dad said
“And why should I do that?” I snapped at him
This was so out of character for me and everyone knew it
“Let’s just go” I said walking out the front door to one of the cars
