'Hope'
Lori screams out in pain as Maggie cuts through her stomach , trying to get the baby. I scream , so does Carl.
"STOP! You're killing her!" Carl screams as we sob , Lori is motionless , taking her last few breaths. I watch as Maggie talks to Carl. I tune everything out , I can't feel anything.
"I love you Lori ," I say as I take off her heart necklace and put it on my neck. I hug her tightly , and put my hands over top of Carl's as we pull the trigger , together. I walk upstairs with him , as he brushes past Maggie and I , still in a daze.
I let out a small sob , waking up more. It's morning , just that dream..it seemed so real. It could really happen. I couldn't help but think , what if that really happened? What would we do without Lori here?
"You're awake!" Carl enters , already ready. I nod , and wipe off the stray tears. "What's wrong Hope?" He asks , I shake my head 'no' "Bad dream" I respond , getting up and walking over to my little suitcase , grabbing jeans , a tank top , and my cases for my weapons.
"Shoo! I have to get ready perv," I say kicking him out. He chuckled , I hurriedly put the clothes on , and attached my gun in my holster , my knives where they're supposed to be. I put my crossbow on my back , and walk outside with Carl. I walk into the cell Hershel is being put right now. Lori saved him yesterday.
"Okay , Hershel. Be careful," Lori says helping him up. "I can't stand staring up at the cell bed anymore. It's boring," He says , grabbing his crutches and starting to limp with them , as everyone circles him. Carl and I lead the way , walking outside. Rick , Glenn , and Daryl are on the other side of the fence. Everyone is smiling.
"Way to go Hershel!" Glenn screams. "Shush! You wanna attract walkers?" Rick says. "Can't we just have one nice day," Glenn groans as he hears the walker groans. Rick watching Lori intently. Daryl and I , being stupid kept making faces at each-other.
"Walkers!" Carl screams , as these big giant sounds start to echo. I grab Beth and Hershel , putting them in the this part of a gate thing , and start to stab walkers.
"Lori!" Rick screams , as they start to run. I see Maggie , Lori , and Carl start to go in Cell block C , I run with them , and we start to run through the halls , but then there is a BIG herd of walkers because of the sirens. Lori groans and holds her stomach.
"What's wrong?" Carl asks , as we run through the halls. "I think the baby is coming," She says. "In here!" Carl says , as we walk inside the boiler room. I slam the door shut , and watch as Lori groans in pain , holding her stomach. Maggie comforts Lori , as she trys to hold back a scream. She lays Lori on the floor , as she takes her pants off.
"Carl , you ready to see your younger brother or sister be born?" Maggie questions as she takes Lori's underwear off too.
"Alright Lori , just push your body knows what to do," Maggie soothes. Lori screams as she pushes , but Maggie stops her.
"Wait wait! Somethings wrong," She says as she holds up her hand , covered in blood.
"I-I know what this means," Lori says breathing heavily. "You-you gotta cut me open," She says. I just start to sob.
"No! No! I don't have the equipment," She says. "Carl has a knife," Lori protests. "I'll go get Hershel" Carl begins getting up. "NO! Please don't let my baby die," Lori says sobbing. Maggie nods , everyone is sobbing , knowing she won't make it.
"You're gonna be fine. You are going to beat this world , I know you will. You are smart , and you are strong , and you are so brave,and I love you. You gotta' do what's right, baby. Promise me you will always do what's right. It's so easy to do the wrong thing in this world. So,if it feels wrong don't do it.,don't let this world spoil you. You're so good , my sweet boy. Best thing I ever did , I love you , I love you. My sweet boy , I love you." Lori says , sobbing.
"Hope , you're amazing. You're a solider , and so strong. You take care of this baby , like it was your own. I want you to be her older sibling , I love you Hope. You're like a daughter to me. You will beat this world , and you will fight until the end hun. Promise me , you'll fight back , no matter what. I love you , I love you so much. I'm so very glad I met you," Lori says to me. I sob , and nod.
"I promise" I whisper.
"I love you too," Carl and I say in unison. We hug her , she wipes our tears. Carl hesitantly , hands Maggie the knife.
Lori screams out in pain as Maggie cuts through her stomach , trying to get the baby.
"Stop you're killing her!" Carl screams , as Maggie and him talk. I tune everything out , I sob. I lost both of my mothers. Wait- my dream.
I start to sob , was that a coincidence , or was that..real? I see Maggie holding a baby girl , and Carl arguing back , until I see Maggie go up the steps , and Carl taking out his gun.
"I'll do it with you," I whisper , still sobbing , as I pull the trigger with him. I hug Lori once more , and I notice Carl is already gone. I grab her heart necklace , and put it around my neck. I walk up the stairs , and I protect Maggie and baby girl. We walk out. Rick is alarmed , and everyone looks at us.
"W-Where is she?" Rick asks , as everyone finally realizes. "No! No , no , no , no!" Rick screams , sobbing in front of Carl. Rick grabs an axe , and walks where we just were.
"Rick , no!" Maggie says , trying to grab his arm. Glenn pulls her back , shaking his head 'no'. Baby girl let's out a cry. Maggie hands her over to Hershel.
"She's healthy , but she needs formula. She won't last long," He says , I step up , so does Daryl and Maggie. "Hope , I don-" "I'm coming. I promised." I say. I ignore everything , and start to walk to the old daycare I once knew.
"Hey! Hope , wait up!" Maggie screams. "You wanna attract walkers?" I spit , and continue to walk. "Hope , get ye' ass back 'ere" Daryl says. I give them the finger. I hear gasps.
"Hope..why" Maggie says , waiting for an explanation.
"How would you feel if you lost your mother. Watched her die , had to shoot her in the head , and know that you had to live in a world like this." I say through clenched teeth. I hear no replies. I kick open the door to the daycare. I raise my crossbow , in case of unwanted attention. I hear no groans , or any movement , besides Daryl , Maggie , and I's. I put my crossbow on my back , and go to the kitchen. We each open a lot of the cubers. I grab many bottles , any kinds , and also all of the formula we can take.
We heard a sound coming from this closet thing. I rolled my eyes at them , they were going slower than walkers. I grumbled , and swung open the door , revealing a animal. Daryl shot the animal.
"Hello dinner!" He says , his voice muffled by the flashlight. I cringe , grab the bag , and walk outside the daycare , but not before I glanced around , letting a tear fall. Maggie stands by me , even though I was mean to her. I start to slowly sob , and walk closer to the prison.
"Hope." Maggie says coming up to me as we enter the prison gates. I shrug her hand off my shoulder , and scurry up to my .. cell. I grab extra blankets , and pin them with little needles I found in the infirmary bag. I pin the bottom ones also , so no one can come in. I cry , for what seems like hours. But is only minutes.
"Hope , dinner!" Maggie's voice cracks , as she attempts to come in. She sighs , and as soon as she does a loud baby cry runs throughout the prison. I hurry up , kick through the blankets , and rush downstairs.
"IS SOMETHING WRONG?!" I ask loudly , and frantically. I sigh in relief when I see Daryl feeding..Lil Ass Kicker....
"Uh..what's her name?" I ask , no one answers.
"Lil ass kicker. Since ye ass kicker , we needed a lil one." Daryl says I couldn't help but laugh.
"True , True." I say , still depressed. I go back to my cell , and look for Carl. I see him , and I couldn't help but sigh. He's a mess , like me.
"Carl..dinner." I say , my voice cracking. He doesn't reply his face emotionless. He simply gets up and walks downstairs to the main room.
I couldn't help but be spooked out , because everything that happened in my dream , is happening in real life.
